I think he was just nervous having to sing in a different style, because the critics in the crowd can't handle screaming I personally think his voice sounds fine. A bunch of jerks want to criticize him, but in my opinion if you are not on stage singing in front of thousands or more people then shut the hell up. His dad died not too long ago in my opinion I would not be feeling ok after that for well over a year or more the poor guy hasn't had enough time to grieve. I think he in his own way is trying to remain positive like his dad wanted him to be and trying to push through it by himself. Of coarse he won't be able to do what he was able to do at 20 he is an aging man, but in my opinion he is just as good now if not better than back then.
Oh, MUCH better indeed! He has the most versatile set of octaves unlike any other American artists. It's extremely tragic that his mom died a few years before his dad died in 2017. MMs been a severe wreck since, trying to front it, but drowning in alcohol and chronically altering himself on drugs was way too obvious of a cry for help. He's been sober for a few years now and is extremely tremendous. He sounds clear like back in the old days and even looks 20 years younger now! (In all honesty, I favor him with more weight though not too heavy for the sake of his health. I also prefer his voice much deeper like in the live video. 😍🤤😜)
aren't we gonna speak of how many artists under 30 can't scream anymore? Sure he can't do screaming but compared to some time ago his performance on stage has gotten so much better.
Honestly, I loved this deeper and seductive version of the song. There's not as much of a range so it's a less "impressive" version but I really like it.
