We go every year to Disneyland for a full week, 5 park hopper days and over the past 2 decades going with our 4 kids we still find something new each time! Disneyland/DCA has 52 rides vs Disney World's all 4 parks has 53 so even though the square footage is different, the number of rides aren't far off. ❤ I'm glad you guys enjoyed Disneyland!
I really enjoyed watching your family experience Disneyland for the first time. It will always have my heart. I love both-grew up in Northern California and went a couple of times as a kid which were core memories for me. I used to take road trips there in college and it was amazing. Then I did the Disney college program and fell in love with WDW and the whole world it offers…but if I had to choose it would be Disneyland every day. I have so many memories there with my mom who passed in 2018, and with my son who passed last year. 💔 It will just always be a bittersweet nostalgic place. I highly recommend going to DL at Christmas time, it’s so magical and you get the Christmas fireworks included with your normal park ticket without having to go to a party. But if Riley wants to experience haunted mansion the regular version you’d have to go another time of year since Christmas time is the nightmare before Christmas overlay. Anyway thank you for sharing and I always love your videos. 🩷
So glad you and your family had such a wonderful time at Disneyland. It is the only park Walt ever walked in. So those feels were real. I was in tears at the end of the tour realizing what an incredible man he truly was. I understand Haunted Mansion was closed for refurbishment but be aware they also close for a month and it can change but they do convert to Nightmare Before Christmas during the Halloween season. It is amazing!! So I hope it is open the next time you go. God Bless!
Blair, you said it so eloquently. Truly like comparing apples and oranges. I agree that if you have not done Disneyland it's a must. I love how everything is snuggled together. Happy to see your faamily enjoying a new place. I'm headed back for my second trip to Disneyland in July. Can't deny Disney World is a beautiful Disney bubble that is magical. Congratulations on 75k.😊
We go to WDW once a year and bring our grandson. When he was between 3 and 6 he never wanted to go into the parks. He was a "transportation" guy. If you asked him about his favorite rides, he would say the monorail, boats, skyliner gondolas, and buses. WDW transportation was his Disney dream. LOL
Your videos have made me SO excited for our first ever Disneyland trip next year! After going to Disney World many times over the years, we can’t wait to see Disneyland! Thanks for all the fun, helpful videos! ❤️💫
Disneyland and WDW have almost the exact same number of rides. Some WDW parks def have more attractions, but if we are talking rides DL actually has a few more than WDW. Its so crazy when you realize just how much Disneyland has to utilize every square inch of that park.
After watching your Disneyland vlogs, I thought that would be the perfect fit for my family. My daughter will be 8 this week, and I think if we were to visit any park in the next couple of years, it'd be Disneyland. I like the smaller, cozier feel, and I could definitely see my family enjoying all of the attractions. And Happy Mother's Day, Blair! ❤
Thank you so much for this review 😃 we have been to WDW a few times and I went to Disneyland 30 plus years ago and can’t honestly remember much about it. We are planning a trip to California (from the UK) in 2026 and everything you have said about Disneyland is so reassuring. Mostly that 4 days is enough as we want to do other things in California but I wanted to ensure we didn’t miss anything at Disneyland by just getting tickets for 3-4 days😃 thank you so much again 🥰 will be looking forward to hearing about your future Disney trip - just love them 😃🥰xx
As a WDW AP FL girly my whole life, Disneyland was a dream come true. Honestly a bucket list item since I was a kid. LOVED DLR and so eager to be back again! Park hopping is so nice there and worth the money to do! 100% agree it’s a perfect 3-4 day trip, you can hit everything with no issues! Loved watching all the vlogs + agreed on so many points! Cars Land is MAGICAL and I can compare DLR space mountain to the one in Paris!
Love both parks! I will say I usually choose Disneyland if I want a Disney experience between April and October because the summer weather is so much more mild and even chilly in at night. I can’t hang in the Orlando summer 😅
I live in Northern California & would always fly into John Wayne..but, this year we flew into Long Beach, I would recommend this airport 100%! Smaller airport & loved it! Try to avoid LAX if you can!
Disneyland is expanding. The third park has been approved (i think?) and will surround Disneyland Hotel. For those desperate for a water park, Great Wolf Lodge is down the street, but generally the weather in California is rarely so oppressive that you desperately need to go swimming.
Glad your trip was awesome! Disneyland has been on my radar since another youtube family the Apples have been vlogging it. We have done WDW trips and a Disney Cruise. We must get to Disneyland! Thanks for sharing ❤
Fantastic job comparing the two experiences, Blair! Both have so much to love, for different reasons! Isn’t Indiana Jones incredible?! I spent my 40th birthday at Disneyland/DCA and had truly the most magical day!!
Hi Blair! Loved this video idea👍 Never been to DL but would like to someday. What are your best tips and tricks to save enough for frequent trips, especially in deluxe accommodations? Maybe a video on that topic in the future😊 Got my Rapunzel shirt...so stinking cute!😊👍💐🏰
Dear Mrs. Lamb. Great video, as always. My oldest daughter and I went to Disneyland when she was about 20. Indiana Jones ride was new. We rode, It was great. On our way out we noticed only a few people taking the long walk back to ride. There was only a rope to separate those going to ride and those exiting. We just went under the rope and joined the very small line to ride again. Rode an additional 3 or 4 times. Finally left the ride and discovered a really, really long line being held back by cast members letting people trickle in a few at a time. We were so amazed. Felt guilty about riding so many times. It was fun. Thanks again. Can't remember, does Disneyland have Peter Pan ride and/or Alice in Wonderland ride? If so, did you ride them? Be well and happy.
Hello Blair, I am traveling for the first time to Disney World for my honey moon. Me and my future husband are so excited and we are foodies. I follow your TH-cam channel but wanted to find out if you had suggestions on food restaurants while we are there. We have booked Be Our Guest but nothing else just yet. I also wanted to ask on one of your videos you did a dessert party with a vip seating for a show and we wondered what that was called as we are interested in that as well. I know you probably get a lot of messages so if you see mine and have any suggestions that would be great. You are amazing and I love your channel.
I think Disney world’s haunted mansion is a bit better (Disneyland doesn’t have the escher upside down staircase but the positioning of the hatbox ghost in Disneyland is better). Disneyland’s Nightmare Before Christmas holiday overlay is sooo good, plus Small World also has a holiday overlay and plays Christmas music. They keep it up through the end of the first week in January! Oh and DCA goes all out on the holiday decorations, cars land is so cute!
This is so informative! I used to work for DCL reservations and I am currently trying to go back to Disney this time for parks/resort reservations (currently in the interview process 😊) - and all your Disney videos are soooo super helpful!! By far my favorite TH-camr! #beenheresincerooted
We are visiting family in San Diego and taking our two year old(he is birthday twins with Colin) for a day. What was Colin’s favorite things? Thanks for sharing!
Mostly agree. I will say Disneyland food is pretty good no matter where you go and what you get. We had to do soooo much more research to find the good food at disneyworld. But everything we had researched was great! Anything we got on the fly was…. Not haha
Very fair. We’ve been enough in WDW that we know where to eat and where to avoid, but I agree that choosing a random place would likely go better in DL than DW. 💯
Ok! But what about the churros? Lol Which has better churros? Like the plain sugar cinnamon ones. I always hear people comparing them and they say that Disneyland has better ones. Happy Mother’s Day Blair 😊

I’m getting to go to Disneyland for the first time in July and I’m nervous and excited. I’m a huge WDW fan.

We have heard from so many folks that Christmastime in DLR is something special. What a fun trip that would be! 😍🎄

Thank you so much, Donna! And thank you for your BLD order--I just packaged it a moment ago!

I would recommend riding the monorail at least once, it’s nothing like DW monorail and is a fun experience…leave stroller at hotel for a bit
Ok! Next time for sure 😍
Taking transport this was really helpful! Thanks
Blair!! Congrats on 75k! YOU DID IT!!! 🎉🎉
Yay! Thank you so so much!
Your videos have made me SO excited for our first ever Disneyland trip next year! After going to Disney World many times over the years, we can’t wait to see Disneyland! Thanks for all the fun, helpful videos! ❤️💫
Ive never been to either but theyre both on my list of must visits. 😊

I agree that DL utilizes the space beautifully, but WDW definitely has more. 173 at WDW vs. 49 at DL!

i do wish disneyland had more affordable on property options but I’m hoping to go around christmas!
Love both parks! I will say I usually choose Disneyland if I want a Disney experience between April and October because the summer weather is so much more mild and even chilly in at night. I can’t hang in the Orlando summer 😅
Your reasoning makes so much sense. I also cannot hang in Orlando in the summer, phew 🥵🔥

I have heard Long Beach is super nice. We'll have to try it some time! Thank you, Susan!
I NEEDED this video! We are sooo torn on which to do this year. We always do Disney World but want to branch out!
Highly encourage you to branch out and try Disneyland. It’s a really special place! 🏰✨💕
Disneyland is expanding. The third park has been approved (i think?) and will surround Disneyland Hotel. For those desperate for a water park, Great Wolf Lodge is down the street, but generally the weather in California is rarely so oppressive that you desperately need to go swimming.
We are looking forward to the expansion. 🎉
DLR all prices a lot higher then WDW and smaller and more condensed which has its pros and cons.
Glad your trip was awesome! Disneyland has been on my radar since another youtube family the Apples have been vlogging it. We have done WDW trips and a Disney Cruise. We must get to Disneyland! Thanks for sharing ❤
Totally! Thank you for watching and commenting. ❤

I was so sad when I went to my one trip to DL pirates was closed!

Very interesting! I really want to ride HM in DL to compare. Someday soon hopefully!!!
For Some reason Disneyland always seemed to advertise on west coast stations and on the east coast stations walt disney world?
This is so informative! I used to work for DCL reservations and I am currently trying to go back to Disney this time for parks/resort reservations (currently in the interview process 😊) - and all your Disney videos are soooo super helpful!!

All the best luck to you!!! We have only had the BEST experiences with reservations; I know you’ll be incredible! 🥰✨

Trucks, balls, and bubble wands!!
Does Standby Skipper work in Disney Land?!
No it does not at this time, sadly! Maybe soon!
I hope that 'this is not my circus and these are not my monkeys' is going onto one of your t-shirt designs in the near future ;)
HAHA honestly

Disneyland for sure. Night and day!
I think I am the only one who doesn't actually think MCO is that bad. haha!
Yes! 🤣 I'm just kidding. Sometimes it's smooth sailing at MCO but when it's bad, it's really bad (in our experience).
Pandora is coming to DL!
I didn’t know that! Hooray! 🎉
So if you had to choose, which park is your favorite?
I think it would depend on the time of year, length of trip, who's in my travel party, etc. We will surely incorporate both moving forward!
Blessed 💐Mother’s Day…M♥️M of 5
And Happy Mother’s Day to you! 💓
