- Luke Shaw has suffered a new injury and confirmed it with a statement on Instagram, saying how devastated he is.
I don't for one second think Shaw isn't working, isn't grinding, isn't putting the effort in to return to fitness but there is an honest reality we need to discuss about Shaw and his future as a Manchester United player.

I don't for one second think Shaw isn't working, isn't grinding, isn't putting the effort in to return to fitness but there is no way we can plan with him in mind anymore. A sad reality and a consequence of that leg break all those years ago.
He said he was devastated!! How about us fans!! We have been devastated for years season after season begging for a left back especially for him to be fit enough!! It's high time Shaw looked for another club next season or we forcefully sell him off!!
When he returned from the leg break I think that was the best Luke Shaw we saw
We could allow him to walk on a free next summer. Cant see it though as no one will pay what Utd are so he'll be another Phil Jones for sure. Shocking decision by Utd to give injury prone near 30 yr old a 4 year extension. So dumb.
I go with the fourth option...they should loan him and pay half of his salary then sign a new left back..peace✌️
Another repeat of Phil Jones 😭
This should be last season for Luke Shaw at Man Utd
And we get rid of him, how?
@@johndirom8999stop feeding him, that’s how.
Ineos are forward thinking and might pay a year of his contract if he agrees to leave early and forego the other year.
It saves the club money and means Shaw can play/be injured for another club.
I know he isn't injured on purpose, but the club still has to function in it's own best interests.
If it were you, would you forgo an entire year of your contractual salary? Or would you sit tight like Phil Jones since there is no way you will earn anywhere near this sum any more?
Why would anyone forego a year of their contract. And why would anyone other club sign him?
He’s addivted to COD. He doesn’t like playing football he just loves getting paid for free . Good riddance ✋
Phill jones knew he was injured and still signed his new contract and knew how bad it was but kept it to himself so the club didn’t know how bad it was otherwise if they did why would they give him a new contract
If we rip the contract up he has no choice, we oay 12 months of salary and bye you go, only way he has a say is if we wanted to negotiate a lower pay off to canncel the contract
@@nickraoyj
Manchester uniteds tendency to give injury prone players long term contracts should be studied.
I feel the same way, as much as I like him. He was always one of my favorites, but I feel that his time as Manchester United has come to an end.
Thanks Shaw, for his decade long service. Time to give a young player his spot in the squad.
Thanks for being injured every single season some players will not play through any pain barrier and he’s one of them little fairy 🧚 bye bye
Martial was one of them
Too busy playing COD
Thank you for absolutely nothing
@@RAM335DI always said the same about Steven Hawking. Why didn’t he just stand through his illness and carry on talking 😡
@@MrJWrizzle don’t talk to me about illness. I suffer psoriatic arthitis one of the most painful illness out there yet I still do my best to keep fit and work it’s no excuse Manchester United’s fault for giving him the contract can’t blame him for taking it
i agree with you post. Shaw is not good enough anymore for Utd. It's about his availability and injuries. Not his skill or will.
has never been mourinho was right
It is sad really. Look at all the footballers that have broken their legs and all of them started to have consistent injury after that. But nobody, no fans will notice that.
He was regarded as one of the best left back and he could be the best. His devastating leg injury that he almost lost his leg was his downfall.
6 years playing with bolts in his legs before it being removed is not something normal footballers play with. Its the broken leg that causes him to have this bad injury list. Other parts are compensating the weaker leg.
One of the characteristics of all LIVING THINGS is they MUST MOVE..... "let him move"
He is 29 years old, injury prone for years, chose to go to the Euros and came back injured, sorry we are not a charity club, if INEOS are serious about getting Utd back to the top, then shaw has to be sold by the end of the season. Period !
Sold who'll want an injury prone player, no one
Amomin has a good advice to him. Retire early.
Yeh I don't see how we sell him tbh. I'm just sick of him, he clearly doesn't care. He's only making a statement because we have a new manager. Where was the statement when he got injured straight after playing for England?
@@dykam11 what? 😂
Yet another instance of airheaded decision-making in the front office.
Self-inflicted wounds at left back.
Throughout his stay at United till date he was fit for an entire season ONE TIME and the first thing he did was called out Jose Mourinho for benching him and telling him he isn't on the same level as other LBs. I mean the mentality is very important for professionals and I don't think he got that!
Shaw should never have been given another contract based on his previous injury history it’s a business first and he doesn’t fit the new criteria at United
It was ten hag who gave him a contract
Glazers, period.
No it was last year they didn’t learn from martial phill jones ffs crack houses are ran better then MUFC
He will be 100% for the internationals
the new phil jones
Phil Jones actually cared
Same energy everyone had for martial is the same energy everyone should have for shaw. His body is literally broken, time to go. No need for sentiment. UTD first
That’s not going to happen cos we all know people have different energy when someone is from a different demographic
The thing in Matial last season he was putting in the work and creating for Rashford but the bald head dude with the weird head shape begun to give Matial a fight and using Matial as a scrape goat
Shaw will just do a Phil Jones, he is protected by his contract.
@ ten hag and Richard Arnold have blood on their hands for giving him a contract till 2027
@@joseph4400 no idc he has to go
I really do feel for Luke Shaw as when fit he's still a quality player but trouble is he's barely available anymore. All these injury issues he keeps having isn't good. I just don't think he can ever stay injury free again. Years ago when he suffered his horrific broken leg he's had many issues since then. Maybe he needs to retire which will be a huge shame but we can't keep carrying passengers anymore
He has to go ✅
I feel really sorry for Luke shaw I'm sure most fans do, mainly because what could have been for him and for the club. A fit Luke shaw can be a game changer but it is also a game changer when he isn't available. I spent most of last season saying please please sign a LWB it has been clear to everyone with medical training that his body is not capable of top flight football and the delay in that decision is only harming his future mobility
We needed not sign a left back we had Alvaro Fernandez who's killing it at Benfica
Lost most of my empathy for him when he prioritized the Euros over his fitness.
Best player consistently for three seasons
When he was supposed to be healing, he went on national duty, Shaw is the weapon fashioned against him self
Is that what United has become, a home for the old and injured? It seems like it
It seems that Luke's body just isn't capable of the demands a professional footballer / athlete demands from it. It's time for him to face the reality of this and do the right thing. He's still a young man and the risk of constantly being in pain for the rest of his days, is that a price worth paying? I wish him all the best, must be so difficult to admit, it's over.
I feel for him but agree the club can no longer depend on him and as such he will be moved on this summer and club will find someone else
Did you actually watch the video? I can 100% guarantee you that he will not be moved on this summer.
@ under the old ownership we would have kept him but new ownership is ruthless and sold several players last summer at a loss. They will do the same this summer
First, great video❤❤🎉🎉
Such a bad thing to happen. Support to him
but I think it’s time
I have 0 sympathy for Shaw...he makes himself fit for england at the detriment to the team that pays him and has stuck with him...he gives 0 s**t for united, so we should do the same for Shaw!
That new background is the bomb!! Very Nice!!! Congrats Sam. You deserve it. You have come from far!!
I genuinely like the way you give your critical analysis man
Very sad that Luke is injured again. The reality is that we cannot rely on him in our future plans. A Rolls Royce is of no use if it is stuck in a garage. I assume he will see out his contract as he is virtually unsaleable and no one would pay his wages.
The only thing he is devastated about is Southgate isn't England manager anymore. He's a traitor to the club and should have his 200k a week contract cancelled
Absolutely 💯 this comment of truth should be on top 🔝
I hate to say this but he has to go! We got too many money hungry liabilities in this football club. We cannot afford to depend on him anymore!🤦🏾♂️‼️
I like shaw, when he's in the team playing makes our team better, but its time to let him go,its high time otherwise we're pure stupid.
Totally agree… it’s time for him to go somewhere else. He’s been given every chance and he’s been okay but, time for United to move on without him.
Shaw is a LIABILITY. He takes his wages for minimal playing time, and somehow comes out of injuries for international duty. Not only is he injury-prone, it's clear his priority is not Manchester United. There's no sugarcoating it.
United aren't a charity. Need to stop acting like one
Your solution being?
@OtherSideOfMorning get rid of all these clingers on or at the very least don't renew their contracts. Man utd have a history of doing neither.
@@OtherSideOfMorning
Simple, GET RID!
The strange thing is that it's always a different injury, and it was happening even before his bad leg break. It's like ankle, knee, muscle, foot, hamstring, ankle, knee, face, leg...
In contrast to other players like Bruno, Rashford, etc, who do the same training and rarely ever get injured, or might just miss 2-3 games..
Time to call it to an end
Both Shaw and Malacia should go. Even for Championship, Malacia is not good enough.
I had a similar injury to Shaw when I was 14 and it has haunted me in various forms throughout my life (I am 35 now). Obviously I am not an elite athlete with a team around me, but sometimes these massive injuries just stay with your body in one way or another. You should always have sympathy, he obviously tries. Going forward, we obviously need a new left back and another new/young center back, so I think he has to be moved on. We have to learn from the past of hanging onto players for too long. Yes, there is a very good player in Shaw, we've all seen it, but we can't pretend like there aren't other good, young players out there that deserve their opportunity and if taken, could regularly be available for the team. Not being available but being in the squad has a massive impact on the whole team and progression of the younger ones.
Luke Shaw's 4-year contract is the legacy of an extremely bad management at United. The blame lies squarely at the feet of the Glazers who put clowns like Ed Woodward and Richard Arnold to run the club. Awarding a 4-year contract to an injury-prone player is lunacy in the truest sense of the word. Nothing against Luke Shaw. He's only looking after his own interests.
Really sad for him . Such a great player in his position may be one of the best in the PL
Stuck with the walking wounded ~ only happens at Man Utd 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Either bow out in grace or be told to leave…… Choice is his.
Totally agree with your statement regarding we need to move on without him… Without knowing the exact history of each injury it appears his body is not capable of sustaining Premier League football… In fact quite a lot of his injuries appear to have happened in training which makes his case even worse…He did fantastic to recover from that terrible break years ago and retain the standard he did but sadly it’s over and I’m pretty sure he knows that.Sorry Luke but thanks for everything mate.❤
Everyone knows that England signed Shaw from Man United a long time ago... The fact that he went to the Euros... Never shouldn't have give him a new deal...
Let that guy go, that's it! 😡
How?
Man has a contract(that United should not have given him)
Easier said than done I'm afraid.
He could come to Sporting and restart his career.its less demanding than the PL but strong enough for him to regain his desire to win.
Logic says paying him off is the same as keeping him till his contract runs out only that keeping him might still have him play 1 or 2 games. His remaining salary is enough to buy another Mazraoui plus a year’s salary so think of that.
Great video Sam
I'm as pragmatic with Shaw as with Rashford's cases, they need to output regularly. Any situation where the norm is that you just don't know if you can count on the player, whatever are the surrounding circumstances, you need to let those players go and see if it works better for them at another club.
I think most people are devastated, he needs replacing though. As good as he was he’s never gonna be fit for more than a game or 2. If Ineos were to release him surely he would come to some agreement because of the amount of money he’s been paid whilst injured for the club
Club needs to write a clause in new contracts regarding missed games and serious injuries players who can't play week in week out could be paid off
He should just be sold at this point
easier said then done his contract is till 2027, currently injured , not one club is gonna take a risk and go for him at his wages, we gonna be stuck with him till 2027 most likely
Sometimes injuries cause systemic weakness. You can have the best physio in the world. Footballers are always rushing back to fitness. In all honesty he probably needed a year off to fully strengthen all tendons. Muscles respond quickly but ligaments do not. Nerves can be disconnected along the neuromuscular pathways for months. Have united got time. Amass needs to be brought into the squad. I’ve been watching him for a couple of years and he’s strengthened his physicality by a mile this season. I think he can handle it. Awesome going forward and defensively tenacious in the challenge. He just needs to learn the responsibility and accept it.
*Option 5:* Sit does with him and see if he's open to restructuring his contract to a more bonus related one (like Michael Owen used to have, with similar fitness concerns).
Even if he can't play every game it's great to have experienced heads like that around the squad (him, Evans, Erikson, etc).
It's not like we're "wasting" him (like we do some players) and he'd be playing a lot more football somewhere else. This could suit both parties.
It's an option.
I think it's unlikely, as it would affect his pay. (And probably a lot, given his injuries)
The loan idea, with United subsidizing part of his salary - like we did with Sancho - would be the most economically savvy option for club and player...not sure any club would take the risk, though.
He currently gets around £175K a week.
With 2.5 yrs left on his contact, that's near 23mil if we terminate his contract.
If we are able to get half his wage covered (I'm an optimist😅), that at least frees up a space in the squad and lessens the salary burden a little.
I said about 3 (maybe 4) years ago that this guy is constantly injured so why have him? Sell him. He's sitting on massive wages so he's not that "devastated". Sell him. He's evidently uselss to us. Constantly injured is helping us how?
What annoys me is that he criticized the club’s handling of his injury
Why's he only making statements now? Been injured for a decade. I have no sympathy, we all know he puts England above Man Utd. He needs to go regardless, but to pretend there isn't a lack of commitment is disingenuous
Everton bound
Whoever it was that okay’d a 4 year deal for Shaw should be sacked. Absolutely ridiculous, saddled the club with a highly paid injury.
Ten Hag has blood on his hands
Which clown is responsible for giving him a new contract? 🤔
i would like Shaw to stay in the club in some capacity, whether that be a player coach while he does his badges. But if he wants to continue at this level, he will need to move on, but I can't see anyone taking the risk on him
Luke Shaw has a contract worth £150K per week until June 2027. Over that time his salary will be £19.5 MILLION. If you think that he will walk away from that contract, or another club will take him on those wages, paying a fee for him...i have a bridge that i want to sell you!
Also, which club will sign him on loan and pay, say, half his wages (£75K per week) for a player that CAN'T be guaranteed to play half of the games over that loan contract.
He will stay at United and play on and off (more off) until his contract is done and we let him walk away in 2027. No-one will buy him, he won't be loaned, and he won't go for any fraction of his wages - why should he?!
Feel so sorry for the guy.
His body is broken, he only has to do his job 1 game a season, and earns 100k+ a season.
Yet people have the cheek to mention the 250 regular wage employees INEOS have let go. Some people have no empathy.
Luke Shaw is the real victim here.
3 more years. Another Martial, Phil Jones we’re stuck
Should’ve been sold the season after his leg break, but this club are a total shambles. Now he’s outstayed about 6 managers since then and played about 2 season worth of games. Just tear up his contract and boot him out. DDG got treated worse than Shaw and DDG was our player of the season numerous times and Golden Glove winner.
Shaw needs to play in a bit slower league to regain his form and consistency before he can integrated back to the team
You make sense.
Good luck to Shaw injuries spoiled everything
This I really unfortunate for Shaw. However, we'll have to move him on even if we take a loss because getting rid of his wages will help our club in the long run.
I'm 57 and train every day and heavy spar ( in muay Thai ) every week and do not get injured like Luke Shaw. He should be in a nursing home!
How many chances does he want? He has to go this summer.
He did everything to make the England squad but he couldn't be bothered with getting ready for United. I have no compassion for him
Get rid. Never available. But when it’s too do with England he’s available. Give players like Amass a chance and with Malacia coming back he deserves the opportunity’s
The end of Luke slowly started after that Leg Break
Sick to death by this sick note. Rip his contract. Give Harry Amass the job long-term
Man Utd should try and sell him to Saudi Arabia. No club in Europe will want to buy an injury prone player on those wages.
How is he getting injured when Amorim clearly said we don't train now because of the little time to recover between games .. all we do is walk and jogging 😂
He also said if you are not playing you are training
@@Shadow_Blazer who will train then when 11 players are on the field 6 of them played full 90 the test of them played 60 or more ? The one from the bench will train on the next day with the youngsters so what kind of training do you think they do? Be realistic we have what 2 days 3 max between games and the first day is rest and the other 2 are probably video analysis and preparation for the next game no hard training
At 29, sadly, he is already at his peak and with this constant injury, best let him go
I hate how our fans are attacking him as if he prefers being injured. He can’t control how his body reacts. Some people have bad genetics or luck. Put the blame on Man Utd for not having had gotten a quality LB as his competition even b4 he was injured. The best clubs in the world usually have 2 good players for every position. I actually feel bad for him because he’s been class when he came on the last 2 games. Don’t hate on him, put the onus on the club.
Really sad. Feel sorry for Shaw. We have to move on without him. His days are numbered in a United shirt.😢

According to transfer market here is his injury record
If there is ever a clear example of poor nutrition being detrimental to injury recovery, it is Luke Shaw
I just cannot fathom the amount of ineptitude at United to not sign a LB in the hope that BOTH LB’s with long term injuries might come back as good as they were. Couple with the fact that Malacia wasn’t even that good when he did play! It’s just insane. Shaw needs to go and in January we need to get a LB as a priority. We NEED one.
I understand that Shaw suffered a broken leg a few years back now and that type of injury can end a career immediately in some cases. Shaw managed to come back to he's credit, but the last few years has seen he's injury count go threw the roof. He is ALWAYS injured. Shaw should have gone in Jose's time already. He has tarnished he's reputation this past season by going to the Euro's after missing the whole season for United. So he may not be faking injuries, but those types of decisions surely makes fans question whether that is the case. Sell him please.
He should take coaching carrier I think but it’s so sad😢
It never should've come to thus. The man's played in less than half available matches over thr last five years. At some point we'll before now, maybe of us came to the conclusion that he's too injury prone to rely upon. Too many talking heads and pundits backed him to the hilt, and some still do.
Read the room sooner, but more importantly open your eyes and mind to the basic facts. Shaws injury ruined his career and unfortunately, as much as we wanted it to work at united, we need to root for thr player ok another team. We can't carry players like this anymore.
I 100% root for him, he's my favorite left back of the last decade, but he hasnt been able to handle this league in four or five years
He must go simple
He should finish his career, the biggest part of 10 years in the club he is injured
Should be a clause on contracts around injuries..
Any other business doesn’t work the same.
Your ill you get sick pay!
Man, you’re worried about this thing as if you’re paying for it. I think the least we have to worry about right now is Luke Shaw.
Another Phil Jones , Martial , Hargreaves in the making . MU must not repeat the same mistake .
If Shaw is sincere & serious , put him in the pay as you play terms
Option no. 5. Seriously take up yoga, like Ryan Giggs. Will deal with his muscular and joint injuries. Yoga gave Giggs another 8-10 years of football life. Might work for Shaw.
Buy Alvaro Fernandez in January, and we're set for that LB
He was inexplicably fit for England, I found that very dodgy. I'll be happy to see him go
I am fed up with him.
Mourhino was right.
He has been consistently injured and nobody else will want to buy him.
Another player we cannot get rid off.
When i said eth has screwed us most of our fans did not see it. Eth should not have given bruno rashford dalot or luke shaw new contracts.
When have you ever seen us sell players? This renewing contracts to protect the value just doesnt work at man united. Highest price we sold a player for the past 10years is dan james for 25mil ffs.
Luckily there are no international games coming up
Hes played 50% of the games since he joined 10 years ago. It sucks cos of his day hes phenomenal, but enough is enough he has to go
He has a huge contract.
150k /week.
If he is on a pay to play; very worth it.
Good player but he needs to just accept the reality that injuries costs us alot
I was done with Shaw when he decided to go to the euros instead of fully recovering
Before Shaw was given his new contract I said it was a foolish move. It should have been a year with option to extend.
honestly he can forget about pro football he has got given current contract by Arnold while he was injured that says all
