As an older dude (41) who played the original when it was new, it's one of my favorite games of all time. I'm just barely getting to the Woodside Apts and I'm impressed. It's surpassed my expectations. Remakes always make me nervous. There are obviously changes, but they're fairly minor as far as actual changes. Mostly just seems to be expanded. Of course you have different character models and new voice actors, but even the dialogue is almost identical, save a few lines.

This game isn’t for sensitive people it’s rated M for matured people , I hate how you have to be cautious about this stuff, it tells you beforehand and people still complain
Having been a fan of the original Silent Hill games for over twenty years (I even wrote my end of study dissertation about the first four games and the influence of this series in horror gaming, back then), I iniitially felt saddened to see people playing the remake first instead of the original, but given how well made this remake is, I'm starting to accept it and enjoy it as these people would probably have never played a Silent Hill game otherwise.
I know this story, I have seen it hundreds of times, but there's something about seeing new people enjoy this tragic adventure. Enjoy your first stay in Silent Hill :)

I wish they did the remake of the first. While most people may say the 2nd one is better, Silent Hill 1 is such a classic that started this franchise, it was the first horror game I ever played, I was completely obsessed and scared shitless playing it as a teenager, I've wanted a remake with graphics that do the game justice for years now. This is the problem in general with people streaming games like this. It's a slow, atmospheric, story-heavy horror game, which is impossible to get invested in if every 5 minutes you have to say 'THANKS FOR THE DONATION [USERNAME]!' She isn't playing this because she's actually interested in 'Silent Hill 2', she's playing this because 'it's the popular game to play right now' and literally no other reason.

side note: about the girl in the graveyard @ 10:06, that people called 'ugly' after she was shown in one of the trailers - the devs actually made some changes to her so she looks different in release now. actually, the devs made a bunch of changes to the game in release. shadows, lighting, models, facial expressions, animations, even camera angles. seems like it pleased the skeptics.
I would of suggested playing the original first to see what the original creators made. I'm not really for different people decades apart and cultures to remake something they might not understand. The story is fantastic and its definitely something i think everyone should experience. I hope the game is as good as the original and hope you enjoy the story.
