  • Thames Spring continues as Day 5 Join me on an exciting adventure along the Thames Path from Deptford to Battersea, where we explore the history of banned baudy pagan horn fairs at Charlton and iconic power stations like Bankside and Battersea Power Station. Both once under threat and some were disused when I first photographed them in the 90's. and 00's.
We start with a plea for diversity in London, talk about crockery and plague/hospital ships at Surrey Dock Farm, wild camping in the shadow of Canary Wharf? weird 80's architecture, so much random public art and my art history, and the darker side of London from hanging pirates, the tragedy of the Salter family to terrorist attacks which I have personal experience of.
And the start of Bridge Chat - sympathy for Southwark Bridge, Albert Bridge is just weird...And why I don't go to many of these tourist sights, even in my own city.
And can we take out any tourists with my Big Pole?
Discover hidden gems and intriguing stories along the way - don't forget to subscribe for more urban exploration, walking and hiking videos.

Another cracking video, Tim. So much i never knew about London 👍 I loved the artwork you inserted near the end, especially the skyline/landscape?

Yes I've done a lot of artwork of London, this will become very clear when I get into my hood in Day 7....I am actually going to struggle to know what to pick for that.

Great video. I always thought the London bridge with all the houses on it would have been a great sight if it still existed.

Yes...defiinitely one of the wonders of the world, and the house survived relatively well into modern times... 1761!

😂 gated benches! That reminds me of a bench a used on my adventure across England, it had been separated from the footpath by an electric fence!

Wow electric fence bench, that wins the 'most hard to use bench ever' award. I do have one on the next video that's in a total mud pool, that almost qualifies as well

Muddy benches are fairly common but they can get ridiculous. If it's bad enough you might just win 'the worst bench award'! 🤣 Maybe we can start a proper competition to see who can find the most ridiculous public bench? 🤔
