After coming back to pipe smoking after about a 10 year break(having only smoked drug store blends or 1Q) i have really enjoyed the variety of blends from Sutliff/Mac Baren and C&D. I have over 100 blends in my cellar many that are in tins and i have never tried them, most are just an ounce or two that i restock when i get low(that will not be possible on some in the near future obviously). I usually smoke a different blend each day and usually only one bowl a day. I find the variety means i never get bored or blind to the taste of any one blend. I do have a few favorites that i go to on a weekly basis and even a seasonal basis. English/balkin/Kentucky blends in the fall and winter and Virginia or Burley blends in the warmer months. Aromatic blends on a increasingly rare occasion, mostly if im around others. I realized there are a limitless number of blends out there and therefore the joy of trying something new will never fade with this hobby. Different styles of pipes also change the experience of a blend as well as age on a tobacco. Blends i wasnt sure about when i bought them changed dramatically after 6 months to a year in a mason jar. I can only imagine what 5 years will do to a good Virginia!
Just found your channel and Subscribed. I’ve not heard of Milan’s Christmas blend. I’ll try it next year if they have it available. That’s for sharing.
Funny you’d cover this one…it’s my absolute favorite Christmas blend. More savory than sweet. First time I tried it was during one of my visits to their shop years ago, and I bought a lb on the spot. It’s the only aromatic I’ve ordered in quantity. Great review.
Thank you very much! It really is a great blend, and I think overlooked in this category of Christmas blends. There's quite a few seasonal blends, and especially right now given everything happening with Sutliff, Cringle Flake is getting all the regular 'YT Review Circuit'
