I remember getting this game for Christmas when I was a kid. The very next day my poor mother had the flu and she was in bed all day while I was in the next room playing this, so she had to hear that music over...and over...and over. By the time my dad had dinner on the table she was ready to throw the NES out the window.
***** I can go one better. See, mom knew i liked Robocop because I liked the game and I liked the cartoon and I liked the toys-but I'd never seen the actual movie. So one time when I was home from school sick myself, she decided to rent the movie and watch it with me. Hoo boy! I can still see the look on her face
This Was My 1st Ever Game, I Remember It Like It Was Yesterday! I’m 36 Now, Somehow This Just Makes Me Appreciate Still Being Alive Here On The South Side Of Chicago!!! 🙏🏾
Ah that classic theme tune. Let's all sing together: he is a robot, he is a cop. He is a RoboCop. They shot his head in, then he was deadin. Now he's a RoboCop.
Ah memories. I was 6 when this came out and I can remember pretty much giving up on it cos it was so hard and then one day somehow managing to get to the end and finishing it in one. That was a good day lol
@Pedro Hose I always had trouble defeating the boss at 7:14 where every time I would shoot my gun as Robocop, I would lose energy and die because every time I punched or shoot, the mayor would say "Oh No" where I guess with me losing energy was a way to show that the mayor was on my side. It took me maybe one or two years to know what to do until someone showed explaining whenever the mayor ducks down that I should shoot my gun which would cause the bad guy with the gun to come close and then I should shoot or punch him and then he will die.
peter krug I'm not just talking about NES games, even cartoon shows and toys based of R-rated movies came out around this time. RoboCop, Rambo, Terminator, Ghostbusters, Police Academy, the list can go on forever.
i remember i bought this game for $15 new i think it was, from game stop (back then called Funcoland). was so disappointed the graphics didnt look like Robo and the punch animation just looked so weird. But i kept it because the cover photo was so cool. Good memories.
I enjoyed both versions of Robocop Nes and Arcade despite being 2 different games. Back in the Nes library of games, Robocop was a movie licensed game done right.
I find it hard to believe that people find this game hard. It's like a super easy rush n' attack. I rented this from blockbuster when I was 7, beat it the first night I had it. Also, I think people are being a little hard on this game. The music does suck, I'll give you that. But the game has multiple scenes from the film, and they're not done half bad. I especially like saving the mayor. On top of that, robotcop actuallys does the spin to holster the gun. There are far worse movie liscensed games out there, and while it is no batman or willow, it's not the garbage people are saying it is.
I remember playing this game when it barely came out. I found it very useful to use the shield when attacked from many enemies. Forgot what button's to use. But anyway, the shield method was very effective.
thanks to youtube I can finally see what happens at the end of video games I had when I was a child back then they were so freaking hard I hardly ever could finish one so checked this one out oh and the ninja turtles one why the fuck were they so hard back then
I remember getting passed the 2nd level at least twice. I remember it taking a while for me to figure out what "T" was since I didn't have a manual. "Why is my T going down?!?!?" I was 5-7 years old. Gimme a break, nintendo.
Wow, I didn't know I was at the final boss as a kid. I was never able to beat it. Looking at this gameplay made it seem so easy. I don't know how I couldn't beat it.
The game is not -that- hard, you just don't resort to the right tactics. The machine gun should be used against the giant flame-throwers, it's also faster against the 3 dwarves, and the cobra gun ammos should be saved for the last fight to kill ED-209 very quickly (the first fight is also very simple, you can push against ED and shoot, just be sure to move before it punches or shoots back).
I remember that game, playing as the badass mighty Robocop, wrecking through an entire city... then trying to get that box on the ground... yeah... get it... FUCK.... GET DOWN.... , and die from lack of energy. Good times
how do you refill your energy in the last level in the middle of it? 6th level is the only one that i cant bea because of the time limit. It ends in the final battle no matter what i do and how i play((
Bought this for a bargain on Ebay as well as an untested NES, which worked thankfully. I must say, this is not a bad game at all. It's a bad Robocop game, but not a bad game.
You obviously haven't played many Robocop games. Lucky you. This isn't a bad Robocop game. You've got Robocop vs. Terminator, then this one. The rest are borderline unplayable, and retarded.
The 16-bit version was always a shell of its arcade counterpart, but arcade gaming in my younger days came at a premium so I always appreciated the effort and liked having it as an alternative.
7:14 when i was a kid (5-6 yo) i could never beat this screen. I thought they were 2 enemies xD funny to see it was a hostage and for that reason i could never go beyond that point :P
You CAN beat this game without the extra lives. Getting the COBRA gun in the later levels is key though. Using it will save you valuable “T” which is really time. (Even though the manual calls it the technical battery, think of it as time).
Nice gameplay, but the player could have avoided lots of trouble and time waste (specially at the ED-209 fights and 3rd stage boss) if he had used the extra weapons. The cannon is particularly good against the first ED-209.
Not ashamed to admit that I needed Game Genie to beat this game. It was HARD lol. As a kid, I couldn't get past the first boss. I was like "Why the hell is he just absorbing my bullets?! Nobody does that to Robocop in the movie!" lol BTW I hated shooting the dogs. Poor little pups :(
Puedes usar GameGenie para que nunca se te acabe el tiempo si tienes un emulador de NES (Nintendo), o puedes a buscar una batería que en unos niveles es difícil a para encontrarlos, pero se sube un poquito el tiempo.
This is getting funny. I could swear I've watched this one here a time ago. As for the game, the ONLY song that plays on all stages is rather catchy, perhaps for the 8-bit-ness chiptuny nature, perhaps because Murphy walks like he's following the beat. But the main lesson learned here is that you SHOULD charge a 7ft cyborg and deliver punches and flying kicks. Also, dogs.

***** Still don't know why she didn't check the bloody rating on the VHS box. But such was the 80's.
Daniel Ryan Imagine if you completed it in under 30mins
***** I actually never did beat it. Got stuck on the second stage. Hey! I never claimed was a GOOD at it!
Daniel Ryan That's a wonderful story, lol.

Saw this game in a pawn shop...I bought it for a dollar!
nothing more tho?
Haha,I loved that catch phrase in the movie.
Damn here its a bit expenshive
I'd buy that for a dollar
Hahaha
This brings back soo many childhood memories.
I remember playing this game for hours, when I was 8 years old.
ADI Domi
"go to vizzed to play this again."
Thanks.
Ah that classic theme tune. Let's all sing together: he is a robot, he is a cop. He is a RoboCop. They shot his head in, then he was deadin. Now he's a RoboCop.
Curse you. Now I can't stop.
Awesome! All at the right tunes!
So much nostalgia, never finished this game it was impossible back then.
I swear
even this longplay he used cheats to pass
AT LAST ! I FOUND THIS GAME ! I GOT STUCK ON THAT STUPID WALL WHEN I WAS A KID ! I AM STILL MAD AT THIS GAME !
We used to get stuck on the level where the president is held hostage lol we just used to get in and have a shoot out killing the hostage
Hahaha I feel ya, I was stuck in the same place!!
Ah memories. I was 6 when this came out and I can remember pretty much giving up on it cos it was so hard and then one day somehow managing to get to the end and finishing it in one. That was a good day lol
The hitting the dog brought back memories. Perfect.
As a kid playing this game i could not get past the third stage to save my life.
I was stuck at the machine with the spikes 😅 was never able to get past it. After a while I got fed up and just gave up.
I actually enjoy this game
Clonekiller66 Same here. It is difficult but rewarding if you are able to complete it.
It could be worse though. It's nowhere near as good as the arcade original, but at least it's playable.
Lol at the first boss fight. 50 rapid... To the jaw.
"He is a Robert, he is a Cop. He is a Robert Cop...."
The Furniture of Law Enforcement
Brings back so many great memories. I developed my hand eye coordination with games like this. :)
My childhood game! I love this game and miss it so much!
I used to play this everyday after school I miss them NES days
one of my favorite games to rent back in the earlier 90s
miss my childhood memories
Weight, 250 pounds, lol. I think he's a little heavier than that!
Yeah, maybe 250 kg. No way 250 lb.
Well, the only parts of Murphy that were intact was his face and a few other bits. They hacked him up and attached it to the robot parts.
Of course we have a smart one.. 😂
@@Metalman200xdamnit That's the point. 6'2 of metal should weigh more than 250 lbs.
@@Jayce_Alexander True. Even if they used stuff like aircraft grade aluminium and titanium,Robocop would be pretty hefty.
Damn I got so close as a kid I made it to the conveyor part more than once...I was right there.
Ah yes, the time when you could take an R-rated movie and make it suitable for kids.
+nils920 Yeah. I remember they also made NES games of "Friday The 13th" and "A Nightmare On Elm Street" as well.
peter krug I'm not just talking about NES games, even cartoon shows and toys based of R-rated movies came out around this time. RoboCop, Rambo, Terminator, Ghostbusters, Police Academy, the list can go on forever.
+nils920 Ghostbusters is not R-rated, dude.
TerminatorSpongeBobDoctorWhoFan2003 AUTTP POE It still had adult jokes in it.
@@petercharleskrug Don't forget Dirty Harry.
Awsome gameplay, awsome music, awsome game! Maybe one of the best ever made
Arrest Mode: Gun blazing
This game was prophetic.
Classic game. Great longplay without using the machine gun nor the Cobra gun (assault cannon).
The title screen music really captures the Robocop essence
Dead or alive, you're coming with Officer Adam ❤
i remember i bought this game for $15 new i think it was, from game stop (back then called Funcoland). was so disappointed the graphics didnt look like Robo and the punch animation just looked so weird. But i kept it because the cover photo was so cool. Good memories.
Best ED-209 of the series, IMO
nostalgia... I'm getting old

im playing this game, and loving this video for the help, thanks its keeping it fun where usually i get lost or confused and frustrated
Awesome game and soundtrack, love the boss fights.
Loved how the purple vest people used to die with a salute to robocop
Used to have this game back in the day. Loved it. Beat the hell out of it with game genie when things got too rough, lol
The factory scene"come quietly or there will be trouble"
"Ah......f#*+ you
Anthony Williams Classic line in the movie. Not that remake mess.
Opening theme is from the news broadcast in the movie
MEDIA BREAK.
GIVE US A MINUTE AND WE'LL GIVE YOU THE WORLD!!!!!
Yes B playing this video game right now
Data East was a great company
I'll maybe try to remake this game and including comic book cutscenes and make Clarence Boddicker as a playable character!
would love to see that,i used to love this game back in the day.
Did you ever remake it?

I don't really have the time due to study.

i doubt many say that it is bad. from the nes era
WHEN THE DOGS DIE, THEY SOUND LIKE SQUELCHY FARTS.
The release date on this game was December 1989, despite an in-game copyright date of 1988 on the back of box.
Remember this game being really difficult as a youngster.
I remember playing this game when it barely came out. I found it very useful to use the shield when attacked from many enemies. Forgot what button's to use. But anyway, the shield method was very effective.
Duck and select or up and select, or something like that.
It’s simply the select button

Christmas 87 or 88 I think I got this as a present. Played the mess out of this game too.
oh, i remenber my childhood thanks for updown
This seems strangely upbeat for beating the piss out of criminals.
This game is awesome, best Robocop game on the nes 👌
Which was a shame. Robocop 2 and 3 on NES were absolute pieces of shit.
28:04 - what a cut scene looked like in 1988 😁
The ending: Is Robocop gonna celebrate at the f**king carnival tonight?!
Gran leyenda y juegazo increíble

Thank you for your cooperation.
how did you recover "Time" at 24:58? Are there any item to recover time?
He got an extra life at the shot trainning stage.
Yes. The battery with the lightning bolt.
This game looks like the NES TMNT game, but with a Robocop sprite replacing the Ninja Turtles!!
