Just a theory but in the 3:17 you can see old ruins to the left of the castle. If you consider that is the remains of the town in Link To The Past, which was the most western border of the game that means the western border has expanded further, which would explain the inclusion of Death Mountain and the Gerudo since the desert area would now be larger as well. That means the forest between the old mountain range and death mountain is actually the lost forest. I think the cliff face north of the old ruins would support the idea that it is the old town as well since that was a notable geographic feature of the town.
"Death Mountain" has no changed location. Death Mountain was called Mt Hebra in the original Japanese version, Death Mountain was it's Dark World counterpart. With that in mind, Mt Hebra is in it's same location, and they've added a a traditional Death Mountain parallel to it.

I'm so impressed you found so many same points from Twilight Princess. I think Zelda's dress in the first scene is the same as the one in Twilight Princess.
Actually, it looks like a cross between the dress worn by Princess Zelda in the Oracles games (which, I must add, was inspired by the dress of OoT Zelda) and Zelda’s Smash Ultimate costume (which is a hybrid of her looks from ALttP and ALBW).
One thing that I noticed : Tri has 4 triangles in its trail. From a gameplay point of view these triangles indicate how much an echoe costs (from 1 to 3 triangles with the zombie echoe). From a story point of view with 4 triangles we can recreate a full triangle... Which in my opinion is more likely to be the triforce of wisdom. So "Tri" may be Zelda's expression of the triforce of wisdom.
Looks really cool. Even if it is all the same land, making it all 3d adds a new layer to it. I definitely want to play this. I loved the other top down Zelda titles.
Oh this game will have alot of lore I just feel it, but it's weird that Nintnedo decided to put this lore into such child-looking game, I'm still happy tho! Couldn't be happier!!!
i feel like th alttp area of the map will just be the starting zone while this hyrule game would be vastly bigger we'll be able to see much more of it. I'm thinking the whole alttp map will be like the great plateau of this game.
@@wearywanderer1912 no comment has said to me that the Zonai *are* gods. I thought saying that was controversial tho lol Also apparently Links sword (not the master sword i think) looks Zonai, and some ppl have been discussing that? Idk, i dont interact much w the Zelda fandom and dont like how it has become
I do hope the sword and bow are a reference to Zonai. But I somewhat doubt it because Nintendo lately seems to not be caring much about lore consistency. For example, prior to TotK release Looygi made two trailer analysis pointing several Twili similarities to what was shown. But at the end of the day Nintendo just created the Zonai species out of nowhere with nothing to do with the Twilis. Supposed nods to previous games leads to nothing in the story, which is a shame. So what looks Zonai in EoW trailer might be something else (again). xD
hmm... the right-hand zora seem more like BotW ones, at least design wise... not sure if it's just because of N64 graphics limitations, but they just look too different
Finally! Someone mentions Four Swords Adventures when analyzing this game! Though, it's only for the Gerudo. But still, the fact there's so much more Child Timeline connections here than Downfall Timeline connections should be enough an indication that this game HAS to set in Child Timeline! Yes, the map IS similar to ALttP/ALBW, but do NOT forget that FSA's map was also similar to that map, and that got placed in the CT. Also, the CT needs more games officially set in stone in it's timeline anyways. Same goes for the AT, except there's no way this game sets in that timeline for obvious reasons. While the DT has enough games for now! So that timeline doesn't really need anymore games...for now.
I think Zelda is already taken to another world. This Link tried to shoot her, and is the villain, the deeper explored characterization of Shadow Link(s). This form happens when he's sent to Zelda's world, like reverse Bunny Link.
@@sboinkthelegday3892 🤦That Link is NOT the villain. He shot at her because he was trying to save her. He was shooting at the crystal, NOT Zelda herself. Seriously, you Link hating Zelda simps are so pathetic! You find every excuse in the book why Link is "evil" and that Zelda "should've been the main protagonist to begin with". Hating on Link solely only because he's a boy. Why don't we just make Veran and Twinrova heroes too because they're women? And women can do no wrong!🙄 Don't get me wrong! I LOVE and I DO RESPECT women! But stating things like what you just said, really more due to a character's gender is dumb. I mean, it's not like Zelda hasn't done anything wrong herself. She's stolen Link's house. Link hardly gets any recognition for the hell that he goes through, time and time again, trying to save Zelda's kingdom and sometimes even Zelda herself. The most recognition he ever gets his deeds acknowledged under a title like the "Hero of Hyrule" or "Hero of Legend" or whatever. But nobody knows it was him because Zelda doesn't care if they know or not because she doesn't actually care about Link. Probably the only Zelda incarnations we actually know to ever truly care about Link at all are SS Zelda, MC Zelda, FS Zelda (maybe), FSA Zelda (maybe), OoT Zelda (at least, during the events of OoT), WW/PH Zelda aka Tetra, ST Zelda, TP Zelda (sorta), and ALttP/OoX Zelda (sorta). It's unknown if ALBW Zelda or Zelda 1 Zelda ever actually cared about Link. And while Sleeping Princess Zelda did kiss Link behind the curtain, that doesn't necessarily mean that she actually love and/or cared about him. But BotW/TotK Zelda definitely had zero respect for Link. She may have had feelings for him. But at the end of the day, all Link was to her was her loyal white knight. Meanwhile, you have other women in Link's lives who actually showed Link more love, care, and respect for Link than Zelda ever has. Women like Nabooru, Saria, Ruto, Malon, Romani, Cremia, Ilia, Rutela, Mipha, Paya, Hilda even, Anju, Midna, I could go on, but you should get the point by now. There's so much girls in Zelda who way much more better women than Zelda herself. So I don't necessarily blame Link for even if he was trying to shoot at her. After all, SHE'S the reason why he is in that mess at all! He was there because of her! Because he believed it was his destiny to save her. While, with other women in the series, his love doesn't have to be so conditional. He's actually much happier with the other women because they actually care about him and respect him for who he is and not what he is. They care more about that he's this kind hearted boy who's willing to help anyone than the fact that he's this strong mighty knight. They like him for his kind hearted courageous personality, not for his skill. Where as Zelda, other rather, some Zeldas, not all, only like him whenever they need him. So with that said, by your logic, who's real villain here? Zelda or Link? Zelda is the princess who manipulates Link every now and then, and she's even admitted it out of guilt. Midna had done the same. But Midna, actually respected Link in the end. So, by your logic of one of those two having to be the villain, it'd have to be Zelda. Especially since it was her who left Link there to save herself. She could've went after Link to try and save him then and there, but she didn't. So either way, Zelda's the one in the wrong here, not Link. All she cared about was getting away safe and sound. Not even thinking or caring about the one who literally there to save her initially in the first place.
@@KrissyBlues Read the reply to me from @sboinkthelegday3892 please! They literally stated the following and I quote: "This Link tried to shoot her, and is the villain" Regardless of whether or not their real reason that statement is because Link is male, that still doesn't change that they think Link is the villain because he shot at Zelda. That just simply rubbed me the wrong is all. I apologize they didn't mean it that way. But making assumptions like that just because someone was shooting at another, who happens to be in a crystal or any other containment of sorts, pisses me off. Especially when it's clear that person shooting was trying to save the other person. I see a lot of Zelda simps who prefer Zelda as the hero over Link overall all over social media all the time and it's annoying. That's why I assumed that @sboinkthelegday3892 was one of those people. Their reply gave me that impression very easily by the way they dissed Link for his method of trying to save Zelda. Because how dare he do literally the only thing he can he do to save. Had he not shot the crystal at all, Zelda would still be trapped and then no one would be able to save Hyrule, except for maybe Link if he ever escaped. But he did still have to save Zelda. And he couldn't leave Zelda stuck in that crystal like that. He had to do something then and there, even if just to make sure she was safe. Do you understand why I was frustrated and ranted? I know Link tried to save Zelda. That's the point! It's other user you need to yell and scold at, not me! They're the one saying Link is bad just because of the way he tried to save Zelda. To me that felt more personal than "just theorizing". Again, I apologize if that's all that was. That's just how I felt reading that "theory"! That "theory" just rubbed me the wrong way is all.
@@KrissyBlues You know, if you really have nothing good to say to me, why not just keep your shitty opinions of me based on your own shitty assumptions to yourself? I literally just told everything of why assumed that the other user was a Zelda simp. How is all that I told of my witness of Zelda simps and experiences with them leading my assumption of that person of being a Zelda simp somehow less than said someone assuming Link was a villain solely for the fact that he shot an arrow at a crystal? That's like only ONE thing versus my MULTIPLE witnesses and experiences of Zelda simps for literally YEARS, to possibly even a DECADE at this point. Perhaps you just don't understand the FULL scope of where I'm coming from with this topic, mostly because either: 1) You haven't had to deal with Zelda Simps as long and/or as much as I have, let alone at all. or 2) You, yourself, are a Zelda Simp, simply only just talking all this crap, just to defend a fellow Zelda simp. Or you are that simp using another account, pretending to be someone else. Assuming 2 is right, then all you've done with those words was convince me that my initial assumption was right all along. You a Zelda simp, and there's nothing can say or do at that point to convince me other. However, I'm nice enough to give you ONE more chance to prove yourself. If you just say the same kind of shit again, that's it! You lose! In response to your second paragraph. That is literally why the conception of Linkle as female Link character who exists separate from Link and a reasonable for those who want to have a female as their link between them and the game. But instead people just only wanted Zelda, only because her name is in a title with context that a lot of fans (long time fans like myself especially) should've understood by now. And these people, especially those new to series won't ever understand that context properly because of a certain game from last year pulled. Aka TotK with Zelda's line in the past where she states that she's traveled back so far that it's The Legend of Zelda or something along those lines. It's been awhile since I've last watched that memory cutscene. Speaking that issue. Your next paragraph does make it very convincing for me that you're a Zelda simp. But I'm still giving this last chance to prove yourself. Anyways, onto issue hand. That's the problem. Y'all assumed that Zelda is supposed to be main character just because her name is in title that you didn't read the FULL title in it's entirety. It's literally called The LEGEND of Zelda, NOT just Zelda, or The Adventure(s) of Zelda, or The LegendS of Zelda. It's called The LEGEND of Zelda. No "s" at the of Legend, no plural. Implying that title stands for than just stories about a girl, but more rather that, a well known LEGENDary hero named Link. I mean, there's even games that don't even feature Zelda at all! That's because the series was NEVER actually only all about Zelda, but her hero. You know, the guy we've played as for 38 years, until now? This is HIS story! Or rather, now, WAS! That's the problem, these simps you're defending assumed it was always supposed to be about the girl solely on because of a title, which her name is only a part of. The games before BotW even made it clear every time they referred to Link as the LEGENDary hero or the Hero of LEGEND. Link being the legend in the title was established from the beginning. You just didn't realize it because your every experience is you just mashing the buttons through all the important dialogue that you missed it. Or you just don't want to accept a simple fact. Now, because of that stupidity, the series name now really doesn't make much sense anymore. It's no longer The Legend of Zelda by proper context standards, but just it's shortened name in Zelda now. Also how has the treatment of women overall in the series not even been stellar at all? I mean the whole world of Zelda was literally created by three goddesses. WOMEN! Also, Zelda was already more than just a damsel. She was a freaking goddess in mortal form! And she held Calamity Ganon off for 100 years! Just because we didn't play as her canonically until now, doesn't mean she didn't do anything badass at all! I mean, she even lead a pirate crew for goodness sake. And she survived for 7 years as a ninja. I think the series has treated women fairly....until now. Yeah, it could be better. But this direction ain't it! And finally, probably only thing I can kinda agree with but mixed about as there are still more things you stated that just rub me the wrong way. Yes, I agree and like that you admit the fact that Zelda not actually fighting directly in this game feels wrong. However, everything you stated after that, not only contradicts the earlier part of that last paragraph but also feels like a personal attack against me. Like how is expressing worries concern for a series considered unwelcome and not contribute anything helpful in discussion about how women are treated in the series historically? My worries and concerns especially? I've literally busted my butt ranting about Princess Zelda deserves better than this! It's okay for someone like you, who clearly doesn't even understand the series at all to express your concerns. But not me? Someone who literally grew up on the series and understands it a lot more than most people...apparently? What gives you more right express concerns over me? Nothing! We all have a right to express our own concerns for the franchises we love. Not just you! Remember, you have one last chance to prove me wrong me about you and the other user. Do NOT blow it!
I believe the floating islands are what was swallowed by the rifts. Hope that's the case, because if it turns out to be the Twilight Realm its going to be so disappointing...
I'm so hyped for this game! Playable Peach, Zelda, and Daisy within the span of a years length makes me so happy! Looks like Mario Party is going to be back to being good and I can't wait for Metroid Prime 4!
zelda meets tri in a prison cell prison cell companion. after the other ref. to twilight princess i wonder why you didn't mention link meeting midna in one too
It almost seems like this is going to be an alternate timeline of A Link To The Past where after Link defeats Ganon he instead gets captured in the dark realm and then Zelda has to save him. That’s why there’s so much similarities to A Link To The Past. That’s my take on some of this crap.
kind of funny how breath of the wild they went 'we want you to have freedom, why do you want to go back to linier?', then fans complaining, whined, some gave constructive critisim and some offer advice, and boom, we've got this game.
Judging by the two different Zora, Business Scrub, and Hyrule's geography, I think its safe to say this game takes place in the Downfall timeline. -River Zoras, or Zolas, only appear in the Downfall timeline and before it. Peaceful ocean Zoras still exist well into the future outside Hyrule in places like Labrynna. -Again, Business Scrubs only appear in games that take place before or during the Downfall. -Finally, the geography looks like Hyrule during LttP. Said Geography didn't change going into LBWs and the games into between, not including LBW, all use the same link. So, the I'm guessing the weird rifts are trying to pull Hyrule into the Dark Realm from the Oracle games. Because Veran/Onox were from the Dark Realm and got summoned by Twinrova to the respective kingdoms.
River Zoras are also in Four Swords Adventures. If you've played that game, even if just the beginning sections, you'd know that as they appear very early on. Also, the very type of Business Scrub shown in the footage we saw of this game so far only appear in Child Timeline. That particular version appeared in Majora's Mask, which is a Child Timeline game, NOT Downfall. Finally, just because Hyrule's geography is like ALttP/ALBW's, doesn't mean that it's set in the Downfall Timeline. Especially considering the fact that: 1) FSA literally has that same sort of geography too. 2) The Gerudo exist. Which, in that era of Hyrule, only appear in the Child Timeline post OoT. 3) Bombfish exist. Which also have been a Child Timeline exclusive so far. 4) The Rift realm features floating islands like the Twilight Realm, which only appears in the Child Timeline. 5) Back to the map, there are two mountains, just like FSA's Map. And they're about within the same locations too. Except Death Mountain and the Hylia Plateau Mountain are more symmetrically parallel to each other. Death Mountain more to the west and the other mountain to the east. Lake Hylia is no longer within that second mountain as it has become frozen and Lake Hylia is now moved to the same location as ALttP/ALBW. However, that still doesn't mean the game is in the same timeline as those games as I've just pointed out. 6) The game also features Hyrule Castle Town. Something only ever seen in the Adult Timeline and Child Timeline post OoT, in that era of Hyrule. 7) Speaking of Hyrule Castle Town, the Hyrulean Emblem Monument surrounded by a pond is EXACTLY identical to the one seen in Twilight Princess. Which, btw, is in the Child Timeline. 8) The Great Deku Tree exists. Great Deku Tree has never once appeared in the Downfall Timeline in that era of Hyrule. Only in the Adult Timeline post OoT, so far. But possible for the Child Timeline as proven in Hyrule Warriors, even though that game is non-canon. And since this Hyrule wasn't flooded. It's safe to say that this HAS to be the Child Timeline. Especially since it's very likely that the Deku Tree from OoT never actually really died in that timeline. Bottom Line is, this game has way too many more lore/history heavy references to the Child Timeline than the other two for them to just be ignored. This game is definitely in the CT and there's no valid doubt about that. There's just no way that this game is in the Downfall Timeline, unless the Child Timeline and Downfall Timeline somehow converged or something. Which is unlikely that's not logically possible. Or this could just be a brand new timeline based on all three timelines or something. Or this could just be another case like BotW and TotK where the game is just so far in any timeline and Nintendo is just leaving it up for debate as to which timeline. And knowing Nintendo, that last case scenario is the most likely sadly. This game likely just another "it can go anywhere after the end of any timeline or it's own pocket timeline" thing because Nintendo doesn't give a shit about the timeline anymore.
Business Scrubs appear in Majora's Mask, which is definitively Child Timeline. Geography similar to ALttP was used in Four Swords Adventures, also Child Timeline. The rifts and what's inside them look more similar to the Twilight Realm. The Dark Realm in the Oracle games was a mini-dungeon called the Room of Rites.
@@PJCVita92 So: 1. The geography of FSA looks like this: zeldawiki.wiki/wiki/File:FSA_Overworld.png 2. The Gerudo are not extinct in any timeline. The Zelda encyclopedia states they're weakened, due to you know who, in all timelines. We don't see them in most games because the've been ostracized by most races as evil. 3. Monsters in Zelda are shown to be constructs formed by Demons and powerful magic users using Demise lingering hatred for Hylia and her chosen hero. Save for a few creatures who are specially stated to have evolved into monsters, like Octorocks, we can literally say a wizard did this. 4. A rift in the world doesn't automatically make it the twililight realm which can no longer be accessed after the Twilight Mirror was broken. Moreover, the "Twilight" effect in TP is missing here, and the new game is clearly going for a softer tone. 5. I don't think I need to add anything here. 6. Castle Town existed in OOT before the split. It disappeared in the downfall because it was destroyed by Ganon. The games following actually take place in a much smaller time frame. So, it's not like castle town can't be rebuilt. 7. Okay, this one is just funny. They used the royal family crest to decorate a fountain in Castle Town. What else or they going to use? 8. Where is the Great Deku tree? I don't see it in the video but I was able to find info that it's making a comeback. But still, that doesn't prove this takes place in the Child timeline because again, he existed and died before the split. Futhermore, the deku sprout never even appeared in the child timeline unlike the Downfall and adult Timelines. Also, I'm going to stop and say that Downfall timeline has too many games compared to the other timelines. According to the encyclopedia, downfall has at least eight games in total which is twice as much as any other timeline.
A lot of Zelda fans, me included, don't really see all of these references to ALttP's map as a cool thing because it just means that we would be exploring the same Hyrule for a third time remixed, which is really disappointing.
Zelda games are supposed to be played after around after every 4 years. Players then grow up, cherishing their memories, then return to them in the next game. Which ups the nostalgia factor. The "design fatigue" is usually found in kids who werent even around when Link To The Past was released. Forcing "so called fans" to play the LOZ games in a matter of days and weeks. Then complaining on social media. "Ugh Nintendo's making another Zelda game based on Link to the Past, ugh, ugh, Im tired of this game."
I love that there seems to be influence from just about every era of Zelda in this game, it really enriches the sense of Hyrule as a place with history.

4:20 isnt incredible how much nature en the legend of zelda universe are bombs? Plants, fishes, reptiles, nothing is safe.
Mice too lol
Zelda needs a Sage of Bomb
Thank you for this analasys as is very interesting and comprehensive.
I love the detail of research on this video: it was fun to see the references to past games, especially the original 2D games.
(5:40) The lamp behind him looks very similar in design to the ones the Sheikah use, which is also seen at (5:48).
Nice video! I can’t wait for this to release. I’m going to be playing the crap out of it!
I think the large river Zora is a combination of King Zora and the Catfish from ALttP. Note the whiskers.
yes!!! your zelda content is back!!!
Death Mountain is more to the east if I recall, you can even see it beyond the first palace. IDK what's the northwestern mountain.
What we thought was Death Mountain in Link to the Past was called Mount Hebra in Japan. Seems like the real Death Mountain was to the west of it.
@@RyanBlazeheart ooooooh...
My guess is that the river Zoras and the sea Zoras are at war.
You mean to tell me that the king Zora of OOT is a 'hostile' zora while his subjects are the 'friendly' zora? that would explain a lot of things.
Robbie confirmed for Echoes of Wisdom?
The zora kings seems to love waterfalls.
They seem to be taking a lot of random elements from throughout the franchise.
i feel like th alttp area of the map will just be the starting zone while this hyrule game would be vastly bigger we'll be able to see much more of it. I'm thinking the whole alttp map will be like the great plateau of this game.
Someone told me that apparently some ppl have been saying the dark blue hood looks Zonai? Didnt think the Zonai were rlly gods tho tbh
It looks more Twili to me. But I can see where they get that from.
@@OtakuUnitedStudio and even Looygi Bros thought all the symbols n everything was Twili and not Zonai before TotK
Alas it won't be neither Zonai nor Twili. lol
@@wearywanderer1912 no comment has said to me that the Zonai *are* gods. I thought saying that was controversial tho lol
Also apparently Links sword (not the master sword i think) looks Zonai, and some ppl have been discussing that? Idk, i dont interact much w the Zelda fandom and dont like how it has become
I do hope the sword and bow are a reference to Zonai. But I somewhat doubt it because Nintendo lately seems to not be caring much about lore consistency. For example, prior to TotK release Looygi made two trailer analysis pointing several Twili similarities to what was shown. But at the end of the day Nintendo just created the Zonai species out of nowhere with nothing to do with the Twilis. Supposed nods to previous games leads to nothing in the story, which is a shame. So what looks Zonai in EoW trailer might be something else (again). xD
The "River Zoras" are called Zola
The females are zola, but male is unknown.
hmm... the right-hand zora seem more like BotW ones, at least design wise... not sure if it's just because of N64 graphics limitations, but they just look too different
they are cuter than old ones
Great video Looygi Bros. ❤️🔥
OH MY GOD! How could I have missed what was ON SCREEN?
The ocean zora designs look like their based on Botw/Totk.
And women can do no wrong!🙄
Don't get me wrong!
They literally stated the following and I quote:
"This Link tried to shoot her, and is the villain"
Regardless of whether or not their real reason that statement is because Link is male, that still doesn't change that they think Link is the villain because he shot at Zelda.
Perhaps you just don't understand the FULL scope of where I'm coming from with this topic, mostly because either:
1) You haven't had to deal with Zelda Simps as long and/or as much as I have, let alone at all.
or
2) You, yourself, are a Zelda Simp, simply only just talking all this crap, just to defend a fellow Zelda simp.
Do NOT blow it!
have you notice that every echoe use a Tri's triangle ?
I believe the floating islands are what was swallowed by the rifts. Hope that's the case, because if it turns out to be the Twilight Realm its going to be so disappointing...

after the other ref. to twilight princess i wonder why you didn't mention link meeting midna in one too
So in the timeline this will be after Four Swords Adventures, I guess.
It almost seems like this is going to be an alternate timeline of A Link To The Past where after Link defeats Ganon he instead gets captured in the dark realm and then Zelda has to save him. That’s why there’s so much similarities to A Link To The Past. That’s my take on some of this crap.
Will you do a breakdown of the upcoming Mario & Luigi?
its a collab with ALttP and TP!
Huh... Could this game be a post-TOTK>ALTTP and pre-Twilight Princess event?
what about everything we missed in mario and luigi brothership
kind of funny how breath of the wild they went 'we want you to have freedom, why do you want to go back to linier?', then fans complaining, whined, some gave constructive critisim and some offer advice, and boom, we've got this game.
There's one thing I don't understand. Why was Zelda imprisoned in a prison cell in the first place?
We'll have to find out when the game is released.
There's probably a plot reason
she was bad :(
Maybe the guards that intercept her will be corrupted in the way to the castle (or already are).

Especially considering the fact that:
1) FSA literally has that same sort of geography too.
Forgot to mention, Bomb Fish have only appeared in Twilight Princess so far, making me think this really is supposed to be a follow up to that.
@@PJCVita92 So:
1. The geography of FSA looks like this: zeldawiki.wiki/wiki/File:FSA_Overworld.png
Not to mention the art style / world objects were all over Four Swords Adventures too.
A lot of fans ≠ You
The general layout might be similar but I doubt the actual map is going to be too similar.
Especially with Death Mountain being moved.
nah I think it's cool
Zelda games are supposed to be played after around after every 4 years. Players then grow up, cherishing their memories, then return to them in the next game. Which ups the nostalgia factor.
The "design fatigue" is usually found in kids who werent even around when Link To The Past was released. Forcing "so called fans" to play the LOZ games in a matter of days and weeks. Then complaining on social media.
"Ugh Nintendo's making another Zelda game based on Link to the Past, ugh, ugh, Im tired of this game."
I think you might be stretching a bit too far in a few of these. And overdoing it with the zooms in others.
