I too tried this staedler luna normal and water soluble. I felt water soluble is much better than the normal one. As you said when compared to other brand this normal staedler is poor. Good Review.

Doms super soft pencils or Navneet youva color pencils are very good for beginners and they are super affordable..

Which colour you used to give the shadow near nose

I used brown, dark brown, a pale shade of pink sometimes I remember used a dark blue near the nose a lot. This set doesn't give any name to the pencil so I can't give you the exact name..
