    Very happy with the insight and details Regi gave in this interview. I hate to see some of my favorite players no longer be a part of TSM, but videos like this remind me why its OK to still be a TSM fan.

      Let's be real Bjerg and Haunzter were the 2 most consistent and hype players anyway. I'm excited to see what TSM can do moving forward.

    • @jacobhendrickson8371
      @jacobhendrickson8371 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea that's basically it.. As a jungle main it was always fun watching Svenskeren but like.. He's not even a team player. Like every TSM match he's goin solo q style and either does well or shits the bed. Doublelift just thinks hes better than he is and Bio was pretty new so whatever. So yea it comes down to Hauntzer and Bjerg.. both solid players.

    • @bangislove5772
      @bangislove5772 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeh, i don't wanna try to prove anything, i'll just write my opinion. Hauntzer is THE WORST top laner Na ever had. Mechanicaly, he's not even in top 5 for me, he can play semi-tanks and snowball with them if Sven gank 47 times for him( cuz Na as a region is poor, and TSM somehow always ends snowballing even thou they should Deff lose that game). I can't forget that 1v1 vs C9 Ray( kennen vs Camila) where after bilion ganks and redemptio from Bio helped him to kill Alrdy behind kennen, and even casters were proud about that... Such a useless shit

    • @jacobhendrickson8371
      @jacobhendrickson8371 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Literally the most pointless comment ever. "I dont wanna try and prove anything".. If you're gonna drop some heated opinion as you did you 100% need to have facts to prove.. Funny though

    Have to give it to Regi. Every player he released he cared to get a competitive team, and he actually looks forward to see how this improves them. He doesn't care about stomping NA, he wants the league to be as competitive as possible. That's an approach that should really be appreciated.

      You never know, Doublelift is the best ADC in the west and a big star (tons of fans = merch and stream numbers) so he will definitely get a team. Bio is a NA talent which is super valuable now. Maybe he just helped Sven but other than that he may not have done much.

      I can't see how you'd think that way. Regi clearly said that RO had an off period compared to what the level he used to play at and if he manages perform as he did in his early days again, he can elevate the entire team's level.
      Both that he was incredibly good and that he later fell off performance wise are undisputable, also Regi didn't say RO can't play that well again. So, what's your problem?

  • @jujurawks
    @jujurawks 6 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    Svenskeran and Biofrost were replaced because they aren't communicating and having mechanic skill isn't enough on the world's level.
    Andy confirmed that they just needed a shot caller, they wanted just mithy but had concerns of having a repeat with yellowstar and doublelift not being compatible. Zven was just as good as doublelift and already has success with mithy, so andy decided to take g2's bot lane as a package.
    It's unfortunate for doublelift. Andy always puts the team first. I can respect that.
    Looks like I'm rooting for TL.

    • @chawmila
      @chawmila 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      jujurawks actually Sven had to leave bc they needed 2 import slots for the botlaners. Double got offered more at TL and so they wanted zven but then bio had to go for mithu

    Honestly, you might like the players they had previously, or dislike Regi, but the way he has gone about it, and spoke in this interview is actually really respectful and smart. he went more for long run, what would fix the team, how to improve and stay number 1 in NA, granted i thought sven was the main issue on TSM but seeing that there was more core issues that Regi was aware of and worked to try impact that in a positive manner is amazing from a tactical viewpoint. i actually give him props for how he manages everything.

    they will prolly just semi stomp NA again in normal season bcos all the teams are just mixed up so hard now and then next year at worlds, MY will be just as passive as all the other carry junglers TSM picked up and crippled or "fixed" it, like its a bad thing to be able to play carry junglers competitively and then at worlds they wont get out of groups again and this interview will come again in approx. a year, talking about that person xyz on the team didnt communicate or shotcall again and then 2-3 people will be replaced again, we've seen it already like 3 years now, dont see a reason why the next year would be any different

    • @amnieto88
      @amnieto88 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      How many years/seasons has Regi said communication is the problem... changing players hasn't fixed the problem maybe cuz it isn't? I really feels like developing strategy and adaptation have been TSM's actual issues.

    • @animewarrior3
      @animewarrior3 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      amnieto88 adaptation isn't to bad for them, or at least, it wasn't. (They were at their best in best of 3/5 games as they adaptated to Opponent play). Strategy building is definitely an issue. But they does have a basis in shot calling.

    • @tricyclebicycle
      @tricyclebicycle 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not even just a TSM jungler problem. It's a lot of teams picking up carry players and forcing them into supportive styles to help out their star child (in TSM's case, support the bjerg to god tier). In some cases it works, but in most cases the person that has to adapt to a totally new style of playing gets screwed over.

    • @moschoi
      @moschoi 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just this past season was bit different with jungle. It isn't really TSM's fault for having passive jungle. Riot kind of made it to where junglers can just rotate and stay in jungle while keeping up with cs and exp with lanes. So the game was so heavily focused on laning as late into the game as possible.. But if the jungler gank, and happen to fail, then they ended up being behind. So it actually was a safe way of playing, having a passive jungler.

    TSM gets so much pressure to succeed globally... underdogs don't get ANY pressure from people. I reckon TSM players get this pressure into their heads. They dress nicely, they have big salaries, but THEY'RE turning into the underdogs. just a thought

    • @moschoi
      @moschoi 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They need a new coach. Regi was good, but only good enough to worlds group stage. There HAS to be a reason why Korean teams are so dominant. We can't simply say "Korean's are just better." NA has bigger population with much more diverse group of people. We can find better talent here. But we don't have the culture and the discipline of Korean teams. That's what we need. We don't need "better synergized" players. We need a better coach who can train the players like how they do in Korea.

    • @mcrettable
      @mcrettable 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      moschoi well let’s be real they are better mechanically

    • @moschoi
      @moschoi 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    The more I think of this, supp-jungle synergy this year will be huge. We got Mike and Mithy, Sven and Smoothie, Reignover and Bio, and of course last split's mvp couple Xmithie and Olleh. These are all very interesting pairings, with a good mix of shotcalling and playmaking that will make NA very competitive this split.

      @TheSpencer1000 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      rekkles was performing slightly better then zven imo, but zven was also really good. They were both way better then the next tier of ADCs in EU at least. Mithy though was the best support in EU last split imo. So to get the best support in a position your looking to strengthen and the second best ADC (in EU) for bot lane is a pretty good deal. I personally think that the ADC position in NA will be a lot harder to compete in then the EU ADC role this year now, with NA taking zven from them. The ADC talent pool in NA is really strong right now and even if you have a top tier ADC, you dont really guarantee your bot lane winning all the time. It will come down to team communication, patches a lot more next split to make these ADCs look good.

    Given the lack of support that the lanes received from jungle in worlds, they should have replaced Svenskeren and Biofrost for Mike Yeung and Aphromoo. That would fix the shot calling issues and synergy in bot lane.
    I think they are seriously underestimating how much pressure they lost in bot lane that will ultimately affect the other lanes. Watching worlds was a nightmare because they literally left bot lane to fend for themselves and BioLift still managed to be relevant. All they needed was a little jungle support to get that lane snowballing. TSM will be 4th place next year.

    • @caoz9375
      @caoz9375 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem is getting Aphromoo, the reason he is not in CLG anymore is because, according to rumours, he was asking too much money. Also you can't say Zven/Mithy is a downgrade from Biolift if anything is an even trade except Mithy brings what TSM needs.

    I am glad he brought up the comment about NA's player base being 1/3 the size of korea and EU. This is a fact that is heavily overlooked when people want to trash talk NA talent, like we got a huge pool of players to pick from.

  • @dpb22
    @dpb22 6 ปีที่แล้ว +42

    I think Regi's statement about the new team's rosters was a bit naïve. There wasn't even close to a fair playing field. Several players have stated point blank they didn't want to join first year teams because they didn't want to go through the growing pains of a new org. Doublelift, for example.

    • @TheSpencer1000
      @TheSpencer1000 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      he never said that the players wanted to leave, he is an owner and if he wants to improve his team by changing players thats within his right. He simply stated that he thinks he got them good teams that fit them better then TSM and mostly that if TSM wanted to improve that they needed to make some changes so withen that context it was the best that he could do for the players without hurting his own team.

    • @GEM4sta
      @GEM4sta 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Idk, their rosters are pretty shit. The bigger thing to me, though, is how in the world Flyquest is still in the LCS. They abandoned all their note-able players, and they made a team that looks worse than many of the new incoming teams. Like, wtf.

    • @Crocoroar
      @Crocoroar 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I actually think FlyQuest looks fairly strong. Golden Guardians is the team that I'm expecting to take last. Lourlo, Contractz, Hai, Deftly and Matt. As much as I like Contractz and Hai and the top and support are probably sidegrades from FlyQuest roster, Deftly is a massive downgrade in the position that was one of FlyQuest's strongest.

    • @madshader
      @madshader 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, Dlift is a top tier player but his communication style was too risky to keep with Mithy's shot-calling style. The synergy would have been a huge gamble as was the case with Yellowstar. Dlift prefers to play with passive supports like Biofrost becuase Dlift is an assertive leader and shot-caller. Aphromoo grew to became a more assertive shotcaller at some point which is why Dlift was given the boot from CLG cause he wasn't compatible with the "new" Aphromoo anymore in terms of communication style.

    • @vincentnovotny5619
      @vincentnovotny5619 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maybe it would actually be better for them to have a mediocre season and then win in gauntlet plus go to worlds. So the expectations wouldnt be as huge as the years before. I feel like the pressure it applied to them is part of what made them fail.

    • @midastheunwise2423
      @midastheunwise2423 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trust me, Zven and Mithy will be the top botlane in NA. They've been a duo for 3 years now, so they have insane synergy while also being individually high-mechanics players. Mithy might not be the most mechanically skilled support in EU (that honour goes to Hylissang), but he shot calls incredibly well and never really gets caught out.

    Idk why people brag about imports coming to other regions. It’s like Regi said organization are going for the team which will hopefully give them the most success. And if that means getting 2 or 3 players from another region I don’t see any problem with that. I mean look at European football clubs , they have a lot of people from another country as well, doesn’t matter where If it’s Barcelona or Bayern or Real Madrid. And no one cry’s there about players not coming from the country the league is playing in. People really got to stop seeing the player as an individual and more as the organization as itself and what they stand for. I’m always gonna be an TSM fan because I love what the organization stands for and not only the players which are playing for them.

    • @marioparnass6152

      Wasn't updated on that one, still thinking it was the 2 years playing wich made more sense since they have short careers and it shouldn't affect their personal life. On the other side i would rather kick Bio and work around it, other teams won so much with those 3 leaving. We will have a even better season this year looking at rosters

    • @caoz9375
      @caoz9375 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alexandre Martins Regi said that initially he wanted just Mithy, but he wasn't going to leave w/o Zven and on the other hand Zven/Mithy already have 3 years playing together so the synergy is already there. Bringing in just Mithy and having him adapt to DL's playstyle could potentially end up being a Yellowstar 2.0

    TSM does this with every jungler they’ve had since TheOddOne. Can’t wait to see Mike get fucked over and become Sven part 2. :/
    Also "since the beginning we were never really an NA team" is bullshit. Your starting lineup was only NA players. Chaox was born in China but grew up in Canada and later the US. You were very obviously representing NA.

    • @fallendeus
      @fallendeus 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Uhh... at what age do you cut off "growing up" in a place. Because Chaox didnt move to the US until he was like 14.... I don't call that "growing up" in the US, hell 4 years after he moved here he was an adult.

That's why peanut never became real part of SKT. I also dont like this style but it has been working so unless peanut (LZ), maxlore(MSF) or mike(TSM) show the weakness in it it will still be the way to play in the jungle.
