  • I’ll take you inside Casa Chameleon at Las Catalinas in Costa Rica, a Relais & Chateaux resort that looks great on the surface, but was ultimately a real disappointment. I’ll show you what I loved, what disappointed me and everything in between. The resort’s built into a cliff with great views of the Pacific Ocean, and nice size villas with plunge pools.
This is one of the most expensive resorts in Costa Rica, so I think it’s fair to have high expectations.
Casa Chameleon at Las Catalinas is a 21-room resort located in the coastal town of Las Catalinas, situated on the Guanacaste coast of Costa Rica. The resort features 21 villas, each with its own private saltwater infinity pool and ocean views.
Casa Chameleon offers one on-site restaurant, which serves locally-inspired cuisine, focusing on fresh ingredients sourced from nearby farms and fishing villages. The restaurant also offers a selection of international wines and cocktails, and even though I didn’t like this resort. The views are some of the best in Costa Rica.
In addition to the private villa pools, the resort has a main infinity pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Guests can enjoy various activities, like yoga classes, cooking lessons, and guided hikes through the nearby hills.
The resort is situated in Las Catalinas, a car-free, master-planned town that emphasizes sustainability and outdoor living, but seemed sterile and uninteresting.
Casa Chameleon at Las Catalinas is located approximately 45 minutes from Liberia International Airport and about an hour from Tamarindo, a popular surf town known for its nightlife and dining scene.

I really enjoyed your perspective on that resort. Personally there are so many beautiful beaches in Costa Rica that you could stay in at $100 a night room, and have a beautiful view and a beautiful beach

Glad you enjoyed it.... I stayed at 24 places in Costa Rica so relative to other places in Costa Rica I think it's really overpriced... just my opinion.

$1300 a night isnt worth it IMO. You can get a huge airbnb for half that.

at about 1:20 in the video I do list the price... I had it as text at bottom of screen as I was talking... anyway $1300ish a night... a lot. Next time I'll just say the price instead of having it as text

How do I know if I like if I don't go. At $1300 a night, I think you should expect a lot. My review was balanced and fair.... 95% of my reviews are positive... but if I'm dissapointed I should say so.

Yeh maybe.... bad design and overpriced resorts do get me worked up especailly when there are sooo amny better options in Costa Rica at 1/2 or even 1/4 of the price.
