This will be an awesome build, couple tips, put a fusible link in the engine bay loom some didn't have them, slave cylinder used to go for the clutch all the time, if you put a stromberg from the xb falcon, you'll get better fuel economy, just a couple of things from somebody who had one
I used to own one of those with bigger tyres and it went well for where I used it. Will be a bumpy and noisy ride after today's modern cars. Great project.

I had a g60 nearly 25 years ago as my 1st car so this build is awesome. The crossmember was completely rusted out as well on mine. The carby had been changed to one from a old Holden, which improved the fuel economy a little and was easier to source parts for it back then. Good times ahead

Awesome, got a mwb with a 265 hemi 6 and soft top that I'm rebuilding slowly. Those lwb ones aren't factory they are a conversion done back in the day by a separate company, just makes it that bit more rarer. Keen for the buildup, are you going for the tidy it up approach or full body off restoration?
Those are rear bumperettes not jerrycan holders, part of the originality of the G60, be a shame not to have them on. Nice you got a MWB, the shorty’s give a real choppy ride. The old 4by’s are great fun to drive and even more fun to wheel.

Parts are easy to source. Carby kit from Repco. Engine overhaul, Evil bay and Superior Engineering. I’m in the process of rebuilding mine right now.
I would kill for those full length scrub rails for my 77 mwb KG60.

It wasn't running on gas when we got it so it was only a matter of removing lines, tank and a few electrical bits and pieces.

I reckon they’re old bumpers mate. Not jerry holders. The 40a have similar ones but I reckon they look crap so I’m not putting them back on my 40.
