    I got my RX7 at a similar time to you and found your videos, I’ve had the same issues since day 1 of getting it.
    I decided to go single turbo a couple of months back and have been waiting for the kit to be ready. Then by chance the other week you announced you were going single turbo also!
    Relatively similar journey, can’t wait for mine to be done! Any expectations on power?

    I have a series 6 and have no issues for 17 years. Still has compression in the 120s and it's 295 rwhp with main cat and stock injectors.

      17 years without opening the motor? That is really impressive. What are your maintenance secrets?

    Nice. Love these high revving rotary engines. Reminds me of the Mazda 2.5 v6 in my vehicle, less 2,000 rpm.

    We have the BNR stage two here in the states and it made 460 to the wheels at 20 psi. I’m thinking to try it at 25 psi for 500 wheel sequential.

    you can get compressor surge from the twin turbos, When I had mine is fluttered like crazy, but I had a FMIC

    Are you going to run a turbo blanket or heat shielding on the single? I’ve got a high mount single turbo Bridgeport and ended up chucking a blanket on it because it’s super close to the brake master
    Interested to see your set up and enjoying the vids man!

    I think the twins make sense if you are after authenticity and the single for power, aesthetics and obviously newer technology! I received my rats nest shirt today, cheers mate...

    when hes complaining about the stock setup and how hard it is to isolate faults...it made me realize how standard it is to run a custom fuel/delivery system from 13b turbo to 12a NA. As well as if a professional ever has to do any work on the car. I guess thats why im just looking at fb/fcs... i mean if im going to build a 12a or swap a 13b i may as well cut out the clutter in the bay put a stand alone, run a modern steering setup as well as a 4 wheel disk system etc. Which is nice with the rx-7 all that space in the bay, and inherent need to run a custom system and upgraded cooling/oil/fuel systems. So much of this is standard for a reliable rotary build and experience. I got into this realm when looking into swapping a vr30ddtt for a z31....the rats nest that is that engine...and subsequent brake/steering/rear end mods that swap would require....as cool as it sounds...i was like MEH...id rather get my hands on a rotary. If i dont want the rotary any more i can look onward to that z31 vr30ddtt build. I just want an ideal daily hatch back with around 400 reliable HP Off pump gas. If not that its 13b single turbo or 12A street port as it would be a daily. Rx-7 or z is really the only car i ever want to drive for the rest of my life.

    my twins are simplified as you described and I hit 400hp on e85. When I upgrade fuel system I might high flow them

    Hey man, have come to a similar fork in the road with my 1jz. Not sure what the exact legality of it in in your state, but how are you getting around the need to engineer a single turbo swap? Trying to decide between playing it safe and rebuilding the painful to work on twins or just risk it and go single :/ Any advice would be awesome! Love the vids btw

    Exhaust noise is also con of single, when i went single it was so much louder

  • @terrybutler3370

    We have a twin turbo FD with what we assume to be "stock" turbos and it has that awesome turbo "flutter" noise. Also the turbos are very loud when they spool up. We do have HKS intakes on but I really doubt they are responsible for the noises we hear. The car is an RE Amemiya car imported from Japan so we are really unsure of what exactly has been done to the car other than obvious things like the intakes, exhaust, GReddy radiator and intercooler etc and of course the mental bodykit. The engine has had a mild street port done also. So is it possible we have aftermarket twins or RE Amemiya have done something to them to allow that turbo flutter stoo stoo stoo stoo stooo🤣 to happen?🤷‍♂️

    Do you ever plan to get another XR6 turbo Ford Falcon? I think that the majority of people came for that and your most popular vids are with the Falcon. Not that I hate the RX7, but I just miss the Falcon content.

    Quick question ZB, got any recommendations on where to feedwires through the firewall on the FD?

    • @ZacBaldy
      @ZacBaldy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So luckily I’ve only had to do this once, unfortunatly it was 0ga positive for the battery relo😂 I fed it down the passenger fender and through the rubber grommet that goes into the passenger foot well

    Hi ZB, which Hypergear turbo was that? And any other similar turbos you'd recommend?

    • @OhLiQuiDz
      @OhLiQuiDz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      atr45ss, atr45sat is another great turbo for the rb25 platform, basically the internally gated version of the atr45ss

      @@OhLiQuiDz thanks for your reply - altho from some research, it seems these two wouldn’t be the best fit for the 13B?

      @OhLiQuiDz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@iTtInU17 Yes, Zac has a modified rear housing of the ATR45SS to better suit the 13B, he is trialing this turbo for Tao from Hypergear, should be good to see ✌🏾

      Hey mate! Yeah as stated before, it’s an ATR45SS2, so a bit on the smaller side for a rotary, with a 1.06AR rear. I’m going for response over anything. ☺️

      Debatable….. sizing or components working coherently is the guts of it.
      No rats nest in my S7, my hairdryers are running in parallel.
      Nobody’s home till maybe 3000 or 3400rpm but after that there’s a farkn party & everybody’s invited…..😜✊

    Interesting, also doesn't running a single turbo help with weight reduction too?

    • @ZacBaldy
      @ZacBaldy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s correct, well I guess depends on how big your turbo is and what material your making the piping from I guess :) but yeah I’d say you’d save a bit of weight
