I actually flew on Indigo's new A320neo VT-IVK which had Pratt & Whitney PW1000g engines from Bangalore to Goa On a short domestic flight a year ago, It was a pleasant experience, the plane was unbelievably silent compared to the classic A320s which had CFM56-5A engines. I had got the news during June about Indigo retiring their old A320 classic VT-IHW, time flies by so quickly. Thank you so much for the amazing footage👌😊.
Can anyone explain why the fuselages of aircraft being scrapped here have had the skin cut out in neat squares? Usually when seeing aircraft being scrapped, you see that giant claw machine just crunching them up.
@Luca. I’ve heard that it is due to the big rise interest in collecting window panels and skin tags. Eg planereclaimers; doors to manual; planesouq etc - all selling parts ….
@@Mike5890Aviation For sure. I'm sure it would be the last 747 to be retired with grace had the pandemic not happened. So sad to see it cut up so soon.
Ahh...the old A320 of IndiGo. If you do come to India, you should fly with IndiGo; they're India's best airline with Vistara. IndiGo is India's best LCC. The fleet is being overhauled and we're getting A320neos!!
@@aviationin4k258 Yes that’s good news. And of course BA have now confirmed they are bringing some of the 380s back - crew familiarisation starts next month with Frankfurt and Madrid services - like they did when the A350 was being brought online…
@Luca It’s a bit shocking isn’t it when you suddenly see an aircraft you remember flying, lying virtually in pieces…..a lot has changed over these last 20 months hasn’t it …..
@@HeathrowAircraft certainly has changed my friend. Working in Canary Wharf, I loved seeing them fly past my window. I thought the one they sold to Titan would suit them perfectly, VIPs, sports teams etc, but it seems not! Love the channel, thank you. 👍
@@anthonyglee1710 Ah thank you - glad you like the channel; that’s great! You must have amazing views of City Airport arrivals and departures from Canary Wharf! Yes - EUNB had a short life with Titan really didn’t it; another ex BA “baby bus” gone…. Best wishes Steve
@Gaz S yes - makes sense - the original BOAC engine/ cowling on G-BYGC have been removed and were spotted on a commercial 747 last month - same thing I suppose - replaced with unserviceable engines as the aircraft will never fly again ….
@Bricklaying With Steve and Alex. That’s true…only BYGD left at St Athan now - when you think that was the main place where most of the BA 747s flew to for scrap - all gone there but one now 😔
@@HeathrowAircraft At least some of the BA ones were saved and we can still see Virgin Galactics cosmic girl laughing satellite into space 😍😍✈️✈️🚀🚀🛰🛰🧱👍🏼
Didn’t know there was so many private airfields in the UK that could take disused Commercial aircraft isn’t this place owed by MOD ? also must have some long runways to land 747…. Great videos 👍
@JJ 74 Hi - yes St Athan and Kemble Cotswold are the 2 main airfields where operators send their aircraft for storage / part out and scrap. St Athan has an MOD presence but Kemble is a commercial airfield. Well worth a visit to Kemble if you get a chance! Best wishes Steve.

@Mike5890 Thanks Mike - great that you have flown with IndiGo. Must make it feel more real seeing the older ones being scrapped ….
Sad seeing the BA 747 broken up. 😢😢😢

It's really depressing seeing BA's youngest 747 G-BYGG being scrapped😥.
I say the same thing whenever I see YGG. ):
Really sad because she had many more miles...
@@justtheguy27 YGG could have flown till 2025 at least on a single scheduled flight.

I had no idea G-EUNA/B have been scrapped! That service was so popular with London JFK people (who had the money)

The engines are mostly leased but if not they are the most valuable
