How many skyscrapers does NY need? I mean most of them are half empty, nobody can even live in NY coz of the insane property prices that are kept artificially high for both residents as well as businesses, the city is a cesspool of crime, murder and woke mentally insane people and politics, most of the working class and rich are moving out as a result of it and the city is basically an empty shell of it's former self. It's not anymore the place like Home Alone 2 where you want to spend your vacation as Kevin McCallister.

That even though we have fallen we came back up the same but stronger. But then we also feel we need to leave well enough alone. So many souls are there that must be left alone to rest and realize that it’s where we go to remember all whom perished there.

Exactly, it’s a no brainier, 20 years of 3 separate redesigns, and still no anchor tennant. People want a replica of wtc1. The answer is staring them in the face and would be more attractive to tenants.

I don't think they want the appearance of twin towers on the site anymore for obvious reasons. Also, WTC1 has already been designed to symbolically represent the original two buildings, it's supposed to look like the twin towers merged together.
Following that design philosophy have a second identical tower makes no sense. It would be like saying "here is where the quad towers used to stand, all 4 of them identical"

Building another set of twin towers would honestly in my opinion show the world that we have not moved on and that we still want things as they were, I think 1 WTC is fine as it is and the diamond tower would complement it but that's my opinion on it.

I was the Local 15d Party Chief who laid out the foundation for 2 WTC. I was working for Halmar International at the time. We did all the pile caps, grade beams, anchor bolts, and the shear walls below sidewalk grade. We had started doing the core foundation as well. Before that I was also the head Party Chief working for Yonkers/Tully/Pegno that did the PATH Train Restoration project at Ground Zero after 9/11. We built the temporary station right on top of the old station to reopen the tunnels going into Jersey. I remember when we got down to the original footings and removed the old steel base plates, the original surveyor's centerlines were still visible. I hit those centerlines within an 1/8". It was a great relief for me to be able to "check" into something that was original to the site layout at the very bottom of the pit.

In 2002, I volunteered and participated in a huge citizen meeting at the Javitz center regarding what people wanted on the site. It was an amazing and humbling experience. Each table of participants was led by a professional facilitator and a scribe. I was lucky enough to do both roles during the day. There were about 8 or 10 potential site plans that each table voted on. The pain and emotion at each table was palpable. I was very honored to have been able to participate

Participation in an event that Produces nothing is not my idea of Progressive thinking. Too many people involved in the Planning will Provide too many Perspectives & Possibilities to Pursue any Potential Progress.
I'm a wordsmith, by the way....just practicing my own profession as a scribe of sorts. But the Premise holds true...Too many chefs spoil the cuisine, & too many architects can destroy the vision of one designer.
When we stop trying to compete on the world stage; & INSTEAD focus on what's valuable & vital here, now, in this present age, at this point in time...
...then we'll accomplish so much more than "ANY #" of CORP board meetings that are rich in "CONVERSATION" but poor in actual "COMMITMENT" TO A CAUSE
There are too many "CONVERSATIONS" being had by the likes of Kamala Harris...she's constantly wanting to convene a conversation...real results are not on the agenda...only "CONVERSATIONS" where the facilitator says "Let's Talk..." about this situation.
Same is true with CORP entities who want their name on the latest innovation in building design...they all want their legacy to be...
"I PLAYED A PART IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THIS BEAUTY"
People of all genders, races, religions or professions want to be known for the
"BIGGEST EDIFICE, OBELISK, OR PHALLIC SYMBOL": Hence the "NUMBER" of stories (as in inches or victories or cars in one's collection) is vital to the design of a power structure on the stage at hand.
Instead of branching out on their own and doing some real good...TODAY...they all dream of the day when the plaque is hung in it's place of prominence and they can declare their work is done...after 25 years.
In the meantime...all those "low income" folks who could have been dwelling in an older building, but one of pragmatic use today...wait, and wait, and die, and wait some more...as their children grow up on the streets waiting for some CORP BOARD to come to consensus and "START" building a "work of art" that is designed with themselves in mind. All the while touting their objective as "LOW INCOME HOUSING"...
...words alone are worthless in the lives of those whose rely on them to be true.
Let's start really developing our communities...Community Development isn't all about CORP/Commercial needs..it's about the whole of the community who resides within it's COOPerative boundaries.
