Hi Kate, For Illinois State do we need SSN after passing nclex to apply for license because they have mentioned that for now we can add 99999 but when applying for license we need SSN. (Can we get license without SSN if we fill SSN affadavit form?)

I believe there's an expiration date of 4yrs. But I would recommend logging in to your CGFNS account and check the status. If it shows expired/inactive, you'll have to re-order/re-submit. More info here:

Would you happen to know if I can endorse my expired (non-active) NMI RN license to Illinois? Someone told me they were able to endorse their expired license to NY but I dont know if it can be done with Illinois, too.

In continental testing service IDFPR in that their is a applicant identification information. Their we should provide an address which address should we need to provide working address or address in passport?

You can put n/a if not employed. Reason: NCLEX. Although I would recommend you email ACME to be very sure. They are very responsive.
I was also a tad a bit confused about licensing by endorsement for nurses educated outside usa and when i click on the pdf they gave, they ask for ssn! The links you gave are bulls eye
thank you for posting this. just a quick question. What if you dont want to take the NCLEX-IL yet but you want you credential done first. Can you do the rest and stop at pearsonvue step? then sign-up on it when you planned to take it?
I believe some of the documents/requirements are set to expire after a certain amount of time. You might want to check on those and plan around it.
Hi Kate, I wonder how many times you can take Nclex as a foreign graduate? you have to pass in 3 years like other applicant here? or you only have 3 testing times w/o year limit.

I have a question, it's quite confusing because I thought it's not required English for those international nurses but there is included English language prof test while completing the form of CES.
Does it allow you to skip it? It should depend on the state if it's required or not.

In my case, yes I waited until I successfully had my CES issued before applying with CTS for NCLEX.

I heard IELTS is a lot easier than TOEFL, so I would recommend taking the IELTS to fulfill the requirement for English proficiency.

Hi Kate, about the Authorization to Test, the validity is only 3 months, does it mean you need to take the test within that period? Or you can take the test beyond that 3 months as long as you scheduled it before it expires? Thanks for the help:)
You have to take the test within the validity of your ATT.

Log in to your CGFNS account to check its status. If it doesn’t say expired, then it should be ok.

Hi! Ideally, you would complete all the requirements first before applying with CTS but if you applied with incomplete requirements, they will mail you a letter mentioning what else is missing. You can just then comply asap. CTS is the one authorized to check your eligibility to sit for NCLEX.

If it really says to send a printed version of the application, then that probably is what you should do. Make sure you research and read the instructions again.

Hi, I was scheduled for NCLex exam last April 22, 2021 in Taiwan but due to Covid 19, I was not able to enter Taiwan. My ATT will expire next week, my concern is, if I wanted to apply for another ATT , do I need to start my application in CTS again,? with finger printing and so on....?what shall i do? Hello, If I am a US citizen, am I required to to take the licensure exam of the country I graduated from to be able to work in Illinois?
I don’t think it’s a question of citizenship but your education. You need to have your credentials verified (through CES Professional report by CGFNS required by Illinois) to make sure it meets the US standards, and part of that process is providing proof of licensure. You might want to contact CGFNS to confirm.

I have a problem regarding opening account in IDFPR, I was able to sign in but as I go along there 2 options, one is by examination and two is by endorsement, I click the "by endorsement" , thinking I maybe wrong so instead of clicking next , I click the previous to go back at that point it doesn't allow me to continue, so for curiosity there is "start" at the level of LPN , for me just to continue but its a big mistake it lead me to LPN application, so in this case as if I applied both, I tried to call IDFPR but it just bring me to the answering machine for 4 hours patiently waiting but nobody answer. Do you have an idea how to redo this, I tried to register again but the same name, sss etc., so it says, you have already started, yayks!
Sorry, not very sure how to resolve it. The exam application is done via CTS, not IDFPR. So I think your results will still post based on your SSN. Again, not 100% sure.

On of the requirements for taking "Philippines board exam for nurses" is completing your cases during school. example was OR cases, DR cases so on. I remember correctly you are required atleast 3-5 cases in each area in order to take board exam for Philippine RN license. My question is do you still need to submit them to CGFNS? or do they requested those cases from you when you apply? Thank you
No you don't need to. Your school will take charge of filling out the college education forms - you'll have to print those out (it will be in your CGFNS acct after paying for it) and bring to your school. They will send it straight to CGFNS in a sealed envelope.
Hello, i would just like to ask because I'm doing a DIY for Illinois NCLEX. I already applied for CGFNS before but that was year 2019. Purchased again this year for CES re evaluation. What will be my next? I passed my fingerprint the same year (2019) too. Do I need to pass again?
I would recommend checking if your documents are still valid or active in the CGFNS platform. It sometimes has expiration dates and would require you to start all over again. For me, I purchased the their "E-saved" service = four years of document retention service for all orders placed.

I heard TOEFL is a lot harder than IELTS. If the state accepts IELTS, I would recommend IELTS instead. English test should come first before you process CGFNS (if the state requires) because it should be part of your CES report, and only then they can approve you to sit for NCLEX.

Hi ma'am! Saw ur video and it is very timely as I am currently processing my NCLEX with the same state as urs. I am from the philippines just accomplished my fingerprint card. I actually just ordered a fingerprint card from one of the local online shop here and that's the card I used for my fingerprints at NBI will that be okay? And I only did one copy of it. I know I took a different process from urs but I am just hoping and desperate if you happen to know where I can send my accomplished fingerprints card or if the process I took was alright? TYVM 😍
You might want to contact ACME via email. I believe they prefer that you send them 2 fingerprint cards. But I suggest you explain to them your current situation and follow their instructions afterwards. They are very responsive. Best of luck!

From what I know, if the state requires it, you should take it first. Your test result will be included in the CES report from CGFNS, before you can be approved to sit for NCLEX. But I highly recommend checking the official website of your state for specific requirements.

I believe you can, almost similar situation as mine. Go try apply for CES.
I’m a foreign board passer(Philippines) based in illinois. People that I know encourages me to take my nclex in New york(claiming that they do not require cgfns) then transfer reciprocity to Illinois once I passed. It sounds complicated so I’m not sure wether I should follow that process or just take it in Illinois(knowing that they require cgfns. I’m a permanent card holder(ph visa holder) that’s trying to figure out which process is faster and more convenient.

I can't speak for NY tho because I haven't tried that route. But it looks like NY only requires Credential Verification: www.cgfns.org/licensure/new-york/

If you have someone that could process your documents in the Philippines, I would recommend waiting until you get to the US. I'm saying this because you'll have docs to bring to PRC, to your nursing school. Might need SPA/Authorization esp in PRC.

Hi, I only know that you can access your RN license online via your IDFPR account and print out anytime. It also proves you passed NCLEX. It looks like a certificate with your license #, your name, expiration date. Let me know if that answers your question :)
Just re-checked and yes, I got my candidate report with the letterhead of CTS & IDFPR (page 1), NCSBN (page 2).
