  • During 'Rose-Coloured Glasses', the band stops to scold security for taking down with excessive force for a gentleman who was just happy to be dancing. Greg Keelor incorporates 'Let Him Stay' into the lyrics @7:24. Touching moment as Greg holds the gentleman and then asks security to let people dance. And yes, the man stayed and danced. 'Let him dance!" Live in Vancouver, B.C. Canada; November 23, 2022. #letshavefun #bluerodeo

Only in Canada would "enforcement" staff or police think that this is appropriate action on a happy dancing fan at a concert. Jim and Greg were terrific and showed why we still love them after all these years and why we still need them today. Thanks.

@Craigcoxe He was dancing around in front of people in their seats! He's an idiot. Look at him! Those security guys are just doing their job. If I was dancing around and a security guy told me to stop, I would stop. And I would not resist. But this is Vancouver, so mostly pitiful left wing audience members with idiotic things in their heads like "ooohh! Police brutality! Excessive authority!" If a venue has rules, guests are to follow those rules. Doesn't matter if we don't agree with the rules.

K, thats a dumb statement, no. You would be arrested or worse in a ton of countries. Put it away dude. It was an idiot who had a modicum of power who chose to exercise it by being a bully. This isnt canadian.

This makes me so sad the way security treated this person. He was only dancing FFS. 5 security? F*ck those guys. Great for the band to step in.

Wild times. Jim and Greg are consistent in that way. They look out for the fans first, About a decade ago, I saw Blue Rodeo in Victoria, and it was the only time I had backstage passes for after the show,. My girlfriend and I were standing in line along with 5 or 6 other people, waiting to be let into the little meet & greet room. A security guard was holding us there for whatever reason, and lo and behold, Jim Cuddy shows up and tells the guard "Let these people in there. Don't make them wait. Let them in." And the guard let us in. Thanks Jim!

As Rick Danko once said/sang in the middle of" the unfaithful servant" to security as they were hawking a patron-"Easy with him, he's a human"

Thanks so much for filming and posting this! I was there that night up in the nosebleed seats so I didn't see everything going down as it was happening. The poor guy was just trying to have a good time and I really appreciate how Greg & Jim handled the situation and allowed him to stay as he deserved to.

You're very welcome! The Blue Rodeo lads handled it well. Imagine the big guy being arrested and thrown in jail: "What are you in for?" "For dancing like no one's looking and having fun at a concert." "Man, they'll throw the book at you for that?"

This is precisely why it's an honour to live in Toronto 'at times' not often but because of Blue Rodeo... Jim and Greg....wow....what they did, this is so 'f' awesome, the guy was just dancing to his favourite song.....we are living a a shit 'woke' world. Love what Jim and Greg said...go Cuddy and Keelor. Security macho over reaction idiot guards, fire them all. Love Blue Rodeo~~~~

Can anyone who was there tell me whereabouts this guy was dancing? It's hard to tell from the video. This is my work and you can only dance in front of your seat, we are not allowed to let people move around and dance, especially in the aisles. (for legal reasons, we are not set up and it is a fire hazard, and our aisles are staired) sometimes it is extremely difficult and frustrating to get people to go back to their seats.
Don't get me wrong this video looks terrible but a little bit more context could lead to more understanding. I'm not denying this is a mess though. Lol

It's a concert, people move and dance freely..What a ridiculous comment, as you have no clue what you're talking about

I like the compassion however the venue has a fire code obligation to keep the aisles clear...having said that the security staff were excessive and probably not trained properly

But is it fair to pay. G ticket holders if their whole concert is obscured by a large fat guy dancing between them and the show? There are several people whose view would be blocked by this guy.
