In my humble opinion, you did quit. You made a decision to discontinue combat. You had a bad break, ive had the exact same injury on my right hand and i know it does hurt, but you still made that decision.
Btw, im not saying I wouldn't have made the same decision too. It's excruciating, but there are levels to how far someone is willing to go to win. Some would have continued.
I think a fit Jack Draper is a very uncomfortable nights work for anyone, would just like to see you stay fit outside of camps and you reach your potential, I'm not sure we will ever see it unforunately, but I do think you have the talent and skill set to go all the way.

Jack with the greatest of respect mate and as someone who has always watched your videos and thought of you as an honest guy and a good bkb man I'll say this. You definitely made the right decision to end the fight however if your going to continue in the bkb you seriously need to lose some weight and in my humble opinion at least three stones. I'm a 62 year old ex serviceman and navy boxer who's also had lots of hand breaks, pins and a compound fracture of the scapula. Remember once you've had a break there's always a weakness there as well as a mental knowing. After leaving the service I had several offers of going pro however I knew it was over for me as my hand was severely weakened. Give your hands st least a three month break after the plaster comes off and DON'T.!!! rush back into the fight game until your sure it's 💯. If it goes again mate take it from me it's over. Good luck with your healing. 👍🏻

You did quit. Yes your hand was broken. You could of fought on with one hand. Boxers have carried on with one hand and won in the past. Danny Williams for example. It depends on your mentality and how far you are willing to go to win. You are happy with your decision. Thats it really.

I think both situations are abit dif Williams had a dislocated shoulder which is very sore but not irreversible the same as breaking Ur hand wrapped and in gloves cos it's tight pressed together Ur hands are somewhat protected, bare knuckles, no wraps broken hand could be the end of using that hand. U could carry on and fight one handed but both big lads a week notice on a nothing fight what's the point in risking it?

Quitting is there for everyone to see BUT (and it is a big but) I think the questions that you need to ask about this situation are 1) would continuing have negatively impacted your chances of winning the fight? And 2) would continuing have negatively have impacted your career? And the answer to both the questions is most certainly YES, so did you do the right thing by stopping when you did, most certainly IMO yes! No one can say anything unless they’ve been there and done differently and 99% of people have never been there in the first place let alone with a broken hand!

"Quit" has negative meanings to it... & an easy word to throw about. But you did stop by choice.
Watched the fight... the opponent was decent too, but i was surprised at the time to see it waived off, as it was a well contested first round... Didnt know what was up.
For me, thats when you know a freak injury has occurred.
Knowing the facts... Right decision to call it a day there Jack, thats just my opinion though. Fair play to the other lad too, he got his hand raised.

People need to put respect on Rowans name. He won fair and square. Jack gave his best and came up short. We win or we learn. Takes balls to step in the ring. Jack had a choice, keep quiet about his hand and fight on or bring it to the ref and corners attention which he did. Dubois chose not to continue against joyce and look at him now. Jack lives to fight another day

Did Brett may quit when he went back to he corner and said he couldn't see properly?

    • @Richard-ws1hm
      @Richard-ws1hm 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Yes, Brett May quit cos he lied about not being able to see. There was nothing wrong with him other than he realised fighting a man in the ring wasnt the same as sparking out kids in a local pub. When he realised a few windmills werent going to do the job at BKFC he gassed out, didnt want to take a beating, so pretended he couldnt see to get the fight stopped. That is the definition of quitting.
A broken hand is rather different. Fists are rather important in boxing especially in bare knuckle! The only way a fighter could beat another fighter one handed is if they are massively mismatched. BKFC is the most professional bare knuckle organisation in the world, I cant see them matching anyone that could beat an opponent with one hand. At most cling on for half a round, not when its done at the very beginning.

Anybody with half a brain could see you won that first round Jack I though you caught him with a couple of beautiful shots and your speed and timing looked bang on the money so there was certainly no reason for you to be ‘looking for a way out’. I think injury free you would have been itching to get back out there for the 2nd round and 100% you could of carried on but for your own reasons you chose not to. Like you said it would have hampered your defence and you may have got put to sleep and you wasn’t prepared to do that, many fighters say they wanna go out on there shield or are prepared to die in the ring but them fighters when it comes down to it are literally one in a million. Lions don’t lost sleep over the opinions of sheep..god bless👊

There's no shame in "quitting". That's what sets the warriors apart. You could've carried on but as you say it could've made things worse. In Dubois case it proved to be an incredibly wise decision.
In terms of deleting comments there's going to be haters and lovers. Having an echo chamber back patters I think benefits you less. Let haters fuel you and there engagement boost your channel.

In M.M.A they say you should let them choke you till your out. Don't tap. You can poo yourself when choked out. Seen it happen to Paul Jenkins twice :) You tap to a heel hook because it can end your career but not to an Achilles because its only a pain hold and a heel hook will rip your ligaments. If you know you have a injury to your hand there's no point making it worse. No good being a brave fighter who can't fight.
