Very nice work.Great skills! I'm sure it's just the camera angle, but your hair looks to be very close to the spinning end mill. You are getting your sound levels much better and only need a better mic for your voice. You show more detail than any other you tube channel out there. You go girl!!! Thanks for all your hard work and time. MV
sorry summer is busy for me, I am remodeling an apartment for a friend so I haven't had as much time to work In the shop. im still trying to get at least one video out a week even if its a little short.
Bitte, Frau ! Senden Sie ein Video für Uns, das zeigt, wie er seine Werkstatt eingerichtet wurde, zeigt, welche Maschinen und Werkzeuge, die Sie Ihnen wesentlich halten ! Küsse von Brasilien !
music wire is spring steel that is pre heat treated to be springy most hobby stores sell it in the united states. im not sure about other countries www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=music+wire&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Amusic+wire
Do the sliding surfaces need sanding / polishing to remove the cutter marks? or is the surface finish the cutter leaves ok Surface finishes are hard to judge on video i've noticed grtz
Yes and no it will function just fine without sanding as long as you deburr the parts. but it wouldn't look very good. also sometimes you need to hand fit parts to make the fit more closely and that requires making the parts a little undersized and then sanding (lapping) them to size. you can make a gun by just machineing it and it will function but if you want a really well fitting gun you lapp
You may wish to put a curved chamfer or bevel on the bottom of that firing pin stop. That will help minimize impact marks on the hammer and peening that corner. :) You don't like Dykem for layouts?
Looking very nice! I have to get a proper milling machine now, I'm super jealous lol. I found a Grizzly almost identical to yours here locally, but it's 7k! Someday I suppose ;) Anyway, beautiful work my friend :)
I bought mine from Grizzly for 5k new. they have cheaper ones also. you can get a combo mill lathe for around $1400 to $3500 you don't need the crazy bad ass set up those smaller machines will do 99% of what you need. you can aslo pock up the combination machines on Craigslist for 1/2 price. I found a lathes on there for $1200 ish the same size as mine. you just have to look :) www.grizzly.com/search/?q=(mill+OR+lathe+OR+combo)
Check out the mini lathes and mills from Sieg at littlemachineshop.com. They run on 110v so they are perfect for the home shop. I can attest they will need some tweaking, but there are plenty of support forums out there for the different models and also that they are certainly capable of making the tolerances of a semi auto pistol. Biggest drawback I have encountered is the lower range of RPMs on some models limits you to HSS cutters.
Waffenschmiedinx, great job, I'm very excited to see every step of the new build. I loved the pistol very much great job. I became a patreon hope it helps. I have a question about your finished guns, do you have to do a form 1 with the ATF or something or is there no requirement to register because it's home made? How does that work.
thank you for the complements and especially for the patreon :) it helps very much . it is legal in USA to build your own guns as long as you don't sell or give them away. however there is a little gray area (like any thing with government) on intent . you can technically sell or give them away .so lets say I build my revolver and sold it a week later, that would show I had built it and intended to build it to sell it. but lets say I owned it for 5 years and decided to give it to a family member or I didn't want it any more so I wanted to sell it. technically I can as long as I have a serial number on it and who made it. as far as I know there isn't a time frame in witch they decide when the intent to manufacture and is not longer intent lol but the longer you wait the better off you would be :) I will keep mine however :) other than that you don't need to mess with the ATF but local laws can apply also depending on what state and county you live it also so be sure to check those :)
If you have a cell phone with an OK camera, you could likely use that as your second camera. It's a little hard to get it to sit at the right angle, but phone cameras work pretty well as backups.
ya cant please every one sorry :) in the later videos I try to make it low enough that you can turn it down and still hear me. the music cant be copyrighted so I have a very limited selection I can use
I just discovered your videos. Really nice. I have a similar lathe and not so nice mill but it will work. I thought I would try to tackle a project like this. Just one question before I do. Do I need to get approval from BATF when making a gun for myself? I definitely know I can't make one to sell without a manufacture permit. But if it is for myself is that OK? Or do I need approval?
I'm not sure about the new regulations that came down from Obama recently but before that it's it totally cool to build a gun for yourself as long as you don't sell it (sort of) you have to show intent so let's say you made 5 guns and sold them all on like 2 or 3 months. most likely you will get busted for illegal manufacturing. but if you make a gun and keep it for maybe 5 years and decided to sell it it's technically ok ( but with the new regulations I'm not sure it's somewhat vague) I'm fairly sure if it's for yourself it's ok. but even making a part for someone else is considered gunsmithing now and now requires a $2k payment for a permit or they bust you. I have been asking around about making stuff for yourself no one has a solid answer but all lean twards it's still ok for yourself. sorry I know that answer sucks but it's all I know at the moment.
Hello ladies! Do not think for molestation, but I feel a certain concern for your health seeing your tresses of hair hanging and rotating with the cutter cartridge. Do you understand what I'm talking about? Take care of yourself lady! Health above all, or almost all :)
best part of TH-cam are your build vids!
ahh TY !! :)
Nunca pensei em encontrar no TH-cam algo tão inspirador como os seus videos... Parabéns... Sou seu fã.

thank you :) its the camera angle my hair several feet from the spindle thank you for your concern though :)
Hate short videos but it's coming along nicely, can't wait to see the full finish. I need a mill and lathe so I can do this stuff also.

Nice work again. Can you tell me please what kind of music wire is?piano wire?and the gauge,1 mm.Thank you.
music wire is spring steel that is pre heat treated to be springy most hobby stores sell it in the united states. im not sure about other countries www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=music+wire&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Amusic+wire
Thank ou for the answer. And the gauge of the wire?here we dònt have hobby stores.Keep on the good work.By the way the sound now is better.

I will lapp the rails to fit the slide. the cuts I made for the rails came out really smooth but I will present lapp them also.
well well well look so great, i need asking type of steel you use for spring ? you semper tempered spring right?
high carbon spring steel / music wire
Mmm maybe in usa is easy find and buy that... but never i saw that here
You may wish to put a curved chamfer or bevel on the bottom of that firing pin stop. That will help minimize impact marks on the hammer and peening that corner. :) You don't like Dykem for layouts?
I already did with the belt sander
I like the DRO for layouts be cus it's making a line way more accurate then I can. personal preference :)

great vid
did the music wire firing pin hold up?
How do you know to do this kind of work do you just copy what you have or do you have a print? awesome work can't wait to see it shoot.
the .22lr I just built as I went, the .38 revolver and the 9 mm I am reverse engineering from other guns.
Nice work!
thank you :)!

Thanks for the info, good to know. Keep up the good work.
+Greg Johnson you're welcome and thanks :)
What size music wire did you use for the firing pin spring?
im not actually sure off hand I just grabbed one a little bigger than the hole. when I get out in the shop this weekend ill measure it :)
Sure thing, guessing around a 1mm.
+Greg Johnson I think it was
.027 inch ish
measured it today 0.5 mm :)
+Waffenschmiedin x 👍
Hello, thank you spread the video, please tell me where to get a pistol drawings.
email me and ill send them
como siempre fantastico tu trabajo , que calibre ?
Gracias :) 9mm

YA but I want to mount it so I don't have my hands full :)
+Waffenschmiedin x selfie stick might be adapted to work
true good idea TY :)
+Waffenschmiedin x np
what model gun is this? title says sig but you mention the 1911
I'm copying a sig 938 it's a 9mm but it's based off of the 1911 with a few small differences.
the p938 is the gun I carry with me all the time. I love it (want one for both hands so I'm building another) lol
+Waffenschmiedin x interesting I'd love to see you build a 1911 . is that coming down the line?
+Chris Anderson this is a 1911 :) just smaller
Waffenschmiedin x ahh silly me
I've watched most of your videos and the only thing i am not crazy about is the music, and I am a metal head lol.
ya cant please every one sorry :) in the later videos I try to make it low enough that you can turn it down and still hear me. the music cant be copyrighted so I have a very limited selection I can use
+Waffenschmiedin x I am impressed with your machining, keep up the good work!
+John McRae thank you :)!
muy bien hecho felicidades
Gracias :)
EVEN IF YIUR A GRANNY N HAVE KIDS , I STILL LOVE YOU❤❤

Thanks. I can always ask my BATF agent. I have another permit that they come by for inspections. I'll ask then.
Guess I wont be making a gun. Apparently making any gun In CA is illegal. Sadly I live in California.
Things aren't hopeless. Still might be possible to make a gun in CA but lots of rules to deal with.
i am sooo glad i dont live in that state
you seem to be running everything a bit slow
?
the feed rates ? not really any faster and id snap them off. I hate paying for new endmills
+Waffenschmiedin x yep it seemed that your feed rates were slow, thats ok then, its your equipment, great work though :)
+baronPolarBear thanks ;)
good job! can you make a glock slide?
if I had an example or drawings for it I should be able to :)
thank you ,I will find it
I need some one to teach me how to do this
books and youtube its not that hard really :) you can self teach
cool girl, i have no reason to think this wont be nive when your done
thanks :)
Sweet!!!
;) !
good!

Благодарим вас за ваше беспокойство им в общем. ;)
i have one suggestion, you need to get a new song.
but i love your machining skill, and your videos are so cool.
the theme music ? I love that song hehe :)
thank you :)
Sorry about your dad but you don't look old enough to have a grand child I look your work
