Years ago when you were but a twinkle in your parents eyes, I was teacher in a uranium mining camp on an Indian reservation in New Mexico. I tell you this to get a proper context of just how old some of my craft supplies are. The process you shared was one that I used in my small school setting. This tutorial brought a rush of good memories to me and confirmed what a craft supply hoarder I am because I have and still use my golden oldies. Thank you for sharing!!
Yep, in the seventies…what to make with paper and glue!
Hi. Yes, those were the days....aah, there's my rose-tinted spectacles! 😊
Of COURSE you are a primary-school teacher! Not only do you have all these fun and creative ideas up your sleeve; you’re fantastic at explaining everything. I’m so thrilled to be your not-primary-school-aged student! 🤩
When she said it, I said to myself: ahhhh, it all makes perfect sense now! 😂 I absolutely love watching Natasha, for many reasons, and her explanations are definitely in the top of the list 😊
Bonjour 👋
Wouahhh ! Quelle bonne idée !
Joli rendu . Merci pour le partage
Magnifique !!!
LLLLLove the technic Natasha...thank you so much for teaching me new things again
Lovely card Natasha…..you could have a blindfold on ,and one arm tied behind your back and you would make a fantastic card, you are so talented, and I’m so glad you share your makes on TH-cam,thank you Natasha xx💐❤️
Very pretty!
Great reminder that we can go back and use old techniques that look new again!! Thank you!
Love how the crackle even shows through the flowers as well. Adds character.
Very cool!
This is just like decoupage. Those napkins are beautiful and your cards are lovely.
So beautiful!!! Thank you, Natasha!
Thank you for sharing these beautiful cards you make. You are at the top of my list.
Natasha, you have the best techniques for using what you already have. Thanks for the ideas for those of us that need to use our stash and stop hoarding. TFS
Wow Natasha, I can see lots of possibilities for this technique. Thanks so much. 😊
WOW! I'm going to be trying this soon!
Wonderful technique! Lovely card.
This is beautiful 😍
Well Natasha you've done it again!😉what a MARVELOUS TECHNIQUE!! Beautiful Card😎😉♥️🙏🏻😘🇺🇸🦅
WOW Tash, you are telling me that all these years I paid big bucks for crackling medium and all it would have taken is THIS?
And you are actually doing this in the opposite order of what the expensive stuff says, genius.
I know craft supply companies often sell you stuff that is totally overpriced just because they put their name on it (as in cheap makeup brushes vs. "life changing blender brushes" with colored handles). But this had me stunned.
I love the "straight crackle", btw, it's like birch bark or the edges in/of an old map.
Elementary school teacher, ey? That explains your patience with us ...
Loved it!
I have never tried this technique before but it makes so much sense thank you so much.
I actually haven't heard you mention being a primary school teacher in a while,I was actually wondering if you still taught. I know you have a young family and sometimes life changes. Enough of my being nosy, I really really love the card, your creativity shows in everything you do. ☺️
I thought the same! Don’t know how you make time for it all but I’m very glad you do!!
Hi Natasha, what a stunning beautiful card 💞 thank you so much for sharing your awesome techniques 😁💐
I did not know you were a preschool teacher but I can tell you would be excellent. You not only give excellent instructions but you exhibit so much enthusiasm and joy.
merci, je vais le faire !

Hi Natasha. I have watched this video thrice already. I am seriously in love with this technique. It's Saturday morning here in South Africa and I just want to get in the car and go buy some pretty serviettes and get crafting. You are a brilliant TH-camr and I am very confident to share your videos with other crafters knowing that there is no way that they will find a more creative nor better tutor than you. In my eyes you are simply the best! Not a word of a lie. Thank you so much for all that you give to your viewers. God bless you and your family. 💙🤗💐
Why am I not surprised to hear you are a teacher ?! Thank you so much for everything you do !
I must be living under a rock because I've never heard of this technique! I really like the texture. Thanks for sharing this, I'll give it a try.🌷🌷
I’ve done this technique many times but I start with a layer of paint before the pva. I like the one direction version and if you’re quick you can add lines with the end of your paintbrush and make it look like wood planks that are peeling. Gold paint underneath gives a nice effect with red or green on top - good for rustic Christmas cards.
@Caro Lef Thank you for the tip about peeled paint on wood💕🐬
Thanks for the idea...I was just wanting to make an old fence😊
For anyone who doesn't know, Modge Podge is PVA glue. MP is just a brand name.
The gold card stock gives it a look of gold foiling, really lovely touch.
OMG! Thank you for that! I was wondering what PVA glue was! And I probably do have some Mod Podge somewhere!
Well, now I know why I thought, "I could use that Mod Podge in my stash for this."
@@mrsmcphate You're welcome
Thank you for that!
Thank you! Didn’t know that.
I dont know where you get your ideas, but I sure am glad you do! This is such a cute idea! 😍
I didn’t think I was going to like this but I guess I was wrong! So many ways to be creative🎉🎉🎉
Love this crackle technique. So easy and no special medium needed.
Stunning beautiful card! Love it. Have a great weekend. Thanks for sharing.💜
I had no idea that you could use white glue and paint/gesso and it would give the crackle look. It looks amazing and I love how pieces don’t fall off. Thank you for sharing this technique. ❤️
I've never heard ofbthis technique Tash, and i didn't know you are a primary school teacher either. You're amazing!
Your cards are gorgeous, i must have a go at this myself, thanks for the inspiration!
I love this! That card definitely has a WOW factor!♥️
I’ve heard about napkin cards, now that I’ve watched your tutorial I think I might give it a try.
I didn't know you were a teacher...hi from a retired daycare teacher in Canada 🇨🇦. I love this technique..I'm looking forward to trying this. I keep buying packages of napkins because I want to make cards but I never get around to it. Now I have a great idea for those thanks to you!
Interesting technique and crackled effect Natasha; adorable cards created!! 🥰🤩 So is PVA glue like collage medium or just regular Elmer’s glue?
TFS!! 😃🙏🏾👍🏾
I want the answer to that too!
someone in the comments said that Mod Podge is PVA glue.
The smoother crackle looks more like old wood, very cool. Great technique, thanks for sharing
WOW - this DIY crackle technique is amazing and Natasha your final card is absolutely stunning. Your students are so lucky to have you as their teacher - as we are 🌻🌻🌻
I definitely will try this technique. Love it. I learned something new. Thank you for sharing.
I didn't know that you were a primary school teacher Natasha . Thank you for sharing your beautiful card and card technique with us today my friend . Love it and I will have to try it as well. 🙂
I did not know this was even possible!! Thank you so much for showing us this technique. So much interest in one little A2 piece of paper!!
BTW, I am so glad that you are an elementary school teacher. How fortunate your students are to have a person such as you as a role model. I don't know how you juggle all your hats, but am glad that you do!!
The right one looks perfect for a birch tree
I really liked the look of this technique. The card was beautiful.
How cool is that?! I’m going to try with the napkins again. I tried with cling film and the iron, but nothing stuck,. So I’ll be giving this a go for sure. Thank you for sharing this technique, and thank you for everything you do. You’re such a cheery bright light in this gloomy world. Xx
Absolutely beautiful card and great technique 🥰
OMG!!! I am LOVING the look of the crackled effect! Thank you!
I bet you are fun and loving primary teacher, Natasha. I have t done this background technique for years. Now, I can do it again and share doing so with my granddaughter. Thanks, Natasha.
I have made cards with the napkins but not with the crackle behind, really pretty with it . Love your card and the crackle technique. Thank you for sharing Natasha.
Another great idea. Simple but quite unique and affective! Thanks!
Wow. Love this. I am going to have some fun!! Thank you Natasha.
Hi, thanks for all your great videos. Just wondering where you get your Neenah card stock from? Cheers Sandra
You're creativity never ceases to amaze me. My 3 girls and I will be making some thank you cards for my daughter's graduation gifts, using this technique. We can't wait to try it.
I have never seen or heard of this technique, and I absolutely love it!!! So simple, yet the visual interest this creates is far from simple. It is elegant!! Thank you for sharing your amazing talents with us (me)!!❤️❤️
I absolutely LOVE this! I wanted some crackle medium but it's expensive IMO, so I've never purchased it... this is a perfect substitute and honestly, I think it does a better job! 🤩 The striped (one direction brush strokes) card I think would make an awesome Burch tree!! Add more gaps and BINGO! Burch tree background done! 😍
Such a fab technique and the wonderful tip of using different colors of acrylic paint!! I will try this. Have a wonderful weekend💕🐬hugs
I kept saying Wow! When you showed them dry Wow! ❤
Beautiful! Love the added dimension! I did napkin cards last year for all the moms at our church. I did emboss the card after I glued the napkin on . This would have worked nice for that. Thank you.
Just beautiful! I love that you used napkins I have many nice ones and I will have to try this. Thank you again for getting us out of our comfort zone and do something different. Love all your videos.
What a cool technique! I have never seen this done before. Sure am glad it was your cheerful and great explaining self to show me!😊
Wow! This is so effective and so much cheaper than crackle medium. Thanks for sharing this technique and putting napkins over the top is something I must try x
Oh my goodness, another fantastic technique for me to try. I did make a card using your scrunched paper technique but I can't show you yet as my recipient has not received it yet.
Thank you so much Natasha 💓 x
I love love love this technique and card so much xxx
REALLY COOL Natasha! Thanks for the lesson!
A beautiful card Natasha 😊
I really enjoyed this technique, thank you Natasha. I might give this technique a go when I make my Father's Day cards 🙂
Say what? I can’t wait to try this as I have never seen it before. Crackle mediums are pricey and this uses what I already have. Tfs. ❤️
You are a great teacher! You explain every video well. Love this and will have to try it. Another one saved. Thanks for sharing..
Another technique on my to do list. I love the crackles and in combination with the napkin and gold mat it is perfect for some family members. Thank you for this great tutorial 👍
Beautiful card!💖
Hi. This is just AMAZING! I have the PVA glue, I have some acrylic paints ( somewhere) and I have the cardstock. The only problem I have is being able to get hold of quality, pretty napkins. Here in the UK there seems to be plenty of the crinkly tissue paper type with the embossed edges available but I've not come across the nicer ones since circa 1980's so the search continues. DOH! Thank you for sharing this super technique, I think it's brilliant.
Absolutely gorgeous thanks for sharing you’re so talented 🙂
Such a simple but effective technique
Interesting technique. Is the glue dry or moist? I'm sorry, I have very poor English.
Hmmm, this has me intrigued Tash!! Would metallic paint work for this technique?!! I love this crackle effect, that makes such a beautiful card!!! You are such a genius card maker, and this is why your channel rocks!! Heartfelt thanks for sharing!!!🧡🦋🧡
Totally love this, so classy!!
No wonder you educate us all so well!! I learn tons from your videos, this idea is another great one!! Gotta try this technique, love the look with AND without the napkin. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!!
Love this technique!! Thanks for sharing ❤️. Can I use Elmer’s glue?
Just love it. Used to iron on plastic wrap.
On the card front. Was beautiful too. TFC
Very cool technique ! I have lots of pretty paper napkins I've unintentionally accumulated over the years. This is a perfect way to use some of them! Oh, and I use to do a similar thing but it was called decoupage. TFS!
I have used this technique on wooden birdhouses for decorations for an engagement party (theme was "love birds"). The acrylic paint dries more quickly than the glue so the drying glue cracks the layer of dried paint on top. The paint has to be the top layer. It won't crackle if the glue is the second layer.... ask me how I know! lol Beautiful card! I never thought to do this on card stock. Yours looks great! What weight of cardstock is it?
Coucou, merci pour ce beau partage. Très réussi. Bonne journée
Hi Natasha, What a great effect that has on the back grounds, just looks so great, your cars is very nice, thanks for sharing, Cheers Anna.
What an interesting tutorial! I love the look. The final result with the serviette is really lovely. Thank you for all your amazing inspiration 😊🌸
Wow! Love the look!
Another great tutorial, thank you Tash. We've just moved to the South Island so all my craft stuff is still in boxes, hopefully I can get sorted soon, I know I have everything I need to have a go at this...somewhere! 😆
So grateful for your creativity. I like this technique! The effect reminded me of Birch bark when you used a more smooth horizontal application. I’m going to try that with a smaller brush.
Thx Tash for the reminder of this technique, I also wonder how you find the time in your busy life to share and teach us, have a great long weekend
That is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a while with the napkin over it! So simple but really cool! All the things you show amaze me but this surprised me! I actually have switched from another channel I watched faithfully to yours now. And the amazing thing is you do mostly stamping! So many ppl hardly stamp anymore, it’s stencils and dies and like you said before, those dies are so expensive! You do amazingly beautiful work without all the extras! It’s mind blowing to me. Great job! I’ll have to get some paper napkins!!! Talk about a fast easy Christmas card! WOW! There’s an idea!!!
Amazing, love the result. 😍
Very cool technique I'm going to try this and a cool card 💜🦋🥰
Think I'll try this with my little lady. Thank you xxx
Hey Natasha! This is really cool! TFS Hugs!
Definitely looks fun 🤩
Crackle backgrounds are right up there with oxide and alcohol ink backgrounds, for me ... my favourites. Your technique looks so easy and fool-proof.
Fab!! Thanks for this great technique 👌
Very cool! Have to try this. It makes sense you teach, I never knew you did that!
