- oh my goodness long time no see!!! hello!! how are you!! sorry this took forever. as you can see it was a long one, mostly a lot of my talking, venting, and many very very confused moments haha

I’ve been teaching for over twenty years and learned this the hard way, always number bins and student folders that way you can use them over and over every year. Love your excitement and I wish you a wonderful first year teaching🍎

for their dojo dollars, maybe you can make a bulletin board with little pockets/envelopes with each of their name on them!

❤️ ur classroom! If “allowed” (and u can’t give the filing cabinet to another classroom), maybe you could turn the filing cabinet sideways & use as a “bench”, another “countertop/shelf” space, or even a place to hang anchor charts or something ☺️
Also, the number on the wallets is a much better idea because you can reuse them year after year!
For the lights I recommend the Velcro command strips♥️

@@Sunshine1986-d1e oh trust me I just left my k to 8 (elementary/middle) and it's 50 shades of beige, with a beige green and yellow gym and some yellow on the walls, if that isn't 50 shades of ugly I don't know what is.
Can you ask other teachers in your building if they would want the filing cabinet? Or does it have to stay in your room? Also, you might want to get a fan for your room to help with the AC issues?
Sometimes I wish I was still an elementary teacher! Your space is so practical and full of color. It looks like you have some great plans for next year. Looking forward to seeing how it goes! My middle school classroom turned out pretty well this year, kinda similar to yours, practical and put together. I filmed classroom set up videos too! Love looking back on the process!
For the dojo dollars, you could use envelopes. At the school I interned at last semester, we had the kids decorate them with their names and stickers or drawings. They are also suuuper cheap! I’m not sure where my mentor teacher got them, but they were like birthday card envelopes, not like the “regular” ones.

I just am catching up with all your videos & had to pause and comment quickly. I used a trapezoid table as my desk & it is perfect! I had a giant bulky desk that I traded for it and I LOVE it! I keep essentials on top and have a bookshelf next to it with all of the things that I would keep in the drawers of my desk.

Hi Bailey! I just want to let you know that for awhile now I’ve been thinking about becoming an elementary school teacher. I already have a BA in psychology but I’ve found that that isn’t my true passion. You’ve made me realize that teaching is! Dollar Tree has snap containers in a 3 pack, so you get 3 for $1. 18 containers = $6. They are also more sturdy because they don't have the plastic hinge.
Your class is looking so cute! I was in my classroom today and have so much extra tables, even a 2nd teacher desk?. I asked if they could take them out and they said no as well 🙁 I feel you girl....its overwhelming.....
Maybe you can turn the filing cabinet facing backwards & use it to display posters or work or something! Maybe a Keep the Quote or something! If it’s magnetic, a bonus!

you could have the library IN the cabinet where the curtain and fairy lights are to save some space!
Make sure to get a microwave to put on top of mini fridge makes it a lot easier

In my school, kids couldn't access the library or any of the cabinets. That's a few of the reasons why we were able to spread the student desks so far apart.

I haven’t read through all your comments. But I added a couple drops of essential oil‘s to my hand sanitizers and it made them smell a little bit better.
that’s an amazing idea, just make sure students aren’t allergic to the oil so the bottle doesn’t go to waste!
Check with your principal. . .often you can get rid of col curriculum and things like that. I had a ton of old stuff in my room that I assumed I had to keep but when I asked I could get rid of it. Doesn’t hurt to ask! 🙂. Your room is adorable!

@@AWESOME954100 But we did have to sit through 15 minutes of "I think someone is following me" on a classroom setup video. Kids don't have an attention span like that Get to the point or they forget the point.
I just fast forward to the actual classroom set up parts.
