This is awesome, Taty! I had no idea you can remove the background this way, or change the dark peel color so easy. I learned so much from this tutorial, thank you for always bringing us up to date with the newest and coolest features! The design itself is very pleasing, I loved drawing this piece!

Hello, Thank you very much for your video. I will take few minutes to tell you that you won’t believe it, but an hour ago I was fighting in Photoshop with a picture of a squirrel I took last week, and I intended to put it in my Procreate drawing I have made of a big tree branch to fit it in the latter. Now I tried to crop the picture of the squirrel, fighting with it to keep as much fur as I could, but I just couldn’t achieve exactly what I wanted, but I put it in Procreate anyway, but I wasn’t very happy with that. Therefore, I decided to let it few hours, and to decide what I want to do with that. Then I decided to entertain myself with TH-cam and I spotted your video. I clicked onto it and then…. There is by coincidence the fix to my problem ! Incredible, isn’t not ?! So thank you very much, very appreciated !

Thank you Taty for your tutorial! 🙏 I have a iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2nd generation) with iOS 16.7 but it don‘t do this copy without background. Maybe it’s only possible with newest iOS version 17 ?

It worked on iPadOS 16 too before the update. I think it just works on newer iPad models.

Hi Taty, I seem to not be able to move the first image from the split screen over to the canvas! I have no Idea what I'm doing wrong! Any suggestions?
Hey Debbie, try to press on different parts of the orange. If it still doesn’t work, you can just import the image into the canvas as it is, and then remove background using automatic selection, as we did with water.
It might have something to do with not having the latest update on your iPad. That ability came with a recent update.

Hi, im jist wandering what tablet and pen you have pls? I normally edit on my computer but am looking to use a tablet, just not sure which one to go for
I use an iPad Pro 12.9" and an Apple Pencil Gen 2 in this video
I so want this method to work for me, but I am unable to get that glow-flash on the photo, and unable to a background-free image into my procreate canvas. I did re-start my iPad, and I tried swapping to a fresh i Pencil. Any suggestions? I really want to learn this!

Can use either pencil or finger, both will work

The auto background remove doesn’t work for me, likely bc I have an older iPad
Ah, yes! It also didn't work on my regular iPad. You can just remove the background manually by selecting the shape and then cutting the outer part.

Doesn´t work on my Ipad. I can´t copy it without background. Maybe my Ipad is too old for this. There´s a lot of functions I can´t use. 😞
I think it works with the newest ipadOS update and newer ipads. But you can always crop the images manually. It'll take a couple of minutes only :)

It's an iPad Pro 12.9"
None of this works for me. The dragging over of the orange, not even the whole picture will come over. Fish don’t light up to be moved separately. Tried to cut out the background, follow along until go to layer and press clear which deletes the whole image… 🤦🏻♀️
Checked for update in Procreate and it doesn’t have an update there. 🤷♀️
What kind of iPad do you have ? I think this feature doesn’t work on some models. Alternative way to remove the background is outline what you need using freehand selection in Procreate, then swipe 3 fingers down and from the menu select Cut

It doesn't work on older iPad models. You can always remove the background manually. It'll just take a minute
