I was skint and bought this watch because it was all I could afford at the time. Now I wear it to work and while I'm casual or playing sport. It never looks out of place. Its light and the strap feels and looks good.
One of the best looking digital watch, or even one of the best watch on the planet, Period. I Love it more than my F91W and Casioak. It's amazing. To others like me who are doubtful that if it's too big before buying, coz the images make it look like it's big, it's actually not. It's not tiny as F91W, but it fits smaller than Casioak. I have 6.5 cm wrist and it looks very good on mine as it is on 8 cm wrist in the video. Just ordered SKXMod metal case, can't wait to have metal world timer on my wrist
First Casio is my dw5600 with led, f105w, and the royale. The royal is an incredible deal for the watch you get. I got the all black one. I don’t travel much, I just enjoy the looks of it. Very versatile watch
Damn bro I think you hit out on the head with that one! These def give you walking thru the mall or Sears with family back in the day! Lol great video 🍻
Yeah! The Casio Royale is a smart piece of time keeping. In all its standard Casio variants its great. But when its modded it becomes a next level watch. Watch snobs probably don't like it simply because it ain't valued at thousands of $/£/€ etc. I personally perfer the AE1300 which is virtually identical. My only criticism is that the lung width is 18mm. 20 mm would be better & I'm surprised SKX mods hasn't addressed that with Their metal cases , meaning an adapter is still required for a wider strap. 🍸 Cheers
The Casio AE1200WH, also widely known as the Casio Royale, has a modding community that has embraced this inexpensive copy of a Seiko G757, which was worn by Roger Moore in the 1983 James Bond movie Octopussy and turned it into a bit of a subculture of it's own. I have a AE1200WH-1A that I've easily taken apart, scrubbed almost ALL that janky-looking lettering off except for the Casio name with 91% Isopropyl alcohol and a Q-Tip, then filled the case with silicone oil before reassembly and I replaced the band with a really nice blue leather with tan twine stitching, Ritche watchband I paid $20 for on Amazon. It's so cool! I get a LOT of compliments on it and it's actually a much more interesting conversation piece because of what it is, than the same common Rolex you see all the time that needs no introduction.
I just recently started actually collecting watches. I had a few before started: My wife gifted me an engraved Fossil Minimalist with a quartz movement, my Garmin Instinct that I wore daily for about 3 years and an Apple Watch lol. Since collecting I bought my Hamilton Khaki King, the JDM Green Orient Bambino Ver. 8 then bought one of these. My Seiko Turtle is on the way as well. But the first week I owned this I took over tons of wrist time from my Hamilton. Just buy one of these. Don’t even think about it. It’s so cheap that even if you end up hating it (which I don’t see why you would) you could just give it to someone or throw it away. Edit: subbed to watch you mod this!
You have some fun pieces in the collection! And you’re right, it can be a slippery slope. I like the idea of starting with this, then expanding from there if you want to. It’s so easy to find yourself satisfied with the right Casio. Thanks for the sub. 😊
I have the W800 model, these two similar Casios maybe the best dirt cheap world travellers of all time. Not much difference between the two, buy what you like more, or buy both of them. Almost 13 years on the same battery and still running fine (+12-16 sec/month with a very used battery).
I’ve had the black version for more than 8 years. I love the World Time feature, but the day/date is hard to read. I wish you could set the alarms for a date/day of a month. Also a snooze alarm would be nice. I would also not wear it if I wanted to make a good impression.
“Better” is subjective. It’s all personal preference. Best bet is to order from somewhere with a return policy. If you hate the bracelet, return it and order the black one.
The AE-1200 ist a great watch, maybe the coolest Casio ever made. But when you mod it with the stainless steel and sapphire kits of SKXMOD, it's absolutey stunning. Okay, it is not a cheap watch anymore after the mod 🙂
Agreed! I have a mod video coming Friday. Didn’t go the SKXMOD route, but I did with my CasiOak and it turned out great. Maybe I’ll do another one of these like that in the future.
I have one of these, and it's great, except for one little annoyance. Those bars between the main area of the screen and world map, have a gap between them and the screen, which tend to cast shadows, obscuring a portion of the day / date.
It’s definitely not scratch resistant, but it doesn’t seem to be a scratch magnet either. If that’s a big concern, though, get the black resin/plastic version instead. I didn’t really consider scratch resistance since the watch cost less than dinner last night. 🤷♂️
Just buy one and don’t think about it. You definitely want to look up how to set the time and adjust the bracelet if you get the metal bracelet as the bracelet is quite large. I just didn’t bother with the user manual.
@@jacksonkillileahey don't shame Casio user manuals like that 😅. They're actually great, no joke. Also casios have some trick combinations to do stuff, not AE1200 in particular but other Bluetooth ones have some tricky stuff and it's always great to have reference material handy without all the TH-cam tutorial shenanigans with long intros and outros along with 20 sec ad for a 10 sec video 😂
I do have this watch purchased last month. But, the problem with that is the time accuracy/ precision rate is bit bad as if the watch losses 1 sec every 2 days (approx 15-20 sec/month) Will it be fixed under the warranty.?..🤔
I doubt it. A watch that’s accurate to 1-2 seconds/day is actually extremely accurate… especially when you start looking into mechanical watches. For this price point, that type of accuracy is a selling point, not a warranty claim. If you want something more accurate than that, you’d want to look into something that calibrates itself automatically based on GPS or atomic clock radio signal… or a smart watch that connects to your phone.
@@MikeyTown13 Oh!! Thank you for your advice & sharing your view on this! But, I do have a strap version of this model (D097), using since a couple of months. That is very accurate roughly gains 5 sec in one whole month. This one, loses 20 sec/ month!! So, how could be that way distinct for different pieces of the same model..🧐🤔
Quite simply: Manufacturing tolerances. The Casio website specifies that this watch is accurate to plus or minus 30 seconds per month. Yours are well within that. If you want a watch that keeps better time than that (without connecting to GPS, atomic clock, or a phone), you’re typically looking at high accuracy quartz movements, which will run hundreds to thousands of dollars. Honestly… $20-$30 for a watch that’s accurate to less than a second per day is an absolute bargain that can’t be beat.
@@MikeyTown13 Oh!! I too went through the manual and in specification, it says so!! So, it's within the tolerance limit and i believe that might be common and varies in different pieces! And, thank you for your valuable advice and research! 😇

I think “never looks out of place” is a perfect description of this watch.

That SKXMods case is great! Sapphire crystal, too, I believe. Gonna be a looker!

Sears was the best!
One store to buy a shirt, watch, tool box, mattress, oven, pool table, and new tires… can’t go wrong.

Incredible! I guess 10 years on the battery is conservative!

Which is better, the all black on resin or the silver on bracelet?
I like the look of the silver, I’m just worried I will hate the cheap bracelet.

Best in the game
No doubt!
Bought mine in November for a retail price at £21.99 sterling.
This is by far the cheapest and economical watch EVER “

The price of skxmod is 3-4 times the price of the watch itself if I send it to Indonesia 😅. Not mentioning tax etc.
@@tjhinallfreed, yes, that's why i wrote »it's not a cheap watch anymore«. But it's a much better watch than before. :-)
Two beers at the airport.
