My fiance and I are a queer interfaith couple so I've been pretty excited trying to sort through what parts of Judaism I want to bring into our ceremony. That my partner is so respectful and open to learning about Jewish culture really helps. Ours is likely to be a very cultural hodge podge of a ceremony, but I think that is pretty beautiful too.
September 10th makes 17 years, we had a Jewish wedding even though I'm not Jewish we incorporated pretty much everything you talked about , but I had to explain everything and why we were doing everything in the ceremony LOL it was beautiful and fun. Thank you so much for speaking on this I love my wife

Your memories are beautiful! I’m so glad you had a Tish.
These are some unique touches we added to our wedding, 15 years ago.
- we had a quick ‘morning minyan’ (prayer service) before we started prepping for the big day and it was just such a lovely spiritual framing.
- we did a reciprocal Bedecken where I draped my groom in his tallit and he lowered his veil.
- we had a private moment to eat and drink and break our fast in the Yichud Room which I look back on very fondly - it was our ‘breather’ in a hectic day.
- we had tzedakah boxes at the reception and encouraged people to donate, increasing our joy.
- we had two bridesmaids carry memorial candles/votives throughout the processional and recessional so that the memories of our loved ones where never far off.
- for dinner, we had a huge, beautiful wedding challah.

Love the pretty dress you're wearing. The gallery wall in your bedroom looks delightful. With a Monday legal holiday, those weekends for weddings give one Saturday night for rehearsal, Sunday for the wedding, and Monday for the departures.

This makes me happy, I really want a Jewish wedding once I’m able to convert and find a nice Jewish partner but being a trans guy who wants to marry another guy it made it a bit hard (especially if I’m trying to convert modern orthodox) but I think it will go well, thank you for this video

Can you talk more to "kosher style" vs being kosher. I feel like kosher style is what I follow and I struggle putting it into words and not feeling embarrassed because I can't afford certified kosher food.

If the shmorgesboard of traditions your choosing from is just that.....a shmorgesboard....its not Judaism, but rather just a mish mosh of what you think is quaint....... unfortunately it really has nothing to do with Judaism.....you can make up your own things the way you want.....then its self traditional. Once again nothing to do with Judaism.
Then why do you bother to watch, no one is forcing you.
Wait you covered your face at your wedding but you have bare shoulders, that's a NoNo in most Synagogues!!!!
