Dr Nefarious is the most recurent antagonist in the saga but he has a limited impact on Ratchet's Universe, I think that Tachyon is the most important antagonist of the saga
Tachyon had no impact whatsoever until he was created as a way to retcon Ratchet's past. Up until RCF, his home planet was Veldin. And he was never the last Lombax as Angela proves. It could easily be inferred he was just living on his own and not an orphan. Tachyon is little more than another Drek crossed with Ripto from Spyro and Nefarious himself, just hating a species instead of all organic life. Nefarious at least honors classic B movie Sci-Fi and has an established arch rivalry with both Qwark and Clank.

The game was better (not a whole lot, but better still), but that's about it. Yeah I'm a purist all the way when it comes to adaptations and stuff like that.

Crack in Time is easily the best Ratchet and Clank ever made. And that’s even after playing Rift Apart. For me, the story of this game really hit deep and got me so heavily invested. More than what pretty much any other game has done
@@bazinga3197 agreed. With the exception of All 4 One (IMO), the games since then definitely dropped in quality. Full Frontal Assault: Tower Defense game with Ratchet & Clank characters. Really nothing special. Into the Nexus: was too Short, had villains that I think were underutilized, and they did Cronk and Zephyr dirty killing them off like that. Remake for PS4: great gameplay, but too kid friendly in tone, and it bears the sin of what it represents: the movie. I have yet to play Rift Apart since I don’t own a PS5, so I have yet to see how it fared compared to the other games. Don’t spoil it for me.

I theorised they killed Cronk and Zephyr like that to give the player a motive to actually complete the game with a passionate reason to do so. And trust me, you won’t be disappointed with Rift Apart. Despite Lawrence being mistreated by his boss for so many years he still has the respect to get him in a nick of time & fixed his damages except for his radio brain malfunction moments & the scar on his face.
Just checking out these scenes to remember the good times. The new game really neutered him in every way. It's bad enough to not have Lawrence, but Nefarious had comparatively no intelligence or humor in Rift Apart
For sure, i am quite disappointed. Watching a playthrough now and it immediately stuck out out to me. He has this different cadence in his voice when he speaks that just makes all his lines seem off. Not as intensive perhaps? I also heard that he doesn’t have any of those Lance and Janice moments as well, that scene on the hologram when he has that tantrum over the forge personnel falling for the ‘interior decorators’ bluff would have been a perfect and hilarious moments to slide one of those in. It’s such a shame since I quite like every other aspect of this game. If they’d nailed this it would have been perfect. At least we’ll always have these old ones to appreciate and look back on.
@@MisterLambda my biggest problem is that Rift Apart acts like he is a failure you isn't a true threat, yet before Rift Apart he took over dozens of planets and enslaved all of their inhabitants. By belittling Nefarious like that, it also downplays Ratchet's accomplishments. What's the point of making Nefarious a non-threat? Just to build up a "superior" new Nefarious who doesn't even do anything as memorable as the old Nefarious.
Dr. Nafarious is the best villain in the whole series because he is pure evil, loves toying with the good guys but also funny as hell especially when he gets scared and jumps 5ft in the air
