This is one of the few videos I've watched where the leads were talented, the person playing Ursula should keep doing musicals✨

I respect your opinion, but how is this song better than “I Want the Good Times Back”? I just feel like “Daddy’s Little Angel” was rushed in its song writing.

      It's horrifying.
*It strips Ursula of her agency, insinuating that the black magic from the shell drove her nuts.
*It turns her into a serial killer who KILLED HER FATHER AND ALL HER SISTERS.
*It's a good thing that it goes by fast. If kiddies could parse out what she's saying, they'd be terrified. How is this Disney?
*And the writing. Yikes. Let me point out the lyric "to a T." Fun game: count how many times that's used in the show. It's not connected musically, or dramatically. It's just an EXTREMELY lazy rhyme, but hey, it's SO HARD to rhyme the "ee" sound, isn't it?🙄

@@amyheiderbrown4071 The lyric could have been:
      Seven little pearls,
      Pretty as could be,
      That, we can agree.
      And then there was me.
I don’t know, I feel like it’s more humorous but still jealous at the same time. There’s also “bougie” and “sea” that is right up Ursula’s vocabulary as well.

@heterogina3437 I know I'm biased here, but I was in my school's production of The Little Mermaid as Flotsam and I absolutely LOVED Daddy's Little Angel. I've listened to I Want The Good Times Back, but I just couldn't get into it. Daddy's Little Angel to me is by far the better song, and I wish there was a studio recording of it

@@FennekinLover-ko6nd That’s completely fair! I’m not upset with the music, just more with the lyrics, if that makes sense. “Daddy’s Little Angel” is a really fun and quirky tune, but the lyrics are just subpar compared to “I Want the Good Times Back,” which, in my opinion, has great music and lyrics. Then again, I’ve never been in the production, but I do write music!

Ironically, this song reminds me more of Morgana than Ursula.

Correct~ According to the Disney lore that's precisely the case. Poseidon was Triton's father, and Ursula (and the forgotten Morgana from the sequel movie) was Triton's sister. That's why it was so easy to ensure she'd be able to take his crown as long as he signed it over to her. Otherwise no one in the ocean would necessarily have to accept her rule. But she was in the line of succession and if none of his daughters were free to take the throne it would revert back to her. But I guess she couldn't count on taking out all of his children first. It probably would be a bit too obvious if she killed literally 7 _more_ merfolk to take the crown. Instead the magic of a contract made it much easier to ensure everything went her way while making the signees believe they had a choice and a chance.
