While changing my water pump, I noticed the harmonic balanced was coming apart. Here’s how I removed it in the 1986 Corvette without lifting the engine.
How in the actual fck did you get this to work I'm currently doing my balancer exact same issue and even with the line undone it seems like the puller is crooked, and the tip of the hex barely peeks out past the crossmember where I can't get a wrench on it enough and not enough space for my ratchet?! I don't understand
I did have a spacer or bushing inside of the balancer hub to help keep it centered and to prevent damaging my crank.. this may have given me an advantage and put the hex out far enough past the crossmember in my case. The long bolt in the center of the puller I have does happen to interchange with the center bolt of a ball joint puller I have here and it’s much shorter. If you have one similar, and can use a shorter push bolt it may help.
