Brother, you have taught me and shown me things that might have taken months or years to learn on my own. We have several things in common such as I was a plumber myself until I became disabled and could no longer work the job. I still love the outdoors life and get away to the woods and wilderness as much as possible. I love working with my hands and with knives and I make pretty much everything I need. These are skills that everyone should learn and put to use. When the SHTF these skills will be invaluable to your survival. What we call bushcraft and survival skills was the everyday life of the people just a fee short years ago in the way of time, our ancestors did it with tools of stone, with a stick with a rock tied to one end and a testament to their skills is that we are here today. I am confident that if SHTF in my lifetime that I will be able to provide for my family thanks in part to some of the skills that I have learned and practiced from watching theses videos

That knife is awesome! 7cr17mov isn't bad for knife stock, definitely durable and easy to dress up an edge on. The kicker is the delrin scales. For a somewhat modern material it doesn't quit under the sun or in the rain, the science behind it is there. That's the kind of knife that isn't "special" but will hold its own as a user.

I have 20 large and medium fixed blades. This knife is one of my favorites. It feels great. It's balance is amazing. The edge is good. It's a stainless blade so it needs constant resharpening but bring along a worksharp traveling pocket sharpener and your are good all weekend. I companion it with my old timer sheathed mini saw and my council tool boys axe and my scout camp knife and fire stick. I can build just about any kind of shelter and process most small game.

My 183UH is just a good basic knife that I like to keep around for yardwork/utility uses. Even through I have more capable knives this one just feels good in my hand, and like you said I really like the wide upswept blade. You can't go wrong with this Uncle Henry knife.

Just bought one of these. A good knife that would be a great knife if they lost the finger grooves on the handle. The blade shape is very effective.

Hey Brian Grest video brother , and the lacing demo was really cool and different I enjoyed your review on this knife ! As a matter of fact since I've watched several videos of yours on Schrade knives I've become a fan of a lot of the Schrade knives ! I have a pretty good collection of high end bushcraft /hunting knives and they're all in the price range of $175-$375 not trying to boast but what I've seen from your reviews on these Schrade knives is awesome , great quality for the price hands down ! this will be another Schrade that I'm going to pick up for sure, I agree with you that it does have a Nessmuk look to it , can't wait to get it in hand ! Thanks again Brian 👍🏻🇺🇸!

Just a quick tip for the lacing: You can use an axe/tomahawk as a gauge for the thickness. Just bury the edge of the axe into the stump and stick the knife next to the bit of the axe. The side of the bit will act as a guide for the leather making it easier to achieve an even thickness - the distance between the bit and the knife blade will determine the thickness of the lace.

That is a nice looking knife and it does what you wanted it to do and probably more as well. The only thing I don't like about it is the short blade since most people who are camping out and will be processing food and wood will need a knife with a longer blade. That is why I have the Schrade SCHF26 which don't have the longest blade, but do have a decent blade for that type of work.

I'm rather impressed, Bryan. Looks like a great skinner and a pretty good all around camp knife. A solid tang and it seemed to be quite robust in it's thickness as well. And yes, not all knives are made for chopping...I have some that are and some that are not. And.....you didn't cut yourself!!!!!!! Ha!! >;) Thanks for the review...love "Schrade" Saturdays.

Hey Brian, I would still like to ask if you could talk with schrade company designers and make these knives with the options of a convex grind blade. I simply love the convex grind, it seems to perform better at bushcraft and camping tasks than any other type of grind and some of these knife designs they are producing would be awesome with the convex grind, I think they would out perform the same knives with any other type of grind such as flat or hollow. When I got my first convex ground knife from Bark River knives I was hooked and have bought and used them for almost every task I needed a good knife for

I think that's a pretty knife. Hey man that danged Estwing I bought for a Truck axe proved worth every penny this past weekend in Tennesee. Some good ol' truck campin, well at a race track but at least it was in the mountains. but we was poundin stakes and choppin wood and all that...Not very bushcrafty or survivalistish... But That really isn't what I am or who most of us are.

I like the looks of the 183 UH, it looks very old school. The staglon scales seem very durable. How thick is the blade ? I will be going deer hunting in November in Michigan's upper peninsula, this looks like a good all around hunting, camp and bush craft knife. I think I will pick one up. Thanks for a great review.
