  • I am back playing City of Heroes again, to celebrate the official licensing of COH to the Homecoming group. This time, I will be playing Liberty Lass as an Energy Melee Brute. Come join the party - watch along with me, or play it yourself, now that COH is legally available again.

In the original COH, I was a level 7 scrapper doing a radio mission. When I entered, I found Level 41 villans. They were also a faction only found on City of Villans.

Wow that is a major bug. And we can't even attribute it to launch day because COV and Radio Missions were like year 2.

Timed missions were definitely a bane, I can't remember if I have run into any on Homecoming, I don't think so.
I never played beta, but I did play at launch and I definitely remember I used to never do missions around that time. It was just street sweeping teams in Perez Park, and I remember multiple characters getting stuck around level 10-12 because I died so much to CoT that I would choose to roll a new character instead of work off the debt, lol.

Oh that's right, the debt. I remember many of my guild-mates, the blasters in particular, but also controllers and defenders, talking about being in "perma-debt" -- they were basically always in debt. As a scrapper, once I got my SOs in, I almost never died, and certainly not enough to be in perma-debt. At one point as a group we got wiped a couple of times in a row being stupid, and I started grumbling about having a couple of beads of debt, and they were like, 'what about the debt you had before?' I said, 'I had no debt before.' They were shocked. One of them had been consistently in debt for like 10 levels at that point.

I am a gamer and have never played City of Heroes. I didn't like that you couldn't get gear in it. Didn't know about the things you find and upgrade to customize your powers a bit more. When I finally wanted to try it it went under. Was on TH-cam the other day and I saw it was officially back and free. I have been watching tons of TH-cam vids on it and can't wait to get back and install. I hope someone figures out how to install on Steam Deck and compatible with a controller but no big deal. I have a pc that will smoke it. I have had it with WoW and I am a big D.C. fan so I think I will love it. I will keep an eye out for Liberty Lass. I was thinking of making a Supergirl clone but I guess I will think some more. 😢

Careful with the clones. The Homecoming TOS clearly states that you are not allowed to make a COH version of an existing-IP character. Aside from that, if you have any questions, feel free to post them and I will do my best to answer them. I've played COH for years and I was there when it launched.

Which server in Homecoming are you using? This question also goes to those in the comments. Im trying to determine which server in Homecoming is the most populated. I have charcters in each one but the more people the more runs you can do with tempary groups. Thats the best/fastest way to level up.

I am using Everlasting because that was where my first and second Supergroups were located. At one point it was the "unofficial RP server," back in 2019. I have no idea what the status is now. I do not do pickup groups, so I can't speak to what the PUG culture is like on Everlasting, and I have not been on any of the other servers at all.
