    Those 2 saws buzzing next to each other has to be one of the coolest sounds ever. That would be an awesome ring tone but there would be a lot of missed calls because you wouldn't want to answer it.

    I had a 710 for several years. But Husky came out with AV and I had to switch. I miss the ole girl but I do not miss my hands being numb after a day of running her. Watching you gives the yearning to go back in time!

    Love to hear those yellow machines running. Back in the early '60s go cart racing was big around Ohio. They were crud carts when compared to what is out there today but we were just as serious with what we had. There were two engine classes topping out at 5.8 and 7.1 cu. in. and single and double engine classes. McCulloch was pretty much king of the hill. Those with the pocket book and the knowledge would do some porting work, timing work and have as many as three, yes three carbs on an engine. Two on a split intake manifold and another one attached at the intake port. Crazy RPMs were achieved along with a lot of wins at the track. The sound of ten or more modified chainsaw engines all racing together was a sweet sound.

    Evening B.r,it’s always a treat to see the old hot rods in wood. I bought my wife her first saw today from a buddy of mine. Early 80s stihl 011avt. Gave $20 for it. She likes helping me with wood so I figured I’d get her a little saw and she can help limb.

    Billy,
    Good day to ya ! I have a 700 and a ported 10 10. My 10 10 is a little higher revving than my 700, but I lost a little low end when I raised the exhaust port. They cut equal now.

    Wow so cool. I used to cut fire wood with my dad when I was a boy, he had a pro Mac 10-10 and I bought him a pm610 for Father’s Day back when I was 14. I love macs above all others even the latest greatest plastic saws from Europe. I’m starting a collection of old macs. I also just restored my late grandfathers homie xl12(kind of a slow saw) I got the 610, and getting a 10-10 for Xmas! So excited to do a like new restoration on it. You got a really nice collection! Cheers from surrey B.C.

    My 7-10 has the decomp on the back of the cylinder. It is stock and will out cut my 10-10 so good job to Jeremy on his port work. I believe the 7-10 is 72cc's. Great video.

    • @obxkoastie8170
      @obxkoastie8170 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jim According to the vintage chainsaw authority, Mike Acre, your 7-10 is 70.5 cc and was only manufactured from Sept. 1970 to Sept. 1971. In today's world of chainsaws all else being equal there is no way to overcome 16cc of displacement. It's almost as if the 10-10 has a big bore kit with extensive porting and muffler mods; but I know that isn't the case. I just don't understand it.

    • @benjia.outlawedchainsaws9165
      @benjia.outlawedchainsaws9165 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 10-10 turns more rpms, when porting a saw you can make the power come in on top end or on bottom end, the 10-10 was turning harder than the 7-10 but I did notice that the 7-10 did not bog as bad due to the bigger displacement but from what I have seen with the Macs is the 10-10 is one that porting seems to make the most difference in!

Since mine has the single adjustment Walbro i have no holes in my top cover to be able to adj the jets if i change to a diff carb ,unless i drill holes in it to be able to adjust it, if i change to a diff carb.I know they used 3 diff brands of carbs on the 7-10 i believe

    Whenever you decide to do a tuning video may I make a suggestion please. Just use 1 camera that day because each camera sounds a little different and the slight differences maybe easier to hear if only 1 camera is used throughout? Thanks for the great video!

    I’ve got 40 Macs, 4 or 5 are parts saws, got my dads 57, 35 gear drive, and 4 more that all run, got the other ones for the chains, just can’t find 1/2 inch pitch any more. I have a double eagle 80 and a couple super 80s, a brand new 610, and a couple of 650s, a timber wolf and several 10-10s, I love my big old girls.I’ve got a jonsered 930 super, that was overhauled twice, but can’t find parts for it anymore. I’ve had a couple of stihls, but the 930 is the only one that would out cut my macs. I’ve got a echo 900 evil, its just simply a monster saw with a 32 inch bar, only use it on big stuff, and not very often!

    It's crazy I was given a 10-10 today and then not long after this video posts!? I guess that's a sign, I have to restore it now...

    You scared me handing those saws back and fourth with the long bars...working too close together too...but, one damn thing is for sure...you got doses bitches hittin right on the high end and the low end...that's for sure. I'm gonna get mine back out since those sound so sweet and play with'em a bit. I've got four 7-10's, a Pro Mac 800, Pro Mac 50, and some other smaller ones...Oh and a 1966 Homelite 800 wit electronic ignition that is original to the saw and is OEM...They were about 15 years ahead of their time, something from the future way back in 1966...been using the Stihl 032's cause they are not so loud and mid-weight, but, I'm gettin the fever listening to those old McCulloch saws...even got one Stihl 084 I just tuned with a tach today. It's a figgin beast. I collected these saws about 10-15 years ago as a hobby. That stereo sound was awesome!
