Deffo one for holiday's abroad. I could have had a lot of fun with it when we used to fly to our holiday. Better than sitting at the airport for hours reading the same magazine 5 times.

Sorry Fred, but for the price, it's just not worth the money for me m8. If it half that price I might have thought about it. I'm flying out to somewhere in a few months time, & I can listen to air frequency stuff on my icom 92E no problem while I I sit in the departure lounge. I,m not really bothered about music, not that I'll hear much music on that from inside a Boeing 777 at 40,000 feet, lol. Listening to the air coms though should be no problem, lol.
      Kind regards,

I cannot think of anything as small as this one. The best portable SW radio i have is a Tecsun 600. You can get them used for less than £100. Wont go up to 1.5 ghz though. Have you thought about using an SDR dongle.

Looks like a very capable little radio. You do get better features on a bigger form factor radio, but you pay more too. The only change I'd want is a better external antenna socket, like an SMA connector which would give more versatility on the type of antenna used.

@@monotech20.14 my Han Rong Da HRD 747 is slightly insensitive on some radio bands, so I may get the other version just for interest. HRD version is great on MW, FM, Air band and some VHF like weather radio and VHF marine channels. Shortwave and CB is passable. Oh, the medium wave antenna is at the bottom of the radio, so holding makes you part of the antenna like on Sangean DT series radios. Last the battery, BL-5C is a common battery here. There are no private codes on PMR radios, the CTCSS and DCS is not private but if you use it only the station with the same code can answer you but all other will hear you, but they can't talk to you if they don't use the same code.
