    This is a beautiful bike. I'm 49 years old, and my first actual motorcycle i owned was the Honda CT70, when I was 10 years old. I have looked over the years to find a decent one to restore, but yours by far is the most interesting mods I've seen. Love what you did to it. It does bring back memories.

    May I offer my congratulations on the amount of work that went on to make this bike what it is. Everything is so meticulously designed and made. The overall lines are so pleasant and the finish and combination of frame, wheels, brakes, dampers and engine and exhaust are really elegant. Again Congratulations.

    You are a freaking artist. I had a CT 70 when I was a kid back in the 1970's. It was so fun to ride on the streets, pasture and bayou trails. Would have rather owned a Yamaha 80 dirt bike but Dad could not afford it. Your bike is beautifully put together. Fantastic job. Enjoy it!

    I have a ct70 with a Lifan 140 engine. It will do 55 with the gps on my phone proving the speed. Any faster wouldn't be safe. The fact that this guy has bigger/better tires is awesome! Bet it maneuvers very nice! Beautiful bike!! Very very jealous over here.

    Amazing work and bike! I have a CT70 clone myself, and am amazed at what an 'attention magnet' this bike is! Mine is a Lifan 110 GY-3, and it has a 110cc motor in it. It's only capable of 50 MPH, but riding the local state park twisties, where the speed limit is 35 to 40, is a breeze! I stopped at the local nature center parking lot today, and I couldn't get out of there with all the questions and comments I was getting from people.

    Sweet litttle monster, but it is the exhaust sound that has me most liking this bike... that is a nice little rumble -- so much more pleasant to hear than many of these other small bikes on the road today.

    Who makes the 160cc motor? I have a 140cc Lifan that I ported and polished the head; I ported the intake and exhaust from 26mm to 28mm and also p&p the carb manifold neck to match, plus shaved the head .006mm for compression. I did some custom work to the flywheel casing so I could fit a 19t front sprocket to spin a 31t rear sprocket. It's cruises at 56-57mph comfortably without the worry of blowing it up.. it does 64mph little more punched out. Forward facing mikuni vm22 26mm carburetor and running a 115 main jet. Stretched 5 inches in the rear and customized fully besides the front forks and triple trees which is next so I can put a set of the 12inch rims on it..

    He should use bullet connectors with double crimps. One for the insulation, one for the wire. Those cheap red/blue/yello nylon connectors eventually break from the vibration. That's why you need to also crimp the insulation to limit flexing and the pinch on the copper.

    What a fantastic job you did on that otherwise little kid's toy and basically a piece of junk. Took a little toy and made it into a small motorcycle. Extending the wheel base was an excellent idea. Wouldn't hurt to extend it a little more if you plan to run at speeds of upward of 60 mph.

    Working with a Honda CT70 1971 right now... I may do something like this. Lifan 150cc or maybe Piranha 160cc. Too many guys on here saying "its a Dax" and "you cant get 160cc out of that motor" ... Its a Honda CT70 like mine, a lot of different motors can bolt-in to that frame but you can buy three modern Chinese motors making twice the power for the price of working with ONE 1971 Honda CT70 Motor.. hot rodding a vintage 1970s motor isn't the way to go. Honda invented this frame going way back into the late 1960s...the Chinese are still making it to this day.

      +The Moto Channel Hi It's me again I see you do reply to some people but that speedo came off a bike that had a bigger wheel so your new wheel is smaller and spins speedo faster making you believe your going 60mph ! Next time you want to see how fast your going put a GPS on and compare it to your speedo and don't be surprise if your only doing 47 or 50 mph .

    • @Gloomshadow100
      @Gloomshadow100 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +m42665  na, with the right motor and gear ratio these will do an easy 60mph..; my stock 70cc 1971 Honda CT70 does almost 50mph and that is with stock short gearing and a 1971 70cc motor that only puts out 6 horsepower. A Lifan 160cc puts out at least twice that, probably more like 14-15 horse. 4 speed gearbox on taller gears will get it up to 60mph easy.... or at least is SHOULD, I haven't tried it yet.

    • @kencrites2942
      @kencrites2942 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The ct70 looks fabulous, but...That billet shifter was it really made by you?, I've seen that exact Piranha offset aluminum billet shifter for sale on Ebay. Looks exactly the same. And i see Mugen on the engine??

    I have to day your bike is very customer. I also have to say its getting to be so custom its not what it once was. Never the less, its really cool and you are having a wonderful time with it and trays what matters.
