You have quite a setup, I am sure you've produced many great results with them as they are indeed still great cameras that still delivers great results as well as being very reliable. :-) I thank you very much for watching, I wish you a great time, stay safe and have fun shooting! :-)
You are one of the best bloggers, combining interesting storytelling and concise information. I had this camera, it did not cry out anything but positive emotions. True, I could not make her friends with shooting on open apertures, even despite the adjustment. Maybe this is a feature of my model. What are you doing blogging for?
Canon 50D with Canon camera grip i stil have it, bought it in 2011 brand new for portrait studio shot in University for graduating High School students and has produced great images using Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L lens and Visatek studio lights. For video using Magic Lantern and smart phone for audio and sync it in post productions is way very easy.
I used to have 40D and 7D during many years ago. At Jan-2023, I bought a NOS (new old stock) BG-E2N battery grip. Meanwhile my friend lend me a EF 28-70 f/2.8 L Gen1. Cool. So I decided to buy a 50D body, let's make these great equipment goes live again.
I was originally a Nikon shooter. At that time, asking a sales person which one was better? Nikon or Canon, and the common answer was Nikon has better image quality, but Canon was always easier to use. In as much as DSLRs was expensive back then, you are relegated to one or the other. I graduated to Sony with mirrorless, but kept my Nikon bodes and lenses. These days certain DSLRs can be had for pennies, so became a gear collector, and now have a chance to evaluate Canon bodies. It all boils down to good enough without being critical, but if you are being critical, this particular body have the 15mp sensor, and wasn't very successful at the time, which was backed up by DXOmark, as this camera wasn't really resolving the resolution that the sensor was capable of. -- Every sharp lenses rated the same as the 40d, even 3rd party lenses like the Sigma Art lenses, when they resolve much more with the competing Nikon bodies (D7000, d7100), it is the body sensor's fault. It was still performing like the 40d, back then when you have to spend over a thousand dollars to upgrade, and yet the camera did not make a difference compared to the 40d, it was really a waste of money. This is still a great addition to my collection as I got it for about 100 bucks.
Thank you so much for watching and also for the kind words!! Really helps me wanting to continue making more of these videos! I wish you a great time, stay safe and have fun shooting! 😊😊
@@DavidCuhls You're very Welcome David. You offer up some very good insight, and exposure to these older cameras, and provide a good service for anyone that might be considering an older camera for purchase!
Used mine for most of the time shooting motorsports. Got mine since 2010. Built like a tank, still satisfactory image quality. But because i shoot racing events in recent years, I find it slow now. I still use it today as finding a new one is kinda stretching my wallet. I live in a not first world country 😅
Nice video, what lens is that on 50D? I got my copy for under $80. The colors are amazing, the menu is easy to understand. It does struggle in low light, but it doesn't matter. It's a pleasure to take photos with this camera. My issue is that the batteries (New Ones) do not last long.
The Canon 50D is a great camera, and the sensor is slightly larger 22.3x14.9mm than the Canon's other APS-C cameras 22.2x14. 8mm. When using flash especially at night you get really good clean images up to ISO 1600.
Thank you very much for watching as well as for sharing your experience, very much appreciated it. I wish you a good time, stay safe and have fun shooting :-)
i think the 50d is a repackaged t1i in weather-sealed steel body but with no video and faster fps. i think the 7d is a repackaged t3i in weather-sealed steel with no articulating screen but faster fps. (not meant as an attack; rather, just my opinion).
Please help me ! I have a Canon 50d. When I use it in manual mode with built-in flash, and a second lateral flash with umbrella, with optic trigger, the image is very dark. If I use built-in flash only, the image is normal. So, when work both flashes, the images are dark. I tried to set flash in second curtain, but without results. I can't understand what happen. Can you tell something ?
With Canon M50 (Mark) , M1 , 30D I don't have to worry about Shots in Darkness or too Much lights ?! But I'm a gamer😂😂😂 ! Just bought this camera of Ebay Cheap and I'm going in Old School with it !!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
i use the 50 D faorit for low light/dawn fotographi as other , in strong daylight i use a old eos 350 well konw that have a low resultion as iso seting but the resulution is uok for and she have for Naturefotography a very porfound/intensiv collor i only can speak for and also do not like to for other person...
I think for general purpose of shooting Safari, it will get the job done for sure as it allows you to get from semi wide to telephoto range with just a lens. Furthermore, the 50D's autofocusing system is still good to tracking general animals in the wildlife, so I am sure that when used properly, you will come back with a lot of good images. :-) I hope that helps. I thank you very much for watching, I wish you a good time, stay safe and have fun shooting! :-)
It does add video but with no audio recording nor any af assist features though. Hope this helps. :-) I thank you very much for watching, I wish you a great time, stay safe and have fun shooting! :-)
Hi! I am currently looking to purchase this camera, however I am not too sure on what lens I should get for it. I am looking for the best I can get for under a £100; but I am not sure on what I should look for... Any advice willl be much appreciated :) Thanks!
I don’t understand why they would make a camera that can’t take video.. I mean even if it’s not the best it’d still be nice to have something that can take photo and video.
I am really sorry for saying it too many times. Thank you for watching and for your feedback. I will do my best to improve my future contents. I am deeply sorry again that my content irritated you… I wish you a good time and have fun shooting
My 50D is my main camera. I can't afford anything newer, but after messing around with friend's newer cameras I can easily say the 50D still holds up.
When did it hold up...........10 years ago??
I own this 50D and I really love it. Old but gold and its build tank to last forever. Thank you for your review. Im gonna keep this.
I have a 50D and i really like it, nice colors. I use it mainly in good light conditions at low iso.
I grabbed a 50D today. Was used in an eye doctors office for pupal photos. Excited to put it through the ropes.
How many pupils did the eye doctor have?
I agree, no way the 60d is an upgrade to the 50d ... The true upgrade to 50d is the 7d then 7dii
I have a 50, 60, 80D and they all work very well and still make me $$$

Nice one. I still have my camera 50D and using for events. Using different lenses the captured is still unique. ❤
I'm getting an Canon 50d in a few weeks, very excited about it.

Thank you for your overview of Canon 50D . I just acquired one, so this information is very helpful
I'm also a 50d user, can you make a tutorial for the correct settings for modeling or landscape photography

you seem very passionate with the subject! great job and congratulations :)
I still have the 50D, after 90k shots, and thinking about upgrading to 90D... I know that whatever I choose, 50D will feel better :D

What is your annual income?
I love my 50d but my question is: Would I take better pictures with a 80d ore 90d? Have you made some comparisson?

Is it better than newer cheaper models like EOS 3000D ?
i think the 50d is a repackaged t1i in weather-sealed steel body but with no video and faster fps.
i think the 7d is a repackaged t3i in weather-sealed steel with no articulating screen but faster fps.

30D or 50D? when it comes closer to 5D file or looks of the photo ??
how the images compare with 40d please?
How does the image quality and shooting experience compare to the Nikon D300 you review a few months back?
The true successor to the 50D was the 7D.

Wonderful review, very complete
Would this camera with a EFS 18-200 lens be ok to use on an African Safari? Thanks

Im shocked it has live view
I don’t understand why they would make a camera that can’t take video.. I mean even if it’s not the best it’d still be nice to have something that can take photo and video.
This camera came out when not many dslrs didn’t shoot video except for very few(like 5d mark ii)
