I think there are people who confuse dupes for outright copies (Revolution toed that line several times in the past) and yeah some cosmetic line owners throwing a hiss fit (ahem Kat Von Dickhead) and certain YTers snubbing drugstore brands does not help.
I have a major allergy to Mac lipsticks- so this is the perfect video for me. Love Maybelline’s formula, especially- but all of these drugstore brands I can wear 👍
I certainly hope that Maybelline has change their formula. My ex husband asked me not to ever buy a drugstore brand lipstick because he hated the taste. I haven’t bought a drugstore lipstick in almost 35 years. Oops, I’ll take that back. I did buy two from Remele.
I have been SO sick this week... my grandchildren visited for Thanksgiving and left me a little present! So I am working my way through my favorite youtubers' videos. Zabrena, I just cannot THANK YOU enough for being my drug store product "queen". I switched all my products to drugstore because I have retired early and have four grandchildren I'd rather spend my money on😊❤ My husband and I were finally blessed with a GRANDDAUGHTER so I am really loving shopping after raising two sons and having three grandsons!!

God blessed me with 2 perfect boys and I never take them for granted. It wasn't easy for me to get pregnant due to so many problems. I thank God every day for my boys

I'm sure that's a good part of the reason why they are not listed. As much as I love Zabrena, had she listed each MAC lipstick and its dupe, I might have been tempted to not watch the whole video. Likewise, if she had listed 7 MAC shades I'm not interested in, I wouldn't have clicked play. TH-cam keeps track of videos that are not watched until the end and every presentation that is "abandoned" impacts the content creator negatively. Same thing with the advertisement...when we don't watch at least 5 seconds after "Skip Ad", the channel host gets paid a fraction of what they'd earn if we let the ad run in its entirety.
So many things happened along the way but they got left behind formula wise. For a lipstick that pricey that turns your lips into a desert there are better options nowadays. They cheapened themselves further by doing collabs >.
YES! I remember when the collabs were special- remember the Hello Kitty collab? People STILL talk about it! Now they do TH-cam collabs like every other month and it’s like “urghhhh... LEARN YOUR DEMOGRAPHIC!”
YES! There's so much competition now and I know they're feeling it. For years on end they never ran discounts or sales, but most recently they've eaten some humble pie and started offering specials. Interesting!

They did improve stupendously. They're feel and tasted like cheap lotion back in the 90's. Has the same pathetic staying power as well.
