+Legendary Custer i ordered it from guitarcenter.com...there is a dealer list on the godin website, if you are in the usa/canada, you should check out Godin's recommended sources
I have owned an LGXSA in blue for about a year now and I can't fault it, I've had Strats, Gibsons and a Rivky too, but this beats them all. I will never need to buy another guitar as long as I live
I don't own this particular model, but I do own a Godin. I have to say these are great guitars for the price. The company grows their own wood and the sound and value-for-dollar are hard to beat. This model with it's acoustic-electric combination easily rivals the Turner Model 1 at a third of the price.
I have two Godin xtSA guitars. Beautifully constructed and real quality guitars. Far better than any Gibsons or Fenders I've owned. The Swiss Army knife of guitars.
Hey Wayne, great review. However you omitted to mention a very important piece of information which Godin don't seem keen to share with the general public. That very important piece of information is that the xtSA, LGX-SA and LGXT Synth Access guitars from Godin need a unit referred to as the RMC OPT-1 Tracking Optimiser to be installed in the Roland GR-55 for the GR-55 to be fully compatible with the Godin guitars mentioned above. I read this in a review and contacted Godin directly myself to be sure since this very important piece of information is not mentioned anywhere on their website, and they confirmed to me in an email that you do need to install the RMC OPT-1 Tracking Optimiser in the GR-55 for it to be fully compatible with the xtSA, LGX-SA and LGXT guitars. This RMC OPT-1 Tracking Optimiser is a third party unit and must be purchased separately.
@@WayneJoness I am looking for this to write into my Finale software for notation 1st playing out 2nd. Is this the best one for that? Compared to a nylon Godin SA which is your pick? Also, I can never get hold of Godin and dealers in PA don't know much about what I ask. Where can I get the RMC-OPT-1 unit as I want to have it if needed. I used to have the Roland GR-30 and sold it and am excited about the newer version. Any advice you can share? Please reply here and email me at briwacatgmaildotcom briwac@gmail.com. Thank you so much for your video was very helpful. I hope to order my Godin guitar in late April. No one has this model around Pittsburgh for me to play so I am taking a risk ordering. Brian
Do you have to plug the 13 pin and 1/4 inch cable at the same time to use the midi sounds and synth sounds combined? On my gk-3 it gets combined through the 13 pin cable but I'm not sure about how this is wired?
I have been godin guitars for many years (Godin Multiac Jazz, Godin Nylon Grand Concert) not only for my CDs but also for many other cautions in music. But unfortunately I am encountering many problems with the midi setting with the new roland guitar synthesizers like the GR 55 and the Boss SY 1000. Not only tracking problems but also electronic noises. I also have an old Roland GR 30 and it works perfectly. Do you have any advice for me to solve these problems? Are there any particular settings or devices ?have followed the instructions in the Roland manuals. But with little results. For example I have other guitars with the Roland GK 3 Pick Up and they work perfectly … Thank you for your attention . Fabio Pianigiani
The neck is perfection. Acoustic sounds are desirable. A very versitle workhorse. Seldom you find a guitar that is so well constructed. Against the core PRS the Godin pulls past it like a top fuel dragster racing against a moped.
In the future, the same thing that happened to Les Poul, will happen to Godin. People will be thinking," Why didn"t I buy one of those great guitars, when they were affordable" ? Why are we guitarist so conservative, why not use the new instruments, to make new music, there"s no more tones left in the 3 classic,Tele Strat and Les,that we haven"t heard. Hendrix and Knopler on the Strat. Buchanan and Gatton on the Tele.. And Les, Eric,Billy, and a certain Slash, have turned the inside out,on the fine Les Poul.
I bought this guitar accoustic output on a neutral clean fender deville amp - magnetic picups through my rocktron prophecy into my power amp and cabinets with 4 celestions 13 pins output into my GP 10 and linked through to my GR 55 those straight in the PA I can tell you man- the sound i got was FABULOUS
I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on the Godin/RMC tracking capabilities with the GR55 compared to the older synths like GR33 and GR20. Have you had any of these challenges with the GR55?
I have both this LGX-SA and the tremolo equipped LGXT. Great guitars. Nicer guitars overall than my Gibson Les Paul Std. IMHO. I just keep the Gibson for credibility purposes, but have played the Godins more. C’est la vie’!
@@WayneJoness the neck is really a great one for me too, especially on the ebony fingerboard LGXT. The LGX-SA that I have seems more like Rosewood, and just slightly more chunky, but still comfortable and easy to play.
Finally! A proper review of this beauty. Thank you. Ive had this guitar for over a year now, and I simply cannot complain.
Hey man, I'm think of buying this, is there anyway I could order this off the godin site?

Hello..can you tell me what weight does this guitar
The narrator is *exactly* right about the neck, it feels amazing. And its sound is ridiculously versatile.
RIGHT
does the guitar weigh a lot?

I would of liked to see more of the midi triggering especially with the gr55 piano sounds

I did not use the RMC OPT-1 when I made this video. Depending on your playing style, you may find the RMC OPT-1 essential, but it is not required.

I have the whammy version of this, a 1999 Godin LGXT, plus this LGX-SA. The LGXT is also an amazing instrument.
I got lgx sa used, could I add the whammy to it? Also do I need a special chip for gr55?

The guitar signal is sent in the 13-pin cable. So you can mix the normal guitar signal with any of the synth sounds generated by the attached synth,

not same as LGXT or XTSA ? or ? Whats Godin with all the letter combos MOst confusing.
The T stands for tremolo, and SA for synth access. Not sure if that helps? I’ve got an LGX-SA, amazing guitar.
any sound demos' with the piezo and nylong strings ? Or cannot ?
The guitar was setup for steel strings. The magnetic pickups would not work with nylon strings.
Can both electric (humbuckers) and acoustic be played with just one lead plugged in?
Yes.
WayneJoness Great. Cheers mate.
just 5 days from own one!! will use it woth gr-55/yellow pedal 10; are there any ghost tones (from gr55) lke on the koa? if so, how to minimize it?
Hello! what are the two metal switches (near the bottom) for?
On switch is the GK S1/S2 switch, for changing patches, etc. The other switch is the gtr/gtr+syn/syn selector switch.
Wayne, What is the average retail price for this? I was hoping to stay between $1,200 & $1,400 is that possible?

100%!
Had mine 3 days, money well spent. I've got a few decent Guitars this is No 1

I believe it’s a Richlite fretboard since 2011 not ebony. That’s why the “grain” looks so tight 😆.
Wow...very interesting.
I will NEVER sell mine, 15 year owner and still in love!!!
Yep! I am with you on that! I would never part with my LGX-SA.
nice vid and review thank you

Godin really hit the nail on the head, I love the feel of the neck.
