Great walkthrough of your new amazing Kubota zero-turn, congrats Chris 👍🏻. It's a sweet looking machine 🤤😂. I'm glad to see Kubota cut out an opening for the oil change. I watched Don @Don before dawn and he has the Toro zero turn and he did an oil change on his last video and he had to buy a 2ft piece of tubing to get the oil to flush in a bucket. Congrats again Chris and have a great Sunday 👍🏻🙋🏼♂🙂
Thanks for watching Luc. I agree on the oil change. There was no way to change the oil on the Toro Timecutter that I just sold without making a God-awful mess! I am really loving this thing so far! Cheers! 🍻👍😎
Congrats, Chris! That is a really nice machine. I like lots of the features - like the ability to see/add hydraulic fluid, the heavy duty deck with easy height adjustment. 4 year, 500 hour warranty is amazing! If I were you- I'd use that Kubota only on clean/dry days. Keep it clean by using the TIMECUTTER for wet and muddy mowing. :)
Thanks Chad. So far, I love this thing! I really enjoyed my little Toro for the 17 years I had it, but holy cow, there's just no comparison. (Which you'd expect, of course, based on age, specs and price.) I listed the Toro on FB Marketplace and had about 50 responses in 24 hours. A guy drove all the way up to Richmond from Raliegh, NC to buy it! So...clean, dry days it is! 😉👍😎
Great overview - I have the exact machine bought last year. I added a custom seat cover, trickle charging adapter to the battery, ball/chain loop tow mount, thick rubber floor mat and a Kubota maintenance lift jack to mine. I really enjoy using it, more than my tractor mower.
Sounds like you're decked out pretty nicely Ronald! The difference between this and my old Toro Timecutter is just night and day...I'm loving it! Thanks for watching. 👍😎
Very nice presentation Chris . I have been looking at zero turn mowers for some time. I looked at several brands and levels of mowers from residential to full out commercial. The one I decided on is the very mower you bought, the Z412 -48 . I like you have a relatively small yard. I don’t need it but I want it. Your video is just one more reason to pull the trigger. Thank you
I have the Kubly’s GR2120 diesel lawn tractor. Mine has the 54 inch deck. Kubota has a very unique feature on that lawn tractor. They call it Glide Steer. It is a rod on each side that runs from the front axle to a clutch in the rear axle. When you make a tight turn, these rods will disengage the inside wheel and allow the 4 wheel drive from the front wheels to turn the tractor around in a very tight circle, actually making it a 3wd. It is a feature that works amazingly well. I think Kubota should be blowing their own horn much more over that feature. Brilliant design.
I've seen some of those mowers, nobody really sells them in my area, dealers can order them but they don't stock them because nobody here is interested in a $13,000+ riding mower...they go sub-compact tractor, compact tractor, or zero turn LOL. The glide steer feature keeps you from tearing up the yard in a tight turn, great setup they came up with for that. Although, if I need 4WD to mow a lawn the landscaping needs to be redone LOL.
I feel ya' Phil, but my willpower was weak and I couldn't stay away...I was weak! 😉 Also, thanks for the kind words, but when I hop out of bed each morning, I sure FEEL like I'm in my sixties!
Thanks Gord. It's probably not as much fun as that Sylvan, but I don't think the smile has left my face since I started cutting! Cheers, my friend. 🍻👍😎
Excellent. It doesn't take much time to get up to speed on the ZTR basic operation, although you definitely do get better with some experience. I think you'll very quickly decide you should have made the jump a long time ago! Enjoy!
Congratulations Chris! Nice machine! Lots of machines seem to be running the Kawasaki engines. I hear they are awesome. Thanks for the walk around , and again congratulations.so nice of you to give away some gifts. Cheers, Mike.
Hey Andrew, hope all is well for you and the Reger crew! Yeah, this thing is really well thought-out. It's like cutting grass with a Cadillac. Thanks for watching! 👍😎
Nice mower! I went to the same one day event at my local dealer. Didn’t get a new mower but did order my second rear remote and the mechanical self leveling kit for my loader. Great video.
I think you made a great choice...hands-down, the best thing I've done regarding my tractor was adding the two rear remotes! I truly believe they should come on every tractor! Thanks for watching. 👍😎
It looks like a great machine. Great review and it was good to understand why you decided to buy that model. It is always dangerous to go to a dealer open day 🙂
Congrats Evan, you are the swag winner! Send an email to me at the email address given in the mower video (22:55) and let me know you are the winner and where you would like me to send the hat. Also, which one you want...the light gray or the dark. Hope you're enjoying the new mower...I know I sure am! Here's the drawing: th-cam.com/video/iAHD2fvOYv0/w-d-xo.html
Heck, my uncle bought a Scag belt drive 36" walk behind mower in 1989 because my cousin kept destroying riding mowers. That old Scag mower is still going, on the original Kohler Command 14HP engine and original transaxle, but its also gear drive not hydro....its been used hard too, cutting grass, weeds, blackberry bushes, brush, etc. on pretty steep hills and its still going. I put new blades and belts on it a couple years ago, and did a full tune up on it as well....then took it out and mowed a 3 acre pasture with it....took a while, but it did great. Spending a little more money on quality machine is the key to longevity, that and keeping up with regular maintenance.
@@wildbill23c Yeah, Scag definitely builds a nice machine too. There are plenty of quality mowers out there these days. As you say though, the key to longevity is how it's cared for. Thanks for watching!👍😎
Hoping to get a good deal as well on this exact model Kubota zero turn mower from my local dealer in S.E. Texas. Look forward to any maintenance videos from you.
How does it cut? I keep hearing how great these mowers are but every video that seems to be out there in regards to these mowers are a couple years old. So thank you for making your video.
I've probably got about 10 hours on it, and as far as I'm concerned it cuts fantastic. I've cut some tall stuff, as well as lawn grass and been happy with both. Like with any "tall stuff" (i.e. at the Overlook when I hadn't been there in about 5 weeks, grass was literally 24" tall in some places) you need to make a couple of passes because the grass just lays down. On "normal" cutting...it's miles ahead of my old Toro. I'm planning on a review once I've got a bit more hours under my belt. Thanks for watching. 👍😎

I just bought the same mower this week. It’s my first zero turn so there’s a bit of a learning curve. I also bought a B2301 in 2020.

Yeah, I can see that. Not cheap, but good stuff. 👍😎
Very well built Chris.
Yup should get a good many years of use out of that unit.

@@watershedoverlook Not yet, but I'm impressed with the Kubota line of zero turn mowers.

No worries Gary. It was very impromptu, and nothing of any real value occurred. You didn't really miss anything!
