This guy talks about the CCP being too scared to sanction the Trump administration, yet is careful not to mention Putin spending months building up troops on Ukraine's border under it. He's treating it like Putin waved a magic wand and conjured those troops from nothing as soon as Biden was in office.
I lived in the Philippines 🇵🇭 for years and when I first got there the attitude was distrustful of the USA 🇺🇸 and neutral to China 🇨🇳 now China 🇨🇳 is the national enemy and mostly very positive towards the USA 🇺🇸! My wife’s cousin was in a ship fishing that the Chinese almost cut in half!

I'm Aussie living in Cagayan de Oro Mindanao Philippines. I've watched the way that Filipinos have become more aware of the danger that the CCP is. I've seen how the CCP have ramped up their bullying of the Philippines in the Philippines' Exclusive Economic Zone. However, the Philippines has stood up to the bullying.
On finding the most absurd and funniest Chinese Communist Moments, I think Winston and Matt over at The China Show have a huge jump with a collection of videos ranging from painting hillsides green to stapling leaves onto trees to just wandering around ghost cities and filming it.
Yeah, I have had many laughs (and sprayed coffee out of my nose) while watching their videos. Some things are just truly incomprehensible hilarious when it comes to the gems they find across the great fire wall.

I started watching THE CHINA SHOW in 2020. Winston and Matt are great at showing, via video clips, China behaving badly. It was hard to believe that stuff happens without seeing the many many video clips.

Just listening to this interview gives me hope that we will overcome the evil that is the CCP.
As the US navy/marines are painfully aware from experience in WWII invading islands are very difficult. Easy to defend, everyone can see you coming and difficult to land enough troops to hold beaches.
If i remember correctly the eastern coast is also mountainous. Can you imagine how many hidden bunkers loaded to the teeth are in said mountains? Sounds like a nightmare trying to land there.

Taiwan has two main non-kinetic advantages against China.
1. A PLA buildup along the coast would be easily identifiable.
2. Avoiding monsoon seasons, leaves May and October to cross the strait for the P.L.A. Navy and can stay on high alert during these windows of opportunity.
True; however, as PLA drills get larger point #1 slowly gets weaker as the difference between an exercise and an actual attack becomes harder to distinguish.

A significant portion of Taiwan's population doesn't mind reunification or wants to be unified. Add that to the great majority of Taiwanese that refuse to fight, and that means Taiwan is no where as tough as Ukraine to be conquered. Taiwan doesn't even have a military draft to get people to defend the country.

I think your guest expressed a misconception about party membership. The average person cannot join the CCP/CPC. You must be invited into it and refusing to accept is unwise. So the number of people currently holding membership is not a direct reflection of support for communism. I don’t think he’s wrong in general though, big city life and technology are products of capitalism and that is not lost on many Chinese citizens who benefit from it.
He raises an interesting point which is you really can't PMC a war with china ... there aren't private contractors with responses to the dual massive fleet they have, for example.
I think the easiest explanation for military investment is our dollar is disproportionately affected by global trade compared to any other currency. Demand for the US dollar doesn’t exist in a vacuum and because the majority of global trade is conducted with it and if that is interrupted or the world stops using the dollar for global trade it will have a massive negative effect on the value of a dollar. Our military reach and esp our navy Air Force ensuring free open and global trade is what hold all of it together. Thats why the idea of an isolationist theory won’t work if we want to keep our standard of living. We have the majority of the resources we need in the USA but our prosperity relies on demand for the dollar and global trade.
The USD is trading normally on the DXY against other major currencies. True, the US going isolationist would be a bad move. Look what happened in the 1930s. The USD is the strongest currency by far. However, there are other tradable currencies, the Euro, Yen (a bit sick at the moment), GBP, AUD, CND and CHF (Swiss Franc).
@@petersinclair3997facts but defacto US currency is the main trading currency even beyond it just being the petro dollar. Having a massive supply of dollars on the market without the demand for the currency is a recipe for an economic disaster. Our promise after WW2 was we will keep the peace and keep the sea lanes open to encourage global trade in exchange for this y’all use our currency for global trade. For us to keep that promise we have to have the military power, equitpment and global reach to do so. Otherwise the house of cards collapse. Now in a post covid world with declining demographies there will be more war/conflicts than there has been in the last 50 years so we gotta invest. Thats why BRICS is mild threat but couple it with Iran and North Korean escalating, the Saudis openness to trade in diff currencies and a looming conflict in Taiwan that manufacturers the micro processors that go into the majority of USAs computers, comms, infrastructure and even weapons is so dangerous. Hence why we’re seeing so many nations beyond just Europe re-arming. Who knows maybe another wave of global prosperity hits and we avoid the conflict but my guess is something big happens.

This really attractive and well-educated Chinese woman jumped because she fell for the CCP line of bs and she worked in the banking sector. I don't know how much money is worth over there but to go from like 40,000 a month to like 6 or 7 K per month to live off of for the next 30 years is apparently enough to get people jumping.
