They very much were trying to mimic OEM GameCube controllers in multiple regards. From their website: "Features analog triggers with GC style digital button". They are delusional if they think this is accurate.
@@CarrotsNotCake Dude it's fine. It's different, sure. But it's fine. It's a modernization, like the d-pad. It is a matter of opinion of course. It does indeed have analog with digital click. I personally prefer the BGC Pro over the tiresome creakiness of the originals 23 years later. What do you expect with a totally different controller shape, expanded D-Pad, and functionality to work with more than just GameCube?
@@CarrotsNotCake On the FEATURES section, it also says: "Full analog triggers with “click” featuring Kailh® switches". Maybe what they meant was that there were analog triggers like on the Gamecube, thats the only thing i can think about.
I watched the video and from 2:07 to 3:37 are mostly grunts without ever mentioning why they don't like or how is it bad, so it's really hard to know what their expectations were when most of the video is like that.
@@CarrotsNotCake They weren't trying to clone the GameCube controller or wavebird, it's a modern take or inspired by the GameCube controller. I think what they meant is that it has the digital button feature, as their original Battler does not have this and other brand like the Nyxi Wizard also do not have a digital button feature, their Pro does.
These are too. But yeah, the high-pitch click instead of the thonk from the original. It's not a big deal at all, and easier on the hands for long play sessions. CNC is overplaying it IMO.
But do you wanna know something that mouse switch might be a good thing because if it ever warns out, you can simply replace it by finding these kind of mouse switches online. And do you wanna know another thing about mouse switches?, They’re actually better than the membranes. I learned that from a TH-camr called VK.
Thank you for another review.
They didn’t try and clone the Wavebird. They built their own ‘vision’ of a GameCube controller.

They are replaceable, but not as easily replaced as membrane.
But hey, at least I think the controller is not disappointing at all
