How to Combine First and Last Name in Excel

- In this video tutorial, we’ll have a look at how to combine the contents of two cells - in this case a first name and a family (or last) name - thanks to which we’ll have a full name merged in one cell. Keep in mind that you’re not limited by the size of the table - you can work with lists much longer than this. It’ll save your time and you’ll avoid dull copying and pasting data bit by bit.

You way is so typical I have a essay way
Thanks for this, but I cannot delete the individual cells or it will delete the new combined cell. I don't need the individual cells. Help please.
Great video but be advised, text needs to be formatted in "General" format or else the formula itself is displayed rather than the desire result.
how to copy concatenated data? like Tommy Smith in column "D" to some other excel sheet???
Brilliant
Kelly, it's been a pleasure helping you :)
How about getting the first letter of the middle name. Example. Jose Mandito Rosales- Jose M. Rosales.
IS there a way to hide the separate first and last name cells? I just want the combined cells to show up on my excel sheet
helpful
Sagar, you’re welcome :) Thank you for your feedback :)
What do you do if after doing this you need to delete the separate “First Name” and “Last Name” and just have the combined column
Hide
Copy the combined column and paste value in the same column then you can delete the first name Nad last name column. I hope this would help you
Thank you very much for this video!! I have a question please, how can I separate the names if they have a minus symbol (-) in between? Example: John-Smith
Thank you so much!!
How about the reverse? I have a column with the full name and trying to separate them.
Thanks for the helpful video. There's an extra space on Lily Jones...must be a space after Lily in cell B4. Cheers
Great Sir
But I'm facing issue after entering formula in results showing formula itself
But now when I delete columns for first and last name it removes the entire thing? How do I get round that?
Does anyone know how to do this, but abbreviate the names?
thanks soft simple trick learned at age 26
How do you keep the merged names but delete the source cells?
Colleen, here is video tutorial: th-cam.com/video/xO5AkIgjpxA/w-d-xo.html :)
What if the person has 2 names before last name? example: Lopez, Anna Marie? Its hard to do concatenate
When I drag the formula down the column, it just copies the name in the first cell down to the other cells. How can I fix this?
But i need to copy the combined data to another table 😢
@0:50 to skip the intro
Advice to anyone. Listen to it in 2x speed. Helpful video but too slow. Thank you.
Saeeda, thank you for your feedback :)
@@ExcelTutorialsEasyClickAcademy Thank you for a very helpful video. 🙂
This does not help...But okay. I still have to re write every customer name to copy them.
What exactly did not work for you?
What if there are multiple spaces and comma ?
