WW2 night fighter technological evolution' is fascinating to study. Dad was RCAF and said to me that he may not have survived the Battle of the Ruhr, (that approximate time frame), if he had not been injured and laid up for 6 weeks! He flew Wellington's and Lancaster's. The P 61 Black Widow and Mosquito are an interesting study. The Germans could not keep up with Allied airborne radar technology, and never had enough night fighters to make a real difference in defense of the Ruhr. Thanks for your efforts.

I like the Heinkel He 219's lines, and I imagine it had several pioneering features for night fighting. 🦋The 4 hours loitering time would have aided in near total interception ability.🐞

In denmark 1945 at the airport STUTSPUNKT GROVE (Karup) the germans left a whole squadron Heinkel 219 lined up and ending being sent to the scrapman - kind of sad

Logical axioms
Milch was right. The Uhu was not worth the cost. The Ju 88G could night fight faster, further, with rear radar and shragmusik. Heinkel was possibly the worst Aircraft company in Germany.

With a speed of 550, the Ju-88G was 65 km/h slower than the Uhu (615). The range is about the same. The Heinkel He-219 was used as the Lb-79 in Czechoslovakia in the early fifties.
@@xaverer4102 Speed usually has conflicting source numbers. I've read 570 at 5km for the Ju 88 G-6, others say 555.
What matters is that the Ju was already in mass production, and did everything the Uhu could do, for a lower cost.
