- Sometimes, my sheep surprise me with their productivity.
This sweet ewe lambed triplets yesterday, with really no issues. Little did I know just how BIG they all were!!!
And she is FEEDING THEM ALL!

You totally should get a coffeemaker for your barn, maybe one of those pad ones for a quick pick-me-up or a relaxing hot cocoa!
Great idea. However; She would miss out on her warm up walks from the barn to the house, warm up coffee in house and warm up walks back to the barn. 1 degree above 0 and then below. She needs the walks to shake out her back and legs a little.

I love that there always seems to be that one mom the lambs gravitate towards and climb on.... almost the nanny of the group.

I love to watch the lambs prance around when they get out in the open, and I especially enjoy watching them walk on top of the Moms! Too cute! ❤️
When I worked as a large animal assistant our dr always manually “cleaned” out the retained placenta,did a antibiotic vag insert. He always said that stuff hanging was a giant bacteria ladder.
I’ve seen the vet do that after pulling a calf. So I was wondering the same thing.

I'm a numbers geek and I love the technology you have to document all of that information for each lamb.
For sure, the record keeping these youTubers do is amazing.
It is so important to have real depth of truthful information at critical times in their lives if you want to progress the development of your flock/herd as much of this material is genetically influenced. Some features are heavily influenced by genetics whilst others are much less so - the main influences in this case they are being altered by such things as their environment and management (eg nutrition, disease, pests and parasites etc). The time scale for seeing real progress is truly massive - often years!
Their so much truth in that old statement; "Is it nature or nurture that influences the creature").
Watching Sandi taking down pens and doing various chores at high speed to "Jingle Bells" is just so hysterical. Thanks Sandi, so sweet!

I started watching at the last December lambing and I always look forward to seeing the “Lampede” love watching the beautiful mama ewes and the sweet babies.

I had a miracle boy after 12 yrs. He changed my life for the better.
Lo Ro ... our journey wasn't so long, but over 5 years until of male infertility issues until our IVF daughter arrived. Our miracle came the following xmas with a positive test on Dec 26th, we ended up woth 2 babies when we'd spent years hoping for just one.
I teared up when that sweet little teddybear was introduced 🥲🤧🥴🤗
Noah has to be the cutest lamb with his giant ears. He also seems to love the cuddles and kisses.

The greater the number of foetuses present the more difficult to be accurate about how many the ewe is carrying at that time. It doesn't help either if the ewe is jumping about much in the crate when being checked. please remember that the major reason for scanning is to identify empty ewes and for those that are try to establish how many she is carrying.
I agree with the point you are making nevertheless.
True but scans are not perfect. Ewes dont hold still. I gave benefited from the dots indicating number of lambs.

I know nothing about farming but you are such a caring person towards your sheep. In my dreams I feel like I could run a farm because I love animals. But I understand it’s much much more involved. When I’m not dreaming, in my real work life I’m a labor and delivery nurse. I smile when you start talking about having to give pitocin(oxytocin), something I do after every mom delivers her baby. You’re a labor nurse for your sheep also. Great work!

I just love #16s' lamb with 5 spots from ear tip to eat tip! Cinco! I'd never leave the barn with all that cuteness to love on! #16 looked at you when you were extolling her virtues like, "Piece a cake! I love having kids!" Part of me envies you and part of me knows how cold a barn can be and how hard farming is (horses and hay!) My very least fav chore, having to climb into the silo and knock the grain down.....ahhhh chooooo...for days! And contacts...that only happened once. You are a very blessed lady Sandi, never take for granted your farm family and friends...and your honey! ~Peace

That one ewe can certainly air drop like an expert, I guess she is, she's lambed a few times after all. Baby Noah is getting so strong, and to see he drank 150mL was awesome!! Yay Noah!!! Sandi, you so need to have "Away in a Manger" as the song when you put the decorations on the tree. "Oh Christmas Tree" is awesome, but away in a manger makes so much more sense to me! I love the videos! My dog does tend to get jealous when the babes are all calling for mom because she comes running and wanting attention every time!

Tell the parents of Noah that it took me 10yrs to have my 1st daughter, my second was also fertility drugs. Those miracle babies are special whether human or lamb. So happy for both miracle babies. Sooo h as ppy today is a good one for you. Your biggest Colorado fan.
Our Nfld local ewe now a recognized breed. Gave birth to triplet ewes 10 lbs each raised all 3 who were all kept as brewing ewes thanks for the beautiful memory from 45 years ago.
