    In this comparison, we’ll be training a magnifying glass on two beds that seem similar, but are actually quite different: the Helix Twilight and Helix Twilight Luxe. Though both mattresses were designed to satisfy the same kind of customer (side sleepers who want firm support), they come at the demographic in two totally unique ways.
    Sleepopolis maintains an affiliate relationship with some of the products reviewed, which means we get a percentage of a sale if you click over from our video (at no cost to our viewers). Also, many mattress and sleep product companies send us their products for free with the hope that we will like it and review it. However, there is certainly no guarantee that we will review it favorably. See our full disclosures here: sleepopolis.co...
    So, which is better for you: The no-frills, standard Twilight or its slightly more glamorous Luxe counterpart? Below, I’ll highlight all their major similarities and differences, so you can land on the mattress that’s going to be 100% right for your specific sleep needs.
    Before we get into the differences between the Helix Twilight Luxe and Helix Twilight mattresses, let’s take a second to go over their similarities. That way, we’ll be better able to contextualize all the factors that distinguish the beds from one another.
    The Helix beds feature a sturdy system of pocketed coils intended to lift the sleeper up and out of the structure. While these sections differ in design (which we’ll explore more fully in the construction section below), they both produce a lively bounce that informs the feel of each mattress. According to Helix, the Twilight and Twilight Luxe were built for side sleepers who want firm support, which is why both of their pocketed coil systems are overlaid by gentle foam top layers.
    Helix sells two lines of mattresses, the standard Helix Line and the Helix Luxe Line. There are six beds in each collection, and every standard model (from softest to firmest: Sunset, Moonlight, Midnight, Dusk, Twilight, Dawn) has a Luxe counterpart (Sunset Luxe, Moonlight Luxe, etc.) All that to say that if you like the Helix brand, but aren’t sure the Twilight is right for you, there are a plethora of other options to explore.

    I'm so happy this review exists! I'm a back and stomach sleeper, so I got the Dusk based on Helix's recommendation. It's just a bit too soft for me and has been giving me some gnarly backpain. I'm not a fan of the latex style foam on top either.
    My old mattress was very firm and had a thin layer of memory foam on top that just worked well for me, so the Twilight seemed to be the closest model to that.
    This review pretty much confirms that! I feel much more confident in exchanging for the standard Twilight now. Thank you! :)

    great review between 2 amazing mattress choices and i think the Luxe would be better for me due to the fact that its softer and better for side sleepers with better pressure relief...it looks like an amazing bed and thank you for all of the info on the different Helix options

    I like the Luxe option for the extra layer of memory foam for extra pressure relief and a softer feel. I need to take the Helix quiz.

    After your video yesterday I was wondering what all of the differences between the two Helix mattresses were. I gotta say I like the original Helix better because of its firmer support and more bounce. It sounds like an excellent option for a stomach/side combo sleeper like me. Thanks for the comparison!

    The poly coils are very unique. I've never seen those in a bed. I am not a side sleeper but I definitely could use support in my some. Thanks!

    Lots of different models to choose from, wish I could try each one out for a week. Parents said they'd prefer the Moonlight Luxe but then I did the quiz for them and Helix recommended the Nightfall. Interesting results!

    I like that you have the option for a latex alternative foam rather than memory foam (even though its not a true latex)

  • @lauriearnheim1323

    I think between the two, I like the Helix Luxe better. We are both primarily side-sleepers. Although the extra layer of gel memory foam seems like it would be really nice, I don't know if the 6.5/10 firmness would be soft enough for us. Both seem like nice options. Thanks for the great review!!!

    I would love having either of these mattresses as they both seem reasonably firm with some sinkage for side sleepers.The cooling cover option is also a big plus.I like the idea of foam and pocketed coils also..

  • @buneface

    Being a back and side sleeper I think the Helix Luxe would be more to my liking. I really need the soft support for my hip (that I am having some issues with). A harder surface (like I know have) just makes me wake up with a sore hip. It would be worth the extra price for the "pressure relief" the Luxe offers.

  • @logancougs

    The pressure test with the pad and different colors us my favorite way to see if a mattress is good for me since I am a side sleeper. I wish that would have been shown side by side.

    I prefer the Helix Twilight. It seems like a great value and quality but the whole Helix line of options should have something for everyone. Cooling gel layer, couples' low motion transfer, bounce and softness for those who don't want firm, and coils that look like they will last without uneven squashing down.

    I think I'd prefer the firmer Helix mattress, plus that cooling cover option sounds amazing. The Luxe just seems like it'd be too soft for me. I'm also really interested in the other versions you referred to that have the latex like material instead of the memory foam, that sounds ideal.

    The Helix mattresses seem great. I like the densities of the foams in the Nightfall. I think it's a great choice for those who want a durable mattress, even if their petite or medium sized. I also really like the Twilight Luxe or Dawn Luxe, but they're very expensive. For the price, I'd rather have a Winkbed or Winkbed Plus.

  • @hutchrt0596

    I really did like how you ended this with the comparison! I've really been concerned of the higher price of the luxe translated into a noticeable difference in "feeling," not just warranties and quality. If I could just get the basic and add a cooling cover option or the luxe still "feels" that much better?

    • @chelseagranger6434
      @chelseagranger6434 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      same! i have the sunset right now and could use a smidgen more cushion under my shoulder but.....is that extra cushion worth another $600? probably not. it's impossible to find reviews of the sunset luxe

    • @hutchrt0596
      @hutchrt0596 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@chelseagranger6434 we purchased it and it wasn't as plush as I expected but was great. Unfortunately, I sleep most times with my arm under pillow and this really hurt. I felt it needed to be more plush, although coughing up more money for the Luxe would have fixed this since it has zones. But, encouragingly, I messaged them about returning it and they sent me a free plush topper and that did make it much better. I recommend mentioning it to them and get it free!

    I want to say the Twilight Luxe would be best for me as a primarily side sleeper. However being very light & a combo side/stomach sleeper would be very interested to know if it would still have enough lower back support. Just had to go for xrays yesterday due to pain on my sleeping shoulder & I fear both too firm as well as not enough lower back support.

  • @horacesilver5238
    @horacesilver5238 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I'm about halfway into my trail period and 6ft 208 lbs. Have the twilight..and yes I love a firmer feel, but honestly, a little too much pressure on my shoulder and a bit on my hips as a side sleeper. I don't need it to be much softer, just a bit. I'm wondering if the Twilight Luxe would remove that pressure while still offering that firm support.

  • @kathrynmorris2552

    I did the quiz with my BF included and put all our info in and then again with just myself cause my opinion on the mattress matters more and I got the Midnight both times. I've done the quiz multiple times varying our weight and sleeping preferences (back vs side for me and back side and stomach for him), and whether I like soft or medium and got Helix Moonlight (only when I selected I like soft) or Midnight if I selected medium if it was just me OR if I put him and me in with mine as soft and his as medium
