    I was disappointed with the Batch 13 until I got halfway through the bottle. Let's see if Batch 14 improves for you over time like the 13 did for me. Thank you for the comparison, much appreciated.

    Thanks for the comparison! I like how every batch of Laphroaig 10 CS is slightly different. Sounds like this might not be one of the best but good to know that it's still good. I liked batch 13 quite a lot too.
    I haven't decided yet if I'll bother with this one. Partly because I want to focus on different whisky. But partly because I'm very sick of Laphroaig and their commitment to NOT commit to a craft presentation. The way that they give us some of the information on the label and drip feed us other bits on live streams and online when it suits them isn't good enough. Especially when we know that half the time they are chill filtering and colouring their products for no good reason.
    IMHO their habit of withholding information is a form of malicious compliance intended to muddy the waters and get us to give up wondering and give them the benefit of the doubt. I won't go searching online anymore for what should be on the label. The only reason not to put it on the label is so they can change their mind whenever they want which means we can never be 100% sure of anything... Not good enough!
    Anyway, thanks for the video my man. Cheers!

      Fair points, my brother. I really hope that's not their intention. Yes, I would appreciate more transparency from them - that's for sure.

I am curious to forego some signature Lappy for that smoked bbq attribute that you speak of. As they say, in the name of research... Love your reviews, you rock. But after poring from the 13 and mentioning your tasting noties you might want to change the comment in the left upper corner into Batch 13 as it states Batch 14 the whole review. You however gained a new sub on your channel! ;)

      @@MaltActivist Same with me. I ordered the batch 13 online it comes from the Netherlands. (I live in Belgium) and its still not here. That's why I bought the batch 14 in my favourite shop here in Belgium. I'm curious to compare. Ow men the last weeks I drink too much Islay's. It's just I have/had so many new ones and yeah I can't resist.. I ordered the port charlotte 10y heavily peated too with it (66euro so well worth it) . Afther the crazy tastings (so next month) I again keep it with a dram or 2 a day max something like an ardbeg 10 that's very good price/quality and good for daily comsumption. But I only have 1 bottle now off that. Damnit I need more bottles off the same stuff. But yeah it's not too far from me so that's a plus point.
      And yes I'm building a small Islay collection since beginning this year. That's why I try so many too. The start is always the most difficult.. Especially for my liver.. 😉

      @@MaltActivist Thanks and I will. I for example never drink and drive! Also I have to taste a lot because I only want the ones I really like and many are less money now a lot less than otherwise. (Time off the year) Afther this month is over I drink max 2 drams a day again like I did before. Also I want to have something to do again. My other passion are snakes. And I care very well for my male California Kingsnake. But here in Belgium since Corona there isn't a single club open for meeting a girls for example. It's really depressing here. No reptile shows too. No whisky club "meetings", or how you say it in English. Nobody comes outside anymore.. Just nothing to do here. 😔

    They are usually colored but not chill-filtered. Batch 13 is colored for sure as it is stated on the German label. John Campbell also acknowledge it in an interview earlier this year and said that coloring in no way affects the teste of the whisky.

      This is a John Campbell interview, largely about the 10 yo sherry cask but he mentions coloring and why they add color to some of their whiskies. The 10 yo sherry, by the way, is natural color and non-chill filtered. Thanks for all the great rewords. Please keep them coming. Cheers!

    • @Kvs-vf9nt
      @Kvs-vf9nt 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Colouring may never influence the taste off whisky. It's the chill filtering that ruins it most off the time. But I don't think it's chill-filtered because off the alcohol strength. It's usual under 47% abv that they chill filter the whisky.

    I have my batch 14 bottle since today and have a dram now. I like it. It's defenitly not bad. Also here in Belgium you can't almost find it anymore. I payed 150euro and it was normal 155euro. But I go there for my bottles so I payed 150. Defenitly worth the money.
