SO glad you mentioned the Norse myth about Sif! Fun fact, that myth is how Loki met the dwarves that would eventually craft Thor's hammer Mjolnir. Just before they spun her hair of gold, Loki witnessed them forging a spear and an impressive boat. While they worked, Loki used his gift of charm to win over the dwarves. He charmed them into gifting him the spear Gungnir and boat Skidbladnir.
As far as how the TVA managed to deal with all the nexus events, you have to remember that the TVA is seemingly outside of time but when you're on the timeline then time is passing at a normal rate. So while Loki and Sylvie were on Lamentis having their little adventure there's really no telling exactly how much time passed for the people working at the TVA. Clearly it wasn't a CRAZY amount of time but you've gotta figure that they sent all of their teams out to handle the nexus events which was Sylvie's plan to begin with so she could get to the Time Keepers. This is why there were so few agents currently in the TVA and why Ravonna had to take matters into her own hands to try and catch the intruders.

And if you needed further proof that what they feel for each other is real they almost literally broke the universe with their love. And I love that they brought back Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif, I hope she gets a lot more screen time in Thor 4 because she is an incredibly underrated actress. Also the Loki’s are credited as Boastful Loki, Kid Loki, Reptile Loki and Richard E. I liked the Agents of Shield Episodes where they brought her back. Underrated show that deserves a place in the MCU even if Disney want to ignore it now.

Maybe it's just the things I've been going through in my personal life, but this episode really got me thinking that this show is a lot about trauma and how found families can help one overcome their past and move to a new future and find acceptance in themselves. I found it an especially profound moment when Sylvie asked Ravonna why they took her and she simply responded that she didn't remember and how crushing but also freeing that can be - sometimes the smallest actions of others can cause profound trauma to us that can take nearly a lifetime to move past, yet for them it was such a small action that they've forgotten it ever happened. Really love where this series is going so far!
For the way Loki was staring at her during song, I knew that he was in love with Sylvie. She is not a version of him, in the same way he is not a version of the original Loki. They are both to people lost in time and space, with nowhere left to go and no one to ask for help, who never had a real connection in their lives, and this is the kind of love story I can get behind. I think that people that get pruned are actually sent to some kind of pocket dimension, which gives me hope that Mobius is somehow alive. Sylvie becoming a variant was the fact that she was inherently good, which is something Loki’s aren’t meant to be. She was fighting with Valkyrie toys, and playing defending Asgard. She probably veered off her destined path as the goddess of mischief and wanted to join the Valkyrie, and become an actual hero. Her good nature can also be seen when she’s taken to the TVA and the minute men are being aggressive with other variants and she protests

I'm curious to know what you both think about the following: so many people are saying it's weird that Loki "likes himself"...but to me, Ep 3 solidified that Sylvie is not Loki- she's Sylvie. She started out as the "Loki" of her timeline, meaning royalty in Asguard (though we don't really know who her parents were), though now, after not growing up in Asguard, after having a whole different life, she says she is Sylvie. And obviously that crocodile with horns wouldn't be considered the same "Loki" as our Loki, even if it had the same spirit. So, to me, it's not strange that Loki is attracted to Sylvie, because they aren't the same person- not the same carbon copy- they are two different people who have the same essential spirit- which I feel like we humans mostly call soul-mates. I dunno, I think the idea that it is "Loki falling in love with himself because one Loki is the same as the other, they are just copies and one can be got rid of as a mistake" is a very TVA propaganda position. I've got to say--if Loki actually loves Sylvie (and I think he does) that seems to me extremely healthy. At the end he's not competing with her, but being purely supportive, which is not what a pure narcissist does. A pure narcissist sees even a different version of himself as competition, nothing else. That isn't how they react to each other not anymore.

Great reaction guys. Just wanted to say I've seen a lot of people wondering why she was arrested by the TVA as a child, but she tells Loki on Lamentis while they are sitting there this episode. She tells him that its because she "was born the godDESS of mischief and when that detoured far enough from the sacred timeline" they came and got her. Just wanted to throw that out there because i only caught it on the rewatch because it's pretty subtly delivered even though she does put an emphasis on her inflection in the "DESS" part of goddess.

Well, we have Lady Loki on TVA and in a post-apocalyptic city we have Loki, Boastful Loki, Classic Loki, Kid Loki, and Alligator Loki. but where is the president Loki that we have seen in the trailers? P. S. I was delighted that Lady Sif appeared. Curiously, in the comics, Loki uses the body of Lady Sif to become. reincarnate in Lady Loky, but, I think this happens in the same timeline as Loki; so, the presence of a Loki girl may indicate the existence of other parallel universes with their own timelines.

I'm curious to know what you both think about the following: so many people are saying it's weird that Loki "likes himself"...but to me, Ep 3 solidified that Sylvie is not Loki- she's Sylvie. She started out as the "Loki" of her timeline, meaning royalty in Asguard (though we don't really know who her parents were), though now, after not growing up in Asguard, after having a whole different life, she says she is Sylvie. And obviously that crocodile with horns wouldn't be considered the same "Loki" as our Loki, even if it had the same spirit. So, to me, it's not strange that Loki is attracted to Sylvie, because they aren't the same person- not the same carbon copy- they are two different people who have the same essential spirit- which I feel like we humans mostly call soul-mates. I dunno, I think the idea that it is "Loki falling in love with himself because one Loki is the same as the other, they are just copies and one can be got rid of as a mistake" is a very TVA propaganda position. I dunno...I hear at the end it seems like you both are on a different page than me, but that is what I think. That recognizing Sylvie as a separate, unique human being is...is what's real. And not the propaganda.

Exactly! Exactly what I was thinking. Tom Hiddleston have an interview where he said he thought that while, for instance, WandaVision was at its core about grief, this show was really about identity. Which I really love, and this is such an interesting format through which to explore that. Like- hey, this fascist bureaucracy says these are all copies of you, but the “copies” come to find out- no, we are who we are. No matter how you view us.
@@amandadougherty6615 Plus, Loki keep being told that he's destined to lose always. Which makes him reconsider his choice and life, then you have Sylvie who refuses to believe in predestination and fights the TVA. It's so fitting thematically that Loki falls in love with her.
I think the reason Sylvie was on the TVA's radar was because she was a good person as oppose to the Loki we know who actually caused mischief. Yes? No?

Her nexus event was simply that she wanted to be a hero. That game she was playing is where her branch was created. The sacred timeline required a villain to make everyone better, like mobius tells him in the first episode.

All jokes about Loki's narcissism alike, it's pretty clear from everything he's done that he hates himself. As far as he believes he's unlovable, and all the good in his life was a lie... so in this weird roundabout way through Sylvie he's learning to love himself?
It's like when people say "if you could only see you like I see you" to a loved one who's down on themselves. It takes an outside perspective for both Loki and Sylvie to see the good in themselves, the potential for a better future.
And the TVA is NOT having it.
After all, a little Loki girl being happy and well-adjusted and playing at being a hero is bad enough to branch the timeline... a Loki willing to see himself in a positive light? Deciding he deserves better than to be alone? Yeah that's a Nexus Event alright.

I think Ravonna is a variant, but she (unlike the rest) knows that, and she's in on everything.

I think the common thread in all these Marvel shows is when each episode ends the reactors lose their shit!! Hahahaha!!! Oh and Sylvie is so dangerous because she isn't as self obsessed as all the other Lokis' who were pruned and kept one step ahead of the TVA causing one Nexus Event after the other until she figured out the hiding in Apocalypses. Hearing Norse mythology from people of Denmark, what a world we live in. Thanks for that and everything.
I've got to say--if Loki actually loves Sylvie (and I think he does) that seems to me extremely healthy. At the end he's not competing with her, but being purely supportive, which is not what a pure narcissist does. A pure narcissist sees even a different version of himself as competition, nothing else. That isn't how they react to each other not anymore.

Great reaction guys. Just wanted to say I've seen a lot of people wondering why she was arrested by the TVA as a child, but she tells Loki on Lamentis while they are sitting there this episode. She tells him that its because she "was born the godDESS of mischief and when that detoured far enough from the sacred timeline" they came and got her. Just wanted to throw that out there because i only caught it on the rewatch because it's pretty subtly delivered even though she does put an emphasis on her inflection in the "DESS" part of goddess.

Little Fun-Fact: When Child Silvie was playing on Asgard you could see a little "Fenrir" standing beside the Viking-Ship at the Stairs - If I'm not mistaken in North Mythology Fenrir is the Child of Loki, so I found it very funny that they included that in the Episode. :)

I think those buildings at the end ended up there the same way they did, but with the reset charges (many think it's just New York because of the Avengers tower, but I prefer this other option).

Well, we have Lady Loki on TVA and in a post-apocalyptic city we have Loki, Boastful Loki, Classic Loki, Kid Loki, and Alligator Loki. but where is the president Loki that we have seen in the trailers? P. S. I was delighted that Lady Sif appeared. Curiously, in the comics, Loki uses the body of Lady Sif to become. reincarnate in Lady Loky, but, I think this happens in the same timeline as Loki; so, the presence of a Loki girl may indicate the existence of other parallel universes with their own timelines.
