Have you seen the vid of Benedict on the Graham Norton show where he poses next to this same wax figure and then photobombs "himself?" It's both creepy and hilarious
GeaiHerbe LOL, yes Benedict does such epic photobombs. Between his photobombs at the Golden Globes, the Oscars, Ellen DeGeneres and U2, he is officially king of the photobombers, simply because he does it with such aplomb and that cheeky grin of his. In fact I think they should rename it Cumberbombing XD
He is so courteous! Very few huge stars like him where to be so interested in what people do individually during the making of their wax figure. He even personally try to learn and implant the the hair strand on his own wax figure! XD What a down-to-earth man!
That is absolutely beautiful. In fact, it's so life-like, that I better never ever visit Madame Tussauds; I might accidentally end up trying to steal it. :'D
Omg I went it madam tussauds yesterday and as soon as I walked into the place where all of the wax statues were, I ran over to benedicts and smiled like crazy all the way through the building
Ditto. I hope they kept to the same obsessive realism with the color of his eyes, since one iris is slightly different from the other, and I've thought that was cool. Heterochromia.
I’m coming back to this cause something great actually happened over my summer. Visited around Europe and whilst I was in London, England I had the chance to go into the wax museum and have a picture of Ben’s wax figure. I was very impressed, it was astonishing how realistic they all looked ❤️
I have seen other figures of celebrities that didn't look that much like them. But THIS!! They captured our Benedict perfectly (but of course when you start out with live perfection...)! I love the fact that they got his lips just spot on! Right down to the outline of his top lip. I think I need to go to London! ;-)
absolutely bloody FASCINATING. What talented artists MT's has to bring Ben to life (or anyone for that matter). I love these behind the scenes stuff. OMG THE HAIR...ONE. AT. A. TIME. That is crazy talk. Congrats to all, great job!
It should have been an image of Benedict in his Sherlock guise. Now that would be a wax figure that the fans would really want to have the pictures taken with!
These people are amazing! So much work goes into this! This art of sculpting, waxing and creating is just so beautiful. And you're literally plucking on one hair at a time. Yeah, in for a long night there. Bravo to your commitment! Creating everyday magic.
This is fantastic! The first time I saw a screen shot of the finished product, I thought it was Benedict himself. Absolutely love Benedict! And brilliant work by the Madame Tussauds London team!
This is amazing!! Even though I know it's a wax figure, I kept thinking no that's the real man... And Benedict is so awesome, cute, handsome, successful and yet maintains the simplicity that we all adore
The wax figure is undoubtedly beautiful, but it still isn't Benedict. I don't know why, but there's something off about the wax figure that I just can't put my finger on. I spend an inordinate amount of time looking at Benedict's face, so I kind of have it committed to memory. Objectively, based on the pictures, they got it all right. The hair, the lips, the eyes, the face in general--everything is spot on. But when I look at the pictures longer, I feel that something is not quite right, and I don't know why. Maybe it's the fact that the wax figure's eyes are so bland and lifeless, whereas Benedict's eyes are so expressive and full of life... It really creeps me out. Maybe this just proves that perfection can never be fully captured.
Well yeah, but that's a given. It is an inanimate object. It's not a living thing, it's not a human. You can't compare a human being, an actual living, breathing person to a lifeless object. How can you expect a pair of artificial eyeballs to be "full of life"? :)
Tamara D. Point taken. What I honestly (and maybe exceedingly) expected was for the wax figure to have the quality of at least a photograph. I know it must be impossible to fully replicate such beauty, but a girl can dream, can't she?
Nina Dionisio, I think they did a good job with the Benedict wax figure. Same with Prince Harry. It's good joob they have done. But they didn't do so good job with Orlando Bloom. The wax figure of Bloom doesn't look like him.
Amazing, such beautiful and meticulous artwork that goes into these wax figures, such breathtaking talent! :D One thing I love about great actors is seeing how they can play such a diverse range of roles, and you see how they are in real life. I know I was introduced to Benedict Cumberbatch in a mostly serious role as Sherlock Holmes, and then I saw him in other serious roles like Khan or Smaug, and the mysterious Doctor Strange (though he can be pretty funny too XD). And then I see him in real life where he seems like such a laid back guy, and so sweet and friendly, I just love it. :) I think of his serious roles and then I see him smile at 0:37, and it makes me smile to see his face light up with his smile, it's so nice. :)
The eyes! I had to freeze on that part. I wonder if they customized the right eye to show the brown spot, or did it not show? Fascinating, and the best likeness I've ever seen. Wow!
OMG this is fantastic! The accuracy... it's perfect... The talent, patience... When they were colouring I really couldn't differ whether they were doing make up on real Ben or were colouring the figure. You guys did a great job!
So THAT'S how Sherlock survived the fall!
Kelsey Baloney lol😉
Kelsey Baloney lol xD
Kelsey Baloney hahahahaha
v good one
it was never the fall, its the landing
Kelsey Baloney do you think it will ever tell us?
sometimes the wax figures are kind of off but this one is damn near perfect wtf.

Daniella Den Haag Yeah they often are. Like Ryan Goslings one is so messed up hahaha
It's terrifying how accurate this is
Have you seen the vid of Benedict on the Graham Norton show where he poses next to this same wax figure and then photobombs "himself?" It's both creepy and hilarious
ChooseYour Poison I have. That was fantastic

He actually obliged and went in to have his wax figure be very accurate. Respect. Not a lot of celebrities would bother.
cnc machine
its... strange yet amazing. the patience they must have to do the hair.
I'd lose my mind.
Haha ''strange''.
Nice one
Foxtrot it goes by fast once you get into the rhythm of things like that.
Doctor strange...?
I've punched hair and tied wigs. Starting off it's maddening, but you get into a rhythm you don't even think about it.
Like any tedious chore, you zone out and dream about that great summer at blah blah and suddenly your done and got paid really well too.

It's incredible how accurate that looks!
That's fucking CRAZY how they do that. Those people are so talented
1:47-"then you throw away the clay..." WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? Madame Tussauds, do you realize how much many fangirls would have paid for that?
Fangirls would've pooled to buy that, they could've raised funds for studio equipment!
I think the clay head gets a but destroyed on the way out.
despite the opportunity to auction/sell it..its a waste of all the time invested. they should keep those since its art!!!!!!!
I know I’m wayyy late lol, but it was wet clay so it’s really fragile and also I’m pretty sure you can reuse the clay for the next project
This makes me want to go to London even more now
if youve never been, how do you know its not worth it?
Finley Castello you can preorder tickets. Then you don't need to stand in a queue.
It's funny how much my dream city is nothing for its people
Emmeline Altava, oh sorry, I deleted the comment. I was rude
Finley Castello Oh no it's okay I wasn't offended or anything ^^
how does one apply to be a professional measure-er?
Inside leg or just everywhere?
BigWelshMike this comment made my day i swear
Kiwashi Iwaka Much like C'erine Babyy in her new inside leg measuring job, my pleasure. :-)
BigWelshMike LOLLLL omygosh what the... :/
+C'erine Babyy Best comment ever! But seriously... Where?!
Gosh he's is so beautiful and so adorable. I love him so much
Fiona.B Ikr!
Well you describe him like you describe your lil pet , it's hillarious
He is so courteous! Very few huge stars like him where to be so interested in what people do individually during the making of their wax figure. He even personally try to learn and implant the the hair strand on his own wax figure! XD What a down-to-earth man!
I can't even get my own hair that perfect and these people did it for a fucking wax statue.
They throw away the clay model....? WHAT??? They could have auctioned that off for charity!
To be honest, I would decorate my room with Benedict's head ... this sounds a bit creepy, but you know what I mean ...
Neli Leen Me too!!
ali xena
ali xena its a destroyed piece of clay
Or reuse the clay
They should put Doctor Who in Madame Tussaud's!
Wax figures of every incarnation of the Doctor!
I would be quite hard to do one of william hartnell, but I agree!
Absolutely yes!
YES YES YES YES
SP Murphy That would be brilliant!!
YES
That is absolutely beautiful. In fact, it's so life-like, that I better never ever visit Madame Tussauds; I might accidentally end up trying to steal it. :'D
"accidentally" hu? 😏
Riada I want a life-sized Benedict Cumberbatch statue in my house.
agreed, it might accidentally fall into my pocket

They'll not bother making a mold of his genitals.
So this is how he faked his death :o !

It's so interesting to see the process and Benedict's figure is actually a really good one
Omg I went it madam tussauds yesterday and as soon as I walked into the place where all of the wax statues were, I ran over to benedicts and smiled like crazy all the way through the building
God just to see his wax figure with his (!!!!) suit ; would make me so happy and get me into a really fangirly mood * - *

Holy crap... That looks so real! I had to look closely at that and see it actually wasn't Benedict, instead it was the wax figure... Wow, Mind. Blown.

1:22 DRAMATIC REVEAL OF.... Benedict listening to music lmao
Just one thing, I wished they captured him smiling instead. :( But nonetheless, very artistic and such talented sculptors! WOW
Its so creepily lifelike which i suppose goes to show how fantasticly real they are!! I salute you!!
Indeed, his face was sculpted by gods.
aww it's sweet that he actually got invovled and watched the process, most celebrities would just do the sitting and go
absolutely bloody FASCINATING. What talented artists MT's has to bring Ben to life (or anyone for that matter). I love these behind the scenes stuff. OMG THE HAIR...ONE. AT. A. TIME. That is crazy talk. Congrats to all, great job!
omg can I take that home? Benedict's kinda busy 😁
Nah he's dead
Oh I wish I could

Benedict: “oh hello..!”
Me: *already dead*
It should have been an image of Benedict in his Sherlock guise.
Now that would be a wax figure that the fans would really want to have the pictures taken with!
But that would be a little bit weird since they already have made Robert Downey Jr.'s wax from the Sherlock Holmes movies (btw, it is horrible! xD)
Athina Patrika Why would it be weird? They're from two different time periods.
His fans want him as him, not as Sherlock.
I imagine they could easily get around that if they really wanted by doing a costume change and making some sort of wig.
it’d be even better if it was him as doctor strange tho
Watching the wax figure making an appearance on The Graham Norton Show was great fun.
Benedict is so comedic! :)
That's the best wax figure of benedict
Or u can say. Best wax figure ever made
These people are amazing! So much work goes into this! This art of sculpting, waxing and creating is just so beautiful.

OMG the closeup of his face looks SO REAL, for a moment I thought he will blink or move now pretending he was the figure :D
He's so cute and goofy. That moment when you realize it's actually him at 1:20 standing next to his sculpture haha

you should see adele's statue

Honestly, his is one the best figures on the collection,
they really got him right.
*OMG* So refined!! Such perfection!! specially the skin part and the hand! My Gosh!!
HIS VOOOOOOOOOOOOOICE omg... did you hear that? that was the sound of my pants dropping to the floor in the speed of light.
Working at Madame Tussaud's must be an absolute honor.
And you must have so much talent to do it! I admire these people.
imagine you painting his wax figure's face. you'll have him staring at you the whole time😱

For a minute I thought he would just start to speak in his baritone voice!! Gosh!! Breathtaking !!!
I never heard of Benedict (especially because I am from NL), but this guy is pretty handsome.
Kijk maar sherlock, hij is sherlock Holmes zelf super leuk:)
You should see "The Imitation Game" - he's outstanding in that movie!
I was lucky enough to go there and take a photo with this sculpture of Benedict. And the behind the scenes just made me appreciate it even more.
Amazing! BUT....
Am i the only one who thinks that the unfinished (process) looks more like the real Benedict than the finished product? :/
I thought so too! I think it was something about the eyebrows that was a bit off... still a remarkable job though!
i'm not sure what it is, maybe some tiny details like that, but yeah! is absolutely brilliant!
You're not the only one. The part where the figure's hair is curly looks more like the real Ben than the Oscar-esque figure
For some reason he looks so tired, or something like that, I totally understand!
Yohana Vargas Yes
i have seen many of these sculptures but this is by far the best one I have ever seen
can they like mass produce this to make millions of women happy? :D
Jesus! Speaking as an artist, I'm lucky enough to even draw his profile correctly!
wow this is the first time I've seen a wax figure actually look like the person
Can't believe how well this turned out. Congratulations to the extraordinarily talented people who worked on this!
love you team for giving us THIS!
John Cormican is a brilliant sculptor. Very well done. Congrats to the entire team.
jesus fucking Christ that's too amazing 😭😭❤❤❤
Omg that sculpture of benedict Cumberbatch is marvellous.
You're all a Hell of Talents there. Hell of Talented Artists with a Hell of a Talented Actor!
They put the hair one by one
I'd go crazy if I had to do that. Really talented and passionate people to go that far for excellence.
Oh he's just so handsome, isn't he?
He is!
He surely is.
that is absolutely amazing! i can't get over the detail in his face!
ONE HAIR AT A TIME! OMG!!
God, the way he says 'Oh hellow'
I'm just melting, no wonder how many millonth time I've rewatched this !
The eyes! I had to freeze on that part. I wonder if they customized the right eye to show the brown spot, or did it not show? Fascinating, and the best likeness I've ever seen. Wow!
Omg only three months and it’s THIS GOOD!? Well done everyone, I could never do that 😃
Oh My Goodness!!
The figure looks way too real!!
Fantastic!
Hey! I took a selfie with that one, while on vacation in London last year. So beautifully done.
Gente, até as veias da mão!!! FIcou muuuuuito perfeito!!
This was one of the bests I've seen so far
thats slightly creepy but I'll have one for my room
I would be blushing so hard if I were painting his face 😭😭 So up close and personal to his CLONE!! 😭
OK.... I'll take one Sherlock, One Dr.Strange and One plain Ben. C.
thank you.
What this is amazing. These artists are very talented; I was especially impressed by the process of coloring.
This is a very interesting video! I have always wondered how they made wax figures of celebrities.
You guys even got the freckles! Brilliant job!
Such skill. They are amazing at sculpting-- truly masters at their craft.

I may have to snatch him up...
... N'yes,... yes, indeed ;)
OMG this is fantastic! The accuracy... it's perfect... The talent, patience... When they were colouring I really couldn't differ whether they were doing make up on real Ben or were colouring the figure. You guys did a great job!
WHY DONT THEY MAKE A SHERLOCK HOLMES FIGURE OF BENEDICT AND WATSON?
I wouldn't mind having that job to stare into his face and make it look like him. :) Beautiful creation. Great job by the staff!
They actually got one right. Wow.
Every hair ONE BY ONE :O
That's dedication to your art! Well done.
THROW AWAY THE CLAYYY???!?!?!!??? BUT WHYYYY!!!!???!???! Its so beautiful
