    Without this masterpiece of his magnificent performance ,
    I might not feel the unfathomable deep meaning of life under cover the hustle and bustle of my every day routine
    I couldn't listen to his specutacular performance without tears and deep emotion

      Thank you. I'm undeserving of such high praise. For me, if the piece moved you, that is reward enough. Domo Arigato.

      Very nice of you to say so. I play this piece slower now and less syncopated which adds poignancy to it. I try to keep a frame of mind that even if something is well done, it can always be improved upon.

      @@DanChanPiano I like it, but you spoke my mind. I was thinking, it would be perfect if you played it slower and in regards to rhythm less static and more diverse in emphasizing the various parts of this song. Still, I enjoyed listening. 🙂🖐

      @@ianaustin5541 I've realized for a while now that when I'm in the act of playing a song, I'm listening to what I'm doing in the moment and making decisions to nuance this or emphasize that and I think I've got it just where I want it. I'll call it listening from the player's perspective. Then I'll record it and play it back and from this new perspective as an objective listener, things sound quite different. I'll then make changes based on what what I'm hearing while not playing. I think this concept of objective self analysis works well across many other disciplines whether it be public speaking, acting, writing, you name it. You need to put yourself in the viewer or listeners seat to get a true take on how good or bad it is.

      @@DanChanPiano Thank you for elaborating (not sure if it`s the right english word). I understand and it makes sense what you wrote =O)) All the best for you and greetings from Switzerland.

      @@ianaustin5541 Hoi Ian. Yes, "elaborating" is perfect . Your English is good and I admire those who can speak and understand more than one language. I am lacking that. Thanks for telling me you're from Switzerland. It's interesting to me to know who in the world is watching my channel.

    Hi do you have the sheet music for this? Beautiful playing!!!

    • @DanChanPiano
      @DanChanPiano  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks rob26b, but no I don't use or have sheet music for this. My piano learning technique for videos that show fingering such as this one, is to use the gear icon to playback the video at 1/2 or even 1/4 speed. I play and pause each little segment over and over until I've committed the song to muscle memory and can play it full speed. I'll then search out other versions of the song and possibly borrow from those. I'll then work out my own rendition adding my own style and embellishments to make the song my own. By practicing this technique and even dissecting music you can only hear, your ear training improves and with some effort you can start to play anything you want. You've got talent on piano and guitar that just needs to be fleshed out with practice. I think by putting in the time, I've improved considerably in the five years since this video.
