Ok so it'll have a bit of a flat spot in the middle but should be ok if you keep the revs up. I have V&H straight shots on my carb TC 88. It's all relative, on a little island like GB they are still LAF.
yes, i had the carb re jetted before...A MUST. and kinda, its a small bracket that holds the pipes together towards the transmission(you will have to grind down the screw that comes with the kit) but other than that, bolt them to the head, wipe them off and your ready to ride.
V&H sent me another set of map codes to try and get rid of some popping, but they also told me that its gonna pop no matter what, I will put the new codes in and let you know what happens.
Keep playing with the mapping on your Fuel Pak. If you get the fuel-air ratio just right through the map, it shouldn't pop. You could take it to a shop, and have them dyno tune it.
Yes sir, do that first or at the same time. You just need a rejet kit, any mechanic can do, or if you wanna tackle yourself, its not to complicated. I think, revzilla has a video on rejetting a carb.
yes and no, I bought the gasket and the header mounting kit separately. gaskets were easy as 1,2,3 & the brackets fit, I just had to be muscle man to make them
My buddy Kool Aid has a sporty that's fuel injection no thanks I'm a carb man .his bike has to be tweaked with some computer bull shit.just to put slip on pipes

you know what's interesting, I actually lost a little power with these on the low end, but the upgraded air cleaner fixed that.
Sick ass shit.bro those pipes are loud and be proud.
Just put these on my 96 RK 88ci n I love the sound
Nice man! I still have them on mine and the sound NEVER gets old. Ill be doing an update video in the springtime.
@@JahshuaGiveon I have to correct myself my bike is a 80ci evo 1340
don't lean to far to the right ... made that mistake now I have to cut mine straight
happened with me yesterday!!
I've been looking in to getting these pipes for my sportster
Did you change your pilot jet? And are these bracketless pipes?

my loud pipe Brotha lol, what's going on with the codes? did you get the popping under control?
Have the 09 1200 low with these on it.
Sound nice, question where did you the pegs I been looking for the same ones for my Sportster?
no clue they came with the bike when I bought it. try jpcycles.com if you haven't yet.
Thanks man, I been looking every where I think they are H-D part but have been discontinued
+Key2pwr you might be right, I saw them on a wide glide not to long ago. good luck homie
thanks
i have the same pipes on my sporty, but my pipes are always poping......alot. any advice to fix that....its FI and i have a V&H fuel pak.
yea mine do the same thing, that's the result of straight pipe. not really anyway to fix it...that I know of

Torque cones
Just bought one with these pipes on it
Do you have to tune the carb if you put these pipes on?

@@JahshuaGiveon sounds good. Thanks buddy
Just a jet kit is all
What happened to the old O2 sensors ?
Steve Riggs didnt need any, mine is a carb.
did you have to change the exhaust gasket? was it a pain?
yes and no, I bought the gasket and the header mounting kit separately. gaskets were easy as 1,2,3 & the brackets fit, I just had to be muscle man to make them
+Jahshua Nutall so did your stock flanges fit or no? I'm guessing brackets you mean flanges? gaskets weren't to bad?
+Brandon Bilger no they didn't, an yea flanges lol. the new gaskets fit fine, no big problem taking out old ones
yes exhasut gasket installs are a pain unless you get the copper rings, those are easy to install.
@@tommyboy1986 copper is better too the mesh can obstruct the flow robbing you of power
what jet kit did you use?
Josh Russell not 100% sure, I just took it to the local mechanic an he did the rest
Is there any way to mount them or do they just hang off the engine?
they just kinda hang there, there is a small bracket that holds them together but thats about it. honestly no problem with movement or anything

Hahah right lol
There's not to many carbureted motorcycles out there? Is that suppost to be a joke? Lol.
Sort of, but just stating a fact.
Harley went fuel injected in 2007 and up almost all motorcycles are carbureted before 2002
@@Scooter3194 Sportsters went fuel injected in 2007. Bigger twins were fuel injected many years prior.
