  • This project was recorded on October 2022, on a session starting from 11 PM straight to around 7 AM! So bear with me if I was not speaking clearly at some points of the video :D!
In this video I have disassembled the main part of the piano Yamaha Clqvinova CVP-305, replaced the upper and lower stoppers (felts), fixed the clicking sound of the keys, then cleaned and greased all keyboard keys.
It is worth mentioning that I have followed Yamaha's official service manual of this specific piano model, and bought the parts (i.e. stoppers and grease tubes) based on the part numbers mentioned in the service manual.
You can download that manual from this website: elektrotanya.c...
The spare parts that I used in this video are bought from audiotronics shop shop.audiotron...
    1. Blue grease for Yamaha Clavinova Keys GH3-GHD-GHS (Reference: YAM-AAX90710)
    2. White grease for Yamaha Clavinova Keys GH3-GHD-GHS (Reference: YAM-V6274301)
    3. Yamaha Clavinova bottom Stopper felt (Reference: YAM-GH-MousseBas)
    4. Yamaha Clavinova upper Stopper felt GH/GH3 (Reference: YAM-GH3-MousseHaut)

My piano (CVP-505) has the same problem. It makes noise when a key pressed and released. Thanks for your video.

I have a CVP307 and I have a couple issues with the keyboard. One is the sticky key but after opened the top and looked inside, I found the the stopper felt came unglued causing the hammer hung on the stopper. I cleaned and reglueed and that fixed the issue. My other issue is the lound note when soft press the key. It sounds like you're slamming the key hard. It happened on any instruments on some of the keys from upper part of the keyboard section to the second last G key. I'm wondering if this can be fixed DIY. Kindly appreciate your help or any suggestions Thanks.

      Hi @asarnthutube,
Yes, the loud note issue can be fixed. But first, check the settings of your piano to ensure that this issue is not a settings issue. Then, if you are sure that it is hardware issue, I believe the problem you are facing is from a faulty group of rubber buttons. In your piano there should be three levels rubber buttons under each piano note key. And these rubber buttons usully come in groups of 11 or 12 notes. So as per your description, mostly one of these groups is faulty. I believe this can be fixed by replacing the group of the faulty buttons. Check this link or find a local store that can send you this: artaudioparts.eu/products/rubber-contact-12keys-for-yamaha-cvp-305-307-309-403-405-407-409-503-505-605-609
By the way, I have also replaced them jn my piano, but unfortunately did not record the process. And I bought them from the same shop I mentioned in the description.
      Good luck!

@@sam.ammatouri Thank you for your informative post. Unfortunately, the rubber contact key from the link is out of stock. Do you know if another store might have it? By the way, can the faulty rubber buttons be reconditioned and reuse?

How much time did you actually spend before starting the stage 2? We need to solve the loud keys issue on CVP-307 and I'm trying to see how much time it may take us to reach the keyboard and potentially replace the stopper(s) (if the stoppers turn out to be the culprits). Thanks!

Well, I am not sure about the CVP-307, but I believe it is very similar to my piano 305. In my case it took a bit longer time because I was filming and working all alone. However, I can estimate that a person with skilled hands and with some support from another person, the process to reach into taking off the whole keyboard should take 1 to 2 hours, depending on the skills of the technician.

And for someone with some support from another person, both doing it for the first time on such an instrument?

@@inspirame7979 Well, for first timers doing such jobs, I would say no less than 2.5 to 3 hours, given the fact that you need to separate the screws in labelled containers, and to track back the steps, to ensure no mistakes are made..
My advice is to make yourself free for a day for the whole process.

There’s another video on TH-cam taking the back off the 307! I have one too and some of my central keys are a bit heavy to press. I think that dropping pad is my issue too.

Hi , is it possible to use the tuflUb crc instead of yamaha grease?
My yamaha area service doesn't have it.
Can you give me a link where to buy the one from yamaha ?

Hi Renato, I have no idea about that type of grease you mentioned. I would advise you to use only the official grease, or at least, try to get generic one that is designed for music instruments.
I bought the two greases (white and blue) from this store: shop.audiotronic.fr/en/
I hope they deliver to your area.
Btw, I just realised that I did not mention the spare parts numbers in the description. I will do so shortly.

Muito boa sua explicação. Tenho uma CVP305 com teclas agarrando e excessivo barulho. Mãos à obra.
