still got this vinyl...wish the younger generation could have experienced this at the clubs back in the late 80s & early 90s. no time to hold onto a damn cellphone. Dancing all night, one jam after another, meeting others, no guns, no fighting. We just wanted that damn bass. so grateful for that time!!!!
You know how old you sound? It was the ecstacy that wasn't as weak and controled as it is now that made those days epic!... Wait there, I sound old now.... Touche!
we are living in different times... the last club in our city closed it's doors last summer and they where having a goodbye party after 50 years in existence... The last night the DJ was playign massiv tunes some people where dancing and the rest that where not dancing where on their cell phones and having their drinks... The DJ even played a game with the people... He said who can bring me there cell phones here till the night is over wins a bottle of champagne ! 3 people won there bottles of champagne... Maybe 20 people had broguht him there cell phones... The one on one face to face contact is no more... And it's sad... RIP CASA
Oh yeah. House music all night long. A classic track from the early days. So glad I was there to experience those beautiful night's of house and acid house music with all you fellow old skool party people.
1989 was the best summer in UK ever. Energy, Sunrise, Dance 89, etc. we were totally rocking all night long in open air and this was one of the best tunes !
@@angelbryan98 Hi, hope you´re doing good. I´ve seen your reply on the above post, as it has shown to me as well because I also replied on it.some time ago. You don´t need to be sad, be happy instead that your generation has YT at least to listen and enjoy the music of our time that lifted up so many of us. (WE had only MTV, Viva and VH1, lol....). Nevertheless, I woujd like to take the opportunity to give you a short imagination about how my generation experienced that era. House and Rave, it wasn´t just music, it was a FEELING you had deep inside. And this doesn´t mean you felt it only as an individual, it was a collective feeling of a whole generation! I´m 63 now and still got this feeling in me and I think many of my generation are the same. Bigger towns and cities were doing house and rave parades back in the days and a lot of ´em were called LOVE parades. I mean, the name said it all. It didn´t matter were you came from, if you were black or white or other, or what was your gender and so on. We all felt like one big family and had one thing in mind: to have fun and dance at the club or rave party. I luckily had the chance to dj in a small club for some years back in the days and, oh man, I can tell you even in that smaller clubs weekends went nuts! It wasn´t rare that our weekends started early thursday evening and ended after 4 a.m. monday morning.....(with some hours sleep in between, lol...) I knew folks that were headin´ to work direct way from the club... I hope I was able to give you a short view of how we experienced that special era of music. If you may add the funk and disco era, you can say our generation was really blessed to see - and live - the most mesmerizing 3 decades in modern music history..... So don´t be sad, continue listening to the music of our time and enjoy, it makes me proud that it goes to the next generation!
@@themoonandthesky4803 Thank you very much for your answer. The thing is that is not just music that I envy but your time as a whole, everything is plastic and superficial nowadays not just music. If there was a time where people where truly happy I think it was before the internet, before the 21st century and I can see it on what you said and other people experiences.
Man I've got so many fun memories flowing through my mind as I listen to this song. The music, hanging out at the nightclubs, getting at the honeydips was so much fun back then. Boy those were the days! Lol....
Back in the day I went to the Underground in NYC. There was a big frat party going on and Jomanda performed. I didn't even know what a good time I was having until I look back.
“I need someone to play me a song that’ll make my body rock all night loooonnnnggggg.‼️” This music was all I needed back in the disco days and nights to work my body. The beat would bounce off the wall and feel like thunder coming up through the dance floor. You’re right, this was a massive hit in LA too. Catch One!
I still have cassettes taped these old school song I have been a music hoarder for old school since childhood. those were the times we used to dance pantsula dance to these songs. The Jack Mixes of 88/89. Those were times of Lapolokga if UKNO UKNOW.....only S.A dinosaurs will understand :-) what I'm talkin bout. Mzansi will never be the same again, those were the times.
I remembered this song when I was a kid. I used to be playing GTA San Andreas On PS2 and this song came in. I would dance to this song while that song was played in GTA. lol
I remember da nites flying on da W.Side Hwy doin 140 mph @ 2 a.m. And racin to get to da club da Tunnel. This for ppl who use to be doin da thang in da Starions, Vetts, and da I-Rocks Z 28's. Oh man those as some fun nites, I even meet da chicks who made this record.
I'd forgotten this was another one of those house records from around '88-'89 (including Inner City's 'Big Fun', Orbital's 'Chime', Deelite's 'What Is Love?', and Lil Louis' 'French Kiss'), that used the Yamaha solid/lately bass preset years before Haddaway and Whigfield.
I come back to these old records. And people should to remind them where pure dance music came from. Yes before was soul jazz and funk. But sampling created a new amazing era.

Imagine if you could: YOU'RE A TEENAGER OR EARLY 20's ... And THIS IS THE ONLY MUSIC YOU LISTEN TO AND PARTY TO !!! I wish i had the words to explain the Nightlife we had back then, there were still at least 20 Clubs open, but with the "GUN CULTURE" AND" GANGSTER RAP "coming ..... Well you know what happened. Because EARLY RAP/HIPHOP was about partying and having a good time.

When the lyrics are "please mister DJ get heavy on the bass" you've got a good song period
Many lyrics are allusive... "dance" is sex movement and "music" is sex feeling... thousands songs use these metaphors...
