That and it's a send up of the very same slashers that it referenced throughout the film. The fact that the Scary Movie franchise started as a parody of Scream is some real ouroborus shit. In the best way possible.
A few fun facts: 1. Kevin Williamson, the scriptwriter, confirmed that Stu was the one who killed Casey in the opening. 2. When Stu brings him out to Sidney, Neil Prescott is wearing the same clothes he was wearing early in the film. This means that Billy only talked to Sidney to distract her from Stu kidnapping her father. He even plays music so Sidney won’t hear the struggle.
Kevin and Wes have both said Stu killed Steve while Billy was on the phone. Billy is in the Ghostface outfit and is the one who stabs Casey multiple times. Then Billy and Stu together finish Casey off off camera and hang her from the tree.
And Principal Himbry calls him Fred. Principal Himbry is Henry Winkler aka The Fonz from Happy Days 👍🏻 when he looks in his office closet, there's a leather jacket hanging inside
Fun fact, production came up with the idea of having the killer wipe the knife clean of blood so that during shooting there wouldn't be any continuity errors with having a bloody or not bloody knife between scenes
yall funny as hell 😭done took me out with that "aye daddy, i ain't gon lie, you almost caught one" "you was really finna be a deadbeat father" got me hollerin early morning 😭
This movie is what flipped the horror genre on it's head. Everyone expected Drew Barrymore's character (woman at the beginning) to be the main character and survive as she was used so much in the promos and posters. The fact that she was killed at the beginning turned everything we knew about horror films on it's head.

4:16 back in the olden times before everyone had a "cellular phone" we got people that called the wrong number all the time. Before caller ID it was easy to make calls to home phones and have no idea who it was. If you were young and bored enough it could lead to chatting lol

Principal Hembry was the Fonz/Henry Winkler. (one of Fonzie's jackets is on a coat hanger in the closet) 5. Tatum/Rose McGowan as long as I have a face.😝😈 6. I love how the inept killer keeps getting his ass kicked🤣 7. Remember when owning a cell phone was rare enough to be suspicious? fuck i'm old also: The killer keeps wiping the knife clean to help with continuity (suggested by the stuntman playing the killer apparently)
Reverse kkk costume is funny cause i read somewhere they originally wanted to have the costume be white, but changed it to black bc it looked too much like the kkk lol. Also, Wes craven directed both nightmare on elm st and scream, and that was Wes dressed as Fred the janitor
1-900 Numbers were (are?) “premium” numbers that cost money to call. People used to call in to talk to psychics and businesses like the one at the beginning of the Hotline Bling video 😂
It would be great if you guys reacted to all the Scary Movie movies. They're HILARIOUS! They would need to be heavily edited for youtube, but it would be great if you two did. Pretty please? 🥺
The horror genre was struggling and Scream revived it. Wes Craven got the idea when they couldn't catch a serial killer (Gainesville Ripper)in Florida. It was a smaller community and he terrorized them for 3 years so they knew he was local. It got to a point that everyone suspected their cousin or ex-husband etc. He realized that was way scarier than a monster.
The great thing about Scream was it was so self aware, in that it even though it is a serious subject it constantly refers to old Horror films tropes, and makes reference to the plot of them etc. It also spawned superb sequels, each on of them is great too and well worth a watch. You gotta do the sequels, the writing is just so clever. Wes Craven killing off the most famous person in the film in the first few minutes. An incredible amount of such famous female actors in all the Scream films just too many to mention. It's a who's who of future Hollywood talent. Everyone gets the Freddy Kruger reference with the janitor outside the Principal's office ( or should I say The Fonz ), but not many seems to notice the cameo by Linda Blair, yes her of one of the most famous horror films ever in The Exorcist, as the obnoxious reporter in a brief cameo role early in this film. Great work by Wes Craven to drop her randomly in like that.
What's so crazy to me is that I just watched all of the scream FRANCHISE (yall will understand if yall continue the series) for the first time myself nd its become my favorite movie series for the rest of the year nd yall being my fav movie reactors reacting to my fav movie series is the BEST thing
Yes! Anaconda for sure. Arachnophobia and Piranha movies too. I hated those kind of movies! haha. But considering I watched Scream at a very young age, this will always be the first "horror" film that traumatised me 😂
Funny you mention 13 Ghost, when I was 3-4 my mom had a VHS copy of it. Whenever she turned her back I would sneak it in the player. Between managing the house and my two baby brothers she finally gave up. I guess she thought it would finally scare me and I would stop. It was my favorite and I used to watch it over and over.
I was 5 years old when this movie came out, probably 6 years old when it came out on VHS. My big brother was watching almost everyday, so I was exposed to this at a young age 🫣 It’s still a classic tho 😅

If you want scary frfr it's gotta be Sinister or Occulus by a longggg shot. They're the type of scary you only watch once lmaooo. A good scary show with an insane plot is Haunting of Hill House, I watch that like every time it gets cold outside it's freakyyyy.

This is one of my favorite movies, and not just because it's horror. It did revolutionize the horror genre though, as it was the 1st horror movie to have 2 people be the serial killer. It was a huge twist at the time.
800 numbers were free, 900 (and later 976) were the ones you paid for. Like, "99 cents the first minute, $3 each additional minute" kinda stuff. Also, the Scream movies aren't particularly scary but I've always enjoyed the "who's the killer?" angle.
This was a hilarious reaction that had me rolling time and time again! This is my all-time favorite horror movie, in large part because it's so funny with so much iconic dialogue that I still quote to this day. I saw the movie in the theaters with a bunch of my friends in high school when it was released and I've loved it ever since. But if you're looking for truly terrifying movie, then I recommend "The Ring" (US version).
The reason Ghostface keeps cleaning his knife is for continuity. :) They needed the knife to be 'reset' for the next scene they were going to film to make sure they could explain why it was bloody at one moment but clean the next.
I know this two think that old scary movies were not as scary as today's, and is true to a certain degree, we now have better technology but I would like them to react to Texas chainsaw massacre to prove them that you don't need great effects to make a movie scary, sometimes the most cheap it looks the better.
Scream wasn't supposed to be extremely scary; it's a whodunit slasher. It's beloved because of how fun it is.
That and it's a send up of the very same slashers that it referenced throughout the film. The fact that the Scary Movie franchise started as a parody of Scream is some real ouroborus shit. In the best way possible.

This is one of my favorite movies, and not just because it's horror. It did revolutionize the horror genre though, as it was the 1st horror movie to have 2 people be the serial killer. It was a huge twist at the time.
Definitely do a 13 Ghost reaction 👏
There is one Blockbuster left on earth in Bend Oregon.
The reason Ghostface keeps cleaning his knife is for continuity. :) They needed the knife to be 'reset' for the next scene they were going to film to make sure they could explain why it was bloody at one moment but clean the next.
I’m so glad you guys are watching this.. I hope you watch the franchise 🙌🏾💯
I know this two think that old scary movies were not as scary as today's, and is true to a certain degree, we now have better technology but I would like them to react to Texas chainsaw massacre to prove them that you don't need great effects to make a movie scary, sometimes the most cheap it looks the better.
